Thread: A little CU advice please
I'm a Master Doc and 2244 CM, with enough dabble in Pistoleer to use a geo blaster (so I fight with poisons and a blaster and heal myself along the way). If I want to remain a Master Doc and also to be able to use poisons, and to craft meds and CMs, what do I have to do? Or perhaps there is a thread already that goes through all this?

Well if your primary focus is Medical Crafting and not healing, drop CM and Doctor....pick up BE 0/0/0/4, craft enhancers to sell to healers. Then use the rest of your SP's elsewhere.
All the abilities for Medic, CM, Doc don't use items any longer. The are all "Ability" based....or "Magical" as some people say. Master CM gets an uber Pistol (no one else can use it). So maybe go Master Pistol, Master CM, BE 0/0/0/4

I can see right away that I can't be a Master Doc, a Master CM, and still have 0004 BE. Assuming I want the BE (so I can keep crafting) and Master CM (mostly for the sake of that disruptor, so I can give up my Pistoleer), I still need to lose 31 points of Doc.
Any ideas here about which way to go, advantages or disadvantages of the various trees? Seems like Medical Augementation is necessary if I want to keep crafting meds. But the others all seem pretty essential too. Seems hopeless....
...and it doesn't look like your Master Doc, 1444 CM, and 4400 pistols works, unless we get more skillpoints? (Because then I ought to be able to build Master CM, 4144 Doc, and still have points for the BE.)

Technically you should be...but I think that the pre-reqs for BE are borked up.....this may or may not change, but according to the CU Notes BE only requires Novice Medic x/x/x/4. We will see.
The crafted Enhancers are for *ALL* or our primary abilities, (Healing, buffs, poison, disease, ect....) or atleast thats what I'm guessing....the elite trainers should be up today, but right now they don't work, so its hard to say.
i also think of changing form doc/pistoleer to cm/pistoleer on chimaera, as i can pickup the BH pistol tree as well with this template (adds dizzy and knockdown shots to your arsenal).
i still keep my doc/tkm template in Gorath server. i think this might be a nice combo too, as with tkm u have the best damage avoidance defenses, which u will need when u do healings during battle / hunt. and u will be very mobile as u dont need to wear armour as tka. they do best without any armour after CU.
I can see going CM/0004 BE and complementing what is left with Doc. With 0004 Doc, that seems to leave 18 skillpoints to spend. So what Doc skills would be most worth taking up with those 18? (And do FS points get subtracted from all this too? I've spent 1 skillpoint on one box and wonder if there is any point in trying to get another before CU descends?)

It aslo requires the crafting line of medic.My build uses the fact that pistols and CM both require the same novice markman lines thus saving you some skill points. So any CM/Pistols combo will be a skill point saver. Doc only tacks on one more medic line so it comes at a low cost. I could also see picking up some smuggler 0x00 as those spcials might be nice.I would not count to much on the DPS of the weapons in TC5 at the moment. Lets face it, when you add in all the loots and crafted components different weapons will result in different DPS. I am not sure, for example, if the CM pistol can by Krayt'ed. Until we can see what goes into them will we really be able to make guess work on DPS.Ahh this gets my mind rolling. I think it is time for a "What ya gonna be" focus thread.
Well, since my character now revolves around crafting meds, and I have tent filled with vendors, I would like to continue, hence the BE.
And I think you're wrong on the Doc info....according to the site you mentioned Doc requires two trees of Medic, not one (and neither overlaps with CM).
