I thought I was prepared. Had buff packs ready, medical suit, Bivoli, and plenty of droid batteries. I had my buff macro working like a charm andmacro announcing the buff and price. This should be easy right? Boy was I wrong.
I was exhausted after about an hour.
Thespammers were driving me crazy while trying to catch someone's tip to verify payment. I spent the first 10 minutes trying to /addignore the spammers(can't block those darn droid merchant barkers). But after about half an hour I was starting to get more comfortable. I need a macro to keep the Bivoli stoked I discovered. I don't know what to do about the droid batteries.
The worse part was when some joker(who will rename nameless) tries to stiff me. I am tuning into chat window looking for the xxx has tipped you 12k credits, looking for the green text ignoring the white. I tell him 12k please and he says I already tipped you. So I'm rolling back trying to see if I just missed it and there it is(IN ALL WHITE) characters. I realize he's trying to scam me. He's obviously just entered /say xxx has tipped you 12k credits. I tell him to get lost and go scam someone else, and invite the next person in line to move up. He then commences to argue that he did tip me and started calling me names. /addignore and move on.
I think I'm going to start requiring bank tips only. Or I might just not do public buffings again. I had no idea what docs had to go through, it might not be worth it.

One tip for ya, and it will make a world of difference in your ability to do line buffing...
Make a new chat tab, modify it so that it ONLY displays system messages. I actually have 2 chat windows, one has combat/system tabs and the other larger one has everything else...
Here's a screenie to give you an idea of what I mean... CLICKY

another tip with the whole buffing thing . . insist on bank tips, regular tipping is . . well impossible in coronet, too hectic

HeHe. I have to laugh. I can into the chaos when I did my first buff session in front of Coronet on the Flurry server. I thought it would never end, but this was before the new buff system and chef food. I imagine that Coronet is the same for every server? I don't know because I only play on Flurry.
Now, I seldom do Doc session buffs. I mainly group with some friends or group with ppl who are wanting to tackle the DWB. I provide the MD/MCM abilities for the group.

Hmm,
To be honest I dont have problems to buff in coronet. Ok its crowded but u got a lot of customers. I only have 2 macros running, one is the buffing macro, the other my announcement, the rest is manually, bivoli and if needed havla (but with the bugged havla it's no fun). After all when the q is too long is simply temp close it (own macro), let the q go down, and then reopen.
Damn I wished the med xp cap would be much higher, so we can get some decent fs xp
Regards

One suggestion is like someone said earlier, require bank tips only, all other tips ignored, what this does is creates an email. If you are buffing in [insert city here] and you have a long line of customers, it's pretty easy to keep your email open, and use it as a list of who's next by buffing ppl in the order that they tipped. The emails are static and you can delete them as you go, keeping the current "buff-ie"'s tip email highlighted. This is how i did it for quite awhile before i dropped doc. Busy starports can be quite annoying and it is hard to catch those tips as they fly by.
hope this helps someone out there, g'luck!

I mastered Doc only about a month ago. I tend to buff outside Theed. When I buff I have a chat window set to System messageswith text colored for each buff in progression (to make it easy to tell if I've missed one). I also open my inventory window and reduce it to the smallest size so I can see my bank and cash amounts. I try to keep track and watch the amounts so I can tell when someone tips me.
Be warned, if you make "tip" a coloriozed word, it will colorize a scammer's emote or spatial as well and that will confuse you more. I can only recommend keeping track of your cash values.
BTW, I have a macro for my buffs, soI can roleplay and read people's bios as I'm buffing. It is a great way to make port-buffing fun.

lol i'm thinking about buff sessions in coro, but now that i think about it ya'll are scaring me!
I might just do it anyway. Last night i was getting folks asking are u buffing are u buffing over and over, and no i wasn't getting annoyed, i thought it was rather amusing. So i plopped my hairy wookie butt down, and created a macro that said, no i'm not buffing, i'm eating dinner and chatting with friends.... like every 30 secs.... that quit all that rofl.....
I'll try one buff session if i could EVER get a day off. If i dont like it, i wont do it again =P
