I'm just curious. What's with the trend where many doctors will only accept bank tips and not direct "out of pocket" payments?

with a bank tip, you actually get a redillay avaiable reciept of being paid, regular tips get lost in a mile long list of SPAM in your Spatial window.Makes for quite a pain in the butt when someone claims they tipped you and you have to scroll up forever trying to find confimation. Its SOO much easier to just open your email and see who tipped you what and when. Makes line management a lot easier too.

"Bank tips only"
I keep hearing this stupid rant about bank tips only. Why? Is it that hard to make a seperate window for SYSTEM MESSAGES ONLY? For most ppl.....guess so.
I don't buff anyone but friends, guildies, and myself anymore (Thank God) but I still have that system msg's only window next to spatial in my chat bar. Ever since then, I've turned off onscreen system messeges. Its really nice =]

I have no problem with it, just wondered why. It's been explained and makes sense.

how hard can it be to understand that if they bank tip, you have a list in order of who paid you what and when...i dont buff in public, but when i did, i could have a 20-30 person line and no confusion. and i personally already have too many things onscreen

Well, being a Master Doctor yourself, I would imagine not.

It breaks down to how much attention the Doctor wants to pay to certain aspects. Bank tipping is the easiest [laziest if you wanna say it] way of keeping track. I'd rather not inconvenience the customers [since our server is line method anyways] and I've never had any trouble at all with getting normal tips, but then I set it up to be that way and I pay more attention than some do I suppose.
Easiest way is to make a seperate window for Sys messages [which I would recommend doing regardless of whether or not you are a buffing doc or a fighting rifleman], and you can go further and add in a sentance colorization for "tips you" and it will change the color of the whole sentance in your sys messages window. Also, in line method, you aren't tipped until they get to the front, so it's easy to catch their normal or bank tip b/c you know it's coming right then.
EDIT: A note however... on servers that use the bank tip/crowd method, there is no option to use normal tips. That is just the way the server evolved into buffing and it's the way the customers have come to accept it as a whole. My comments are more aimed towards people that use line buffing... I don't see it being possible to do a crowd method w/o bank tipping b/c they come in too fast.

You don't like bank tips, then don't patronize the Doctor asking to be paid that way.
Problem solved.

What chaps my a$$ is when some one keys in
/say JoeBlow has tipped you 12000 credits
This looks like a valid tip unless you notice it's in a different color "white" instead of green with my HUD option.
