Great idea...all professions would appreciate this flexibility. Actually, it makes too much sense, so Devs will probably nix it.

Great Idea but SOE will not go for it. There is such a lack of game content thatSOE seem intent on players wasting time on shuttlewaits then our time riding to the village after 15 minutes of buffing. Getting FS slots is not hard it's just boring and a waste of time -- thanks again SOE for ZERO content!!
Anyone for riding circles around The Village 90 times???

Sounds like a good idea to me also. I think they should let you convert your xp this way and then you return to the village for quests and training. Now the real answer to this. They will not, only because they think this is a way to discourage individuals on making jedi because of high xp conversions and repitive travel.

How about make converting XP an option on your force crystal, instead of having to go talk to the guy in the village?
Has this been discussed anywhere?

It would be a definate time saver for us docs, though I have given the thought of going back to combat medic because I can get exp much faster and it wouldn't be as expensive as buffs. Probably the reason the cap is so high for docs is because combat medics can get med exp so fast and it would be easy for one to cap without haveing to leave dath or offering free buffs. I only worry that as more and more people are at the village that lag will become a serious factor. Hopefully the changes they are trying out on TC2 will help us tremendously in the lag department on all servers.

Yes, but what fun is that? I'd much rather be buffing regular players in coronet or theed, and keeping my guild healthy at the genos lab than buffing random FS'ers in the village.
