Thread: How do Docs on non-line servers survive..??

I play on Wanderhome...and for the past 6 or 7 months we've used the whole "Form a Line" Method of buffing...recently a friend of mine created a toon on Ahazi so I made one there myself.
I buy some low level weapons and head to the Mining outpost to look for a doc/solo group...and see a bunch of people sitting around the Doctor. After some explaining I found out about the bank tip technique and was shocked...it just doesn't make sense..
I'm grinding up doc on Ahazi now just to show them how its done lol

you will be met with frustration and anger bro, i wouldnt waiste ur time
someone else has tried this and what happens is you get a full population of confused players screaming 'WHY DONT YOU JUST USE THE BANK TIP METHOD???'
well, when i first started dr, bank tipping wasnt an option coz some people had found a way to 'fake bank tip' so we had to use pen and paper and write down peoples names as they sat down. there was no line method yet and i was on bria.
I did this for my first 2 or 3 months of dr and it was good, then i took a small break from the game, personal life issues, and for about 1 -2 months i took a hiatus.
I came back, sat down to start buffing and i spammed out my 'Master Dr buffs' slogan, coz at that time there still wasnt STATIC buffs yet.

Next thing i knew, people started lining up in front of me, somewhere in that 2 month span lines became the popular method on bria, i was shocked and amazed when i didnt have to write down peoples names anymore.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE SYSTEM. im just saying good luck with it and be prepaired to be hated. i remember when someone else tried it, didnt go over well

What don't you understand about bank tip buffs? Its fairly simple. You say your spam people bank tip you and you just go down your emails to tell who is next. No line skipping no scamming "What do you mean I tipped you already" crap and people can go afk while they wait their turn. I would much rather have it this way then having to play babysitter to a bunch of kids trying to form a line. Many poeple from other servers complain about it when they come to Ahazi, but this is the way we like it our server will never be a line buffing server.

Line buffing is better than bank tip buffing in every way except the fact that the customer can't AFK while they wait, IMO anyways... *shrug* Having done both [Shadowfire uses line, Sunrunner uses bank], I prefer the line method.
And I've never had a problem with having to "babysit a bunch of people trying to make a line" ... They want buffs, so it would only hurt them to cause trouble in the line.

Bank tips > Line buffing
Line buffing is inconvenient and demeaning. If a doc told me where I had to sit, I would go get buffs from another doc. With the bank tip system, I banktip him, sit wherever I want, and then go afk. So much better than lines.

And if the doc is the only doc online...30 people banktip him...and he goes LD?

well, going LD can happen with lineforming up aswell..
i understand that on some serves the "lineup method" has become a standard, and i kinda like it, and i even thinked abotu a minute if i shoudl try it, but then disregarded it, becuase most ppl "here" on my server are
1.) used to banktip and plop down and wait
2.) what happens if i suddenly throw in a speedround? i dont want to standup and go to each lineclient becuase otherwise i would be out of range (ya iam lazy)
3.) aroudn 50% of these ppl "here" GO somewhat afk, i notice that when tehy are doen they sit there for 1-20 more minutes.
Most ppl dont like the Linemethod, some do. I also saw 1 Doc who tried the Linemethod, a nice visual way to see the queue yes,but there was not many using that doc and i saw a higher crowd on the "normal banktip and plop down" doc.
and regarding your nonasked question about "well ok... and how do i know its my turn?"
I usually buff fast enough to "guarant" a waittime for less than 10 minutes, and if i see i might take a bit loinger then i start givign a queeu status, and when ppl ask i usually answer when their turn is.
and sometimes then there are soem docs with "high queues" i do my express lane thign for impatient ppl, guaranted waittime of less than 4 minutes or 60% money back.
sure i get complains (ya go on, just 1 star me, wont change anything) and sure, i get lesser clients, but the clients who actualyl have "no time and i need it right now" are hapyp to have this service.

Yes but if they go LD with the line method people have'nt paid already. Also I found with the tip method that some people sit just far enough away that I have to get up and close in on them. What a pain but if you use this method you have no choice if they are afk. Also from the other side... I like being in a line because if I have a group of freinds waiting for me I can give them an eta using where I am in line. Docs also have the ability to skip if they want with the tip method and noonebe the wiserwhich just sux. I am a doc and do not do skip any time for any amount. We on Radiant use to use the tip method but it went away. Thorne / Enod

well, i try to be as honest as possible, and some ppl might know this..
so i dont do queuejumps, goign on email time, and if i LD crash or whatever i tip em back when i get back on (sure, its pain when i suddenly crash :-( )
but so far it happened only 1 and onyl 1 tip was open so no trouble :-P

Hmmm eclipse is a line server. I see the benefits of doing it both ways, and I think im going to try the bank tip method. Hmmm any other methods I could try and have a little fun!

Lines work great for huge groups of people, for the LD reason. But bank tips are more reliable, and there's no way to cut or argue who's in front. Also, you can buff your guildmate and no one would know it was out of order. Plus, you can have a conversation with the 5-10 people sitting around you, and roleplay a bit, instead of waiting at the top of a long lonelyline.

listen man, u want to lvl doc on ahazi and try the line? go ahead. but first search the ahazi forums and see what happened to the last two doc's that tried that... 
ahazi will never do the line.
