You are right about servers being entirely different. It also varies based on the qualities of packs and the amount of competition.
This is a player driven economy. The price of buffs will be whatever the doctors and patients decide they are worth. The doctors usually state their price and then the ball is in the patient's court. If the asking price is too high, the doctor will not get any business and will move along or lower their prices.
In short, if you think 20k is outrageous, sit down and charge 15k and the world will likely shift to your line...

On Shadowfire, if I was the only one and I was using my +2508 packs, I could charge 20k and that'd be pretty normal. Most of the time it is 15k tho. On Sunrunner, 25-30k was the normal buff price when I was there. May have dropped now that solo group payouts have been nerfed.

ew? just ew?
On eclipse people complain about 15k buffs, 20k would seem outrageous for most buffers.
10k is our standard, even most of the crafting doctors lowered our buffpack prices so our community could enjoy lower buffing prices

I do not find it hard to believe.
I have a supplier who can create a buff pack (D) that can provide about 2550 buffs for 2hrs 45min.
For those who are fixated on the points buffed, you could easily get 20 - 25K out of it.
Matter of fact, in some situation, possibly more.
It also depends on how you treat your customers. I sell my buffs for 15K. I sell them like gangbusters even when other doctors arrive and spam for 10K and 12K. Even when other doctors are only 50-100 points less than mine and longer duration...
If you treat your customers right, they will pay more for the "special" buffs when you have them.
I know, I see it every day.

Nah, its not to much..
In the old days (before the sologroup fix) I would tip the doc anything from 20-50k depending how polite they were (and I didnt skip queue)... Its hard work crafting the buffs and kinda tedius sometimes to sit at MO or coronet buffing people (I've been there)
When the economy balances out then hunters will charge less, then doctors will charge less.. its a happy circle !

my price is 12k regardless the power im using, whether im using bivoli or not or if they are even. i can be buffing everywhere between ~2000-2500. sometimes someone will tell me im overpriced and thats fine i say.
i dont camp at the starports but certainly my price doesnt go up just because im the only one available. myprice is 12k whether im buffing for ~2k 2hr 45min duration or ~2.5k3hr duration.it all depends on when you catch me. when im the only one around, say at the village, i tell my would-be customers to tip as they like and many tip more than my standard price.
its like if i was the only grogery store open in town, im not going to shoot my prices up just because there is now a bigger demand for my services or goods. if someone pays more, cool. if not, cool.

I 've noticed on Bria the price is 10-15K depending on quality and who is doing the buffing. I think this is a fair price for a buff. 20K does seem a little steep, but as someone else stated the price is set by what people are willing to pay.

hah, i charge 20k or more, when i buff others at all, even after solo group nerf, somone can go run 10k missions easy, and make 200k per buff sesion... am i the ONLY one who sees this?
hell, if i could get away with it, i would charge 50k, as i see that resonable.
i would pay it, and i see no reason someone else shouldnt.

I was offline for a week thanks to my cable modem dying, but now I'm back, ready to jump feet first into being an MD. Noticed something in Coronet. A Doctor was charging 20k for buffs. Granted she was the only one buffing, but still, isn't that a bit high?
I know every server's economy is different, but the average I've seen across several is 10-15K. Just wondering, since I'll be jumping into the buffing game myself in the near future after I'm more proficient at some of our profession's finer points.

I charge 20K after reset. Why not...the only people who are on are the "I need a buff so I can be the 1st on at the (pick your spawn)". And if im not gonna be there you are gonna have to pay a premium price for crappy no biv buffs...And who logs on just to buff people anyways....unless your being well rewarded for it...

You can charge what the market (the players) are willing to pay. Even before I was a master doc I thought prices were low (prior to solo nerf) due to the amount of money that could be made on 1 set of buffs. I know how expensive it can be to either create your own buff packs or buy tem from someone else. If someone is willing to pay what you want they have no reason to complain. We provide a service to them, most not knowing what a pain it is to aquire the resources to create these buff packs.
