Have a Artisan buddy make crate of crafting stations for you... Name them "Medical supplies" and set an hour timer in options.

Every hour say "gack" when the timer goes off and then stop healing.

Delete the "Medical Suppies" from your inventory.

Get another set of "Medical Supplies" from your crate and start healing again.

Repeat every hour.

There! You're right back to where we were PreCU!

Simply because you disagree with someone else's stance on the change, is no reason to belittle and troll.

It was an honest suggestion to the persons here in assisting with the suspension of disbelief in this situation. I don't want to personally lose any of the good people here that make up the ranks of the vocal Doctors in SWG.

While we both differ night and day on the issue it does not mean that I respect your opinion less. Even though the tones of your posts seem unnecessarily negative which bugs me it has nothing to do with the comments I make. It's my desire to be positive and assist however I can in this process. I did not mean to sound or be interpreted as I belittled anyone. So I will saw an honest "I'm sorry" for that and attempt to be clearer in future posts.

Given the above background to what was intended in my post, it was not trolling in the simplest definition I'm actively participating in several of these threads and am not trying to jump in to simply provoke a response from anyone.

just the facts mam..... im with vortex on this one. point can be made for both sides... its just to bad the changes are going to spit the players that are left.

I have mastered 80% of the prof in the game, doc crafting is the only one that i liked. armor crafter made 3 times the money i made i just like buff and meds crafting. these changes are going to blow that up. As an older player on here.. not from the start but close to it, the game i like is going a direction i do not like.. they may inprove the game at the cost of many players, thats the sad part to me..

the word wars we have here do not matter.. words on the wind... best of luck tooth.

Of course they do. People are watching, the influential and loudly constructive get things looked at and changed. We've seen it happen before it will happen again. Case in point: 100% crafting day.

I have every badge in the game, mastered every profession, every themepark every dungeon, all 9 pilots and I'm currently a MDoc and Mshipwright per my sig. I can safely say that I have done everything in game. (was even a mayor, ) There was a Dev post that said basically "I couldn't say I won the game until I had well over 100 badges" granted it's an old post but you get my point.

There is nothing I would rather be doing than crafting and being a Doc.

After all this time and seeing where it was when I started prelaunch I can't not have faith that they are improving things. It's just a part of who I am. So take me with a grain of salt and ignore my optimism.

I used to have optimism, tempered with realism. But yeah, it's been replaced by pessimism.

Fact of the matter is, they have only so many weeks to get the CU finished and pushed to live(remember, it's scheduled to launch/be ready for the RotW expansion) that there won't be much room for me to even try and get some tweaks in my favor put in. The devs are gung-ho, ready to go with what they have that anything anyone says is taken with a grain of salt(if it's even given that much weight).

They're going forward with what they have...nothing else matters.

I agree but there's still two ways to look at it. The first they are just gung-ho and want to get it out and out of the way to be damned what the players want. The second is that they are stuck to a release date and have no choice but to make the best of it as they can as they barrel at the brickwall that is CU launch at full speed.

This when imho we put negitivity and pessimism aside so the Devs don't have to wade through it and try to help while we can.

I totally understand though, on all points.

I think we're straying from the facts here again, I knew my request for clarification would cause that, hence my reluctance at using the D&D comparison. Let's try to keep it constructive eh, nailing down exactly what we'll be doing is the priority here. We really should try to keep the suggested remedies (sarcastic or otherwise) elsewhere if possible, otherwise we're going to lose track of why the thread was started.

Having been a part of the CU alpha from its inception, I share Texxie's pessimism. If the only negative things about the CU were the healing changes (which I despise), I MIGHT still enjoy the game. Unfortunately, there is more to it than that. Even if I could accept the CU, I cannot accept the attitude conveyed by some of the reds in the course of the CU process.

For these reasons, and some others, I hit the cancel button for both of my accounts a few weeks ago. I didn't sign up to play yet another D&D style MMORPG, yet that is exactly what the CU is going to give us. Every objection has brought a response that makes me believe that the devs think they know what I find fun in a game better than I do.

Sorry Dark, it's simply the way that post came off to me. If you didn't mean it that way(and I believe you when you say you didn't) then forgive my reaction.

As for my 'negative' attitude in my recent posts, allow me to explain. I have been a part of this game since long before it ever went into beta. From the day the forums first opened up back in 2000(?), I've been part of this community. I've put in time, effort, ideas, work and my heart into this game. I've loved it, even the parts and periods that caused me a major headache.

And now they're changing not only the professions I love, for what to me seems to be a change for the worse, but they're also changing the entire game in a manner that makes it no longer the game I signed up for. After so many years and so much time I've put into the game and the community to see it change so drastically without so much as a chance to tweak things to keep a semblance of my gameplay in effect...well, yeah, it sort of puts me into a negative mood.

I'm glad there are people who will enjoy these changes, for it means the game will continue on with people having fun. I'm just at a loss, personally, because I will no longer be one of those players...

Losing something you've put 5 years of time into, whatever it may be,will put a damper on anyones mood.

It's ok Texxie, everyone is on edge...including me...and while you have more information and face time then probably anyone in here I think everyone understand where you are coming from. I mean I went through a SWG fit a few months ago were I was so sick and tired of a particular server that I almost quit. But it's people like you and everyone else that I've met; Istill continue to play and have fun with this game.

I've played DAoC, L2, FFXI, EQ1, EQ2, and WoW....but the only MMO that can keep my attention spam longer then a week is this game. Infact my Wife gets made at me because I forget to cancel subscriptions on games I don't even play anymore. She gets mad at me because I constantly buy more games because I play SWG to much and she thinks I need to take the "SWG IV" out of my arm.

Everyone is concerned with what is going to happen to the profession. The people in Beta probably more so then the rest. But dispite the changes, I really don't think the game will change much. Sure profession and gameplay is changing....but thats not what makes this game awesome. It's the people in it, that take part in the community (like yourself) and the Dev interaction with the players. I mean sure there are rough spots on all accounts, but out of every MMO I've played, this game continues to get 30 bucks a month from me.

Look at the past changes and how much people kicked a screamed.....and now those same changes are just memories for people like you and I. Our profession has to change to make the game better, more fun, and even more flexible for everyone. Right now it is tailored to Power Gamers, Griefers, and AFKers. Not for the casual players.....If SOE has to change the profession I love (Doc) to make the game more fun for everyone, I'm going to welcome with open arms. I may not like what they change, but if it gives me the ability to meet more people, I'm ok with that. SWG has the most mature group of players out of any other MMO. And thats what makes the game unique and awesome....not the changes to a single profession.
