Hi all I'm trying to decide which professions my second toon will be ...... was thinking Doc/Dancer (for the buffs ) But my question is, I would be a public buffer also and charging approx 13 > 15K on my server (Which is avarage) so how much approx do you guys make each day or buffing session etc ?.... thanks in advance.

15k every 2mins (avg) 90secs per buff, but easily 30secs of time wasted between buffs most times.

So that's 30 buffs per hour x 15k = $450k

That's a slow session I'd say... usually I just hit the next buff straight away and sort out money transfers etc while the buff is being applied.

Crafting is where it's at though. I make money while I sleep

I'm a roleplaying doc and I never have any money, there's not many of us poordocs aboutbecause I'm lazy. If I need money I'll get in a sologroup and do jantas for a bit till I can afford what I need.

I announced in Anchorhead the other day that I was buffing for 2 sips of brandy because I had 600 credits to my name and some imps turned up and I wanted to pvp. Does this make me a buffwhore alcoholic?

I think you can just about double your money by buying buffpacks and then buffing the public (after bivoli/droid/clothing costs etc). I make my own meds but they're not hitting 2500 for 3 hours so I don't really do buff queues, but self-made meds increase your profit margin quite a bit.

Alternatively, concentrate on gathering great resources and buying med experimentation tapes and craft and sell crates of buffpacks. This would take the most effort/time but that will pull in the best money, however the cost of setting up an operation like that is astronomical.

Anyway that's my 2 cents but let me finish by saying, I may not be rich but it's definitely the most rewarding profession around, especially when mixed with a combat profession. If I get the urge to hit the Geo Lab or a little pvp I'm already to go and I can take my friends with me and buff on the way.

Great on it's own, great in a group and it's a trade to make cash if you so desire (you'll still make more money doing Jantas/Mokks/Rancors though). My advice would be to just enjoy it, if you want money justget surveying4 and gather high quality resources to sell on your vendor.

Well, here is the issue if your just in it for the money.

1. If you want to craft you will need to spend a ton of time getting resouces. This will suck up a good bit more of your play time than you think and it will make your second toon your main toon very fast. You cant just dabble craft and make money you have to go all in.

2. If you want to buff for cash then you will need to buy buffs and and bivoli. This will eat up some of that 400k per hour posted above. In the end you will make about what a guy running Janta missions makes per hour maybe even less if they are doing Rancor missions. As a result if you wanted to make money with your second toon you might be just as well off picking up swords as you are doc or just running the missions on your main.

The bottom line is dont expect to become rich with your alt.

If you want to use your alt to make some extra cash my advice would be to find a resouce vendor and make a deal with them. They send you a waypoint fora resouce they want harvested and you drop 10 heavies on one day and then go pick them up when the resouce shifts. Then sell the resource back to the vendor for below market value (since the vendor told you what and where to harvest). With 10 heavies at 2 cpu you can make an easy500-1000k a week since you will be harvesting on high conc spots with valuable resouces (rather than static lots which pull crap on low % spots).

"I cleared almost 3 mil last night."

Would you explain how you did this, you must not be talking about public buffing?

Let’s look at the math (assuming you crafted your own buff packs for free):
3,000,000 credits
15,000 per buff
200 sets of buffs
2 min per set of buffs buff
400 min
6.6 hours

Now let’s say you have to buy the buff packs:
3,870,000 credits gross
15,000 per buff
258 sets of buffs
100 k per set of 30 buffs
870,000 cost for buff packs
3,000,000 credits net
2 min per set of buffs buff
516 min
8.6 hours

And that doesn’t address the costs of bivo, brandy or droid batteries. Or the fact that you need bioenhanced clothes and a medical droid.

More realistic would be:
100,000 cost of 30 sets of buff packs
15,000 per buff
450,000 gross
25,000 for bivo, brandy, and droid batteries
325,000 net
2 min per set of buffs
1 hour
325 k per hour

All the following can vary server to server day to day, but it should give you a good idea.
Cost of buff packs
Price per set of buffs
Cost of bivo, brandy and batteries.

In theory you could average a set of buffs every 90 seconds but that is not very realistic considering you have to collect money, manage the line, watch your bivo, brandy and driod batteries.

Don’t forget that for most, once they’ve done it for a while, public buffing is about as exciting as watching paint dry. While being boring it requires constant attention.

In conclusion public buffing as a doctor is not a good way to get rich. On the other hand you should never go hungry. A few doctors that that sell buff packs do become rich but they are the exception not the rule.

Well, due to the recent expasion I could surmise that there will be less pp seeking buffs and buying stims, although due to the quantities of creds there paying for all there new ships and gear, mabye some will have to do a bunch of extra mission grinding for the creds, I know my sales are down, but lots of pp have been tipping nicely for healing the increase in wounds, I figure theres more money in being a suplier, but it takes some pretty high end resources, extra experimentation points, a commitment to always having a stocked vendor, and a lot of advertising, achieving visability in the midst of all the other med vendors can be quite a trick; I'v made upwards of 10 million in sales on a good day, course I spend it like a viagra addict on hookers, otherwise I would be consistantly low on creds(low being less than 2mill, need that much incase I see a good avien meat aucton).

thats for your comments guys . Ashine .... my brother when he mastered doc could buff me super fast ... like all six stats in less than 10 secs .... not sure how he dont this ... any ones here know ? .... going by your email seems to me like making money would depend on how many buffs you could do in say an hour ?.... what u think ?..... if you could "super buff" you could do 10 time as many ppl at once would that mean making the 450K in like 30 min ? let me know please .

I did the same thing. I was getting tells "can you buff me" "can you buff me"? I said i was not buffing right now, and was on my way to get brandy because i was out. next thing i know everyone is trying to give me brandy, i figured it was worth a buff because it saved me the 15min trip to get some.

There is a food, Havla, that let’s you buff faster, this is probably what your brother was using. The problem is that you only get about 2 complete sets of buffs at the faster rate per Havla you eat but it takes you about 30 mins to digest the Havla. So while Havla is a great way to knock out a couple of quick sets of buffs it will not help with large numbers of buff sets. If you are not careful using havla you can end up being to full to eat more Bivoli Tempari when it runs out. Bivo adds 10 % to the power of the buffs so it is almost a necessity when public buffing when there is any competition around.
