Squash a rumor plz ... are docs getting their buffs nerfed in some form? I may totally be crossing wires with armorsmiths. Anyone know?

The only people who know for sure are SOE and they're being very tight lipped about it.

Hats off to SOE. Not many companies could take the best MMO on the market and fu*k it up completely, that takes real skill.

I haven't heard anything, but I don't think buffs will get nerfed at all, especially with armor getting nerfed. It would be just plain dumb to nerf the two things players rely on most.

it is going to be a complete revamp of the combat system.
specials are gonna be changed
Damage
Damage types
HAM costs being replaced by a "special" bar
Armor being "nerfed" (retroactive too no legacy items)
weapon damage being possibley "nerfed"
if buffs are considered part of combat then yes they too will suffer some change, it seems anything that becomes too common in game gets nerfed cause they have too many.

Look at CH, everyone was a Ch now try to find one (please ignore the sig )

If we get nerfed to the point where being a Master Doctor isn't that important then yes I'll be unhappy. I have put too much time and money into this to see my Doctor get a really bad nerf bat up the backside.

If they do anything, as long as it's balanced and doesn't get to the point of negating Doctor's then fine. But buff's are not the problem, Armour and mind/focus/willpower buffs are. Without them it's the mind that causes most incap's and deaths.

SOE is ruining any entetainment value of SWG. It seems that devs take the wrong approach to correcting any problem and revamps result in making the game worse off. People are always going to whine that its not fair that this combination of skills is superior to their character, and it seems that they do enough that the devs give in. For example, macro looting genosian caves the devs responded with the insanely hard corvette and the even harder death watch bunker. All characters are going to be plain vanilla, all the same. If they nerf doc I am going to bang my head against my monitor and cancel my account.

This is dicey since we really don't kow what's going to happen yet. But I did read one of the dev's saying their changing the ham system which translates into our buffing changing too in some way. I'm a little nervous because if they do go overboard on nerfing buffs, it might lower the importance of docs. On the other hand, it could actually make us *more* important too depending on what they do.

We just don't know enough yet to know...stay tuned

I have a second account I was gonna use for making a doc. Thats why I asked. hmmm, find it interesting tho that they give Image designers the ability to adjust the HAM yet plan also on making it a "special" bar, Best is to wait and see I guess.

Thanks folks for the insight.

This kind of balancing is SORELY needed in SWG to stop people leaving, and to bring people back to the game. If they do it right, the game will become much better, and doing it right may involve nerfing doctor buffs. Ireally haveno time for the fools who object to using nerfs to balance a broken game.

Game designers have their jobs for a reason -- they've demonstrated talent atdesigning games. You and me are just players looking at it from the wrong end of the design process. One thing's for sure, all change will be relative. If you are the best buffer now, you will be the best buffer in the future, because the lesser buffers will have been nerfed too.

Dont mean to sound mean, but we have heared that before, and they (devs) dont give a crap.
