Hi all and I am homefry' Zappa from Chilastra. I would lioke to start a Union dedicated to buingind us docs together to keep prices of buffs fair, but profitable in all servers. No longer should buffs be 8k on small servers or 10k on large ones. I believe that 15k should be resonable, and that we should get the money we deserve. With the rising cost of resources/buffs the hight price MUST be past on the the combat prifs that can make 34k"ish" on one rancor mission. Or they will go get force crystals or geo cubes. As docs our only oppertunity for loot is group/guild hunts and the combat profs usually keep the good stuff anyway. We deserve miney for the bore of buff boting and i thinh it is time to join ISDU. Thank you for reading this and Good Luck in all you do.

I think this is a great idea! I'll make mass cash by charging my current rate if you get the majority to inflate their prices! That would be sweet! Everyone else charging 15k a set while I charge my usual 8k (heck might even go to 10K if the average is inflated like that!) I'd make a killing!

Not to poop on your idea but it's hard enough to get people organized in a single guild I can't imagine this plan being successful. Not too mentio a price of 15k is even high on Ahazi. If we were to pull off something like this I think it would be a black-eye for Doc's. I can already imagine the amount of times you'd hear "Greedy Doc's, I'm just gonna grind it 0440 so I can buff myself and make money too."

Price fixing is never a good idea, you'd really make your customer base feel cheated and it would give them a reason to NERF the buffs. If buffs are so neccesary and they are too expensive, I fear the Dev's would smack Doc's with a Nerf Bat the size of cleveland.

Great thought, I just don't think it could be pulled off nor would it be effective.

There is no death, there is immortality.
There is no weakness, there is the Dark Side. I am the Heart of Darkness.
I know no fear, but rather I instil it in my enemies. I am the destroyer of worlds.
I know the power of the Dark Side. I am the fire of hate.
All the Universe bows before me, I pledge myself to the Darkness.
For I have found true life, in the death of the light.

Oh wow, another thread dedicated to price fixing. That's only what, 4 this week now?

Just because you think 15k is 'reasonable' doesn't mean everyone else does. Also the prices of resources vary by server so this will never happen.

^ agreed. ^

15K on Ahazi is insane. Before I ever got into medic I wouldn't pay more than 10K and that's if I was desperate, there is ALWAYS someone doing it for 8K or less in a large city. And this is on a server where half-decent republic blasters go for 400K

as much as i think its hurts the profession to see doctors practically giving away buffs (people tend to associate te value of a service with its price, and therefore the value of the service provider-- meaning, if we commoditize the service by competing for tiny margins people will lose respect for the quality of the service others are providing) i don't think this is a good idea.

firstly, its all too easy to grind up to master doc and get into the biz, this would actually create MORE competition as people would say eff this, i'll become my own doctor. secondly, what guild doesn't have a few in-house doctors to provide all their buffing needs? imho, this would make people more dependant on their guild doctors. guilds might then start making fewer resources available to the general public as they devoted more time to providing their own docs with the stuff they needed.

i dunno, i'm shooting from the hip here, but i don't think this is a good idea.

I said that we would need to asses the climate of every galaxy. On chilastra 15k has and will work on ahzi, it may not. But us docs need to make a profit, because we know the fighters are.

If your replying to flame please dont. I would like to try to get this together and flaming hapers that wish.

Good luck to all of you.

This is where we disagree. I DO make a profit, and my profit has NOTHING to do with how much fighters earn.

If they get buffed and then do one quenker mission and spend the rest of their time AFK taking a dump, or if they get buffed and spend the next 3 hours earning a million credits - it makes no difference whatsoever to MY profits, AND it's none of my business anyway.

What you want is to raise your prices based upon what the higher level elite combat professions MIGHT make doing missions. Some will make that kind of money, some won't, but you will charge everyone the higher price.

Screw that.

I set my price based on MY profit. I do not, and WILL NOT set my price based upon what someone else may or may not be capable of earning while they are buffed. A real world doctor does not charge one guy more to sew up a cut than he charges someone else, even if one guy earns way more money than the other. Give me a break.

No, you didn't say that.

You are trying to fix the same price for every server. A lot of people don't agree with price fixing so thankfullyit won't happen.

I tried this months ago...great idea, not a lot pf interest though

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen." - JULIO TORRES
