right now I'm master swords and Master Doc trying to get into PvP but it's hard with only MSwords. All I can effictivly do is rez and buff. So I was wondering if dropping swords (and basically my PvE skills) in favor for Fencer or Pikemen is apratical andviable option for a MD.

thanks

Not really. You just have to work with a group and pick your targets. You'll have a very hard time killing TK's or fencers. But theyre a riflemans targets. Yor job is to cure posions, and colapse the fragle skulls of jedi and ranged figthers. Your 100x more effective vs them. The jedi because of the lack of armor, and the ranged fighters due to lack of mitigation. Also, make sure your using a scythe in pvp until your speed capped with an acklay hammer.

Also, pick up 0044 Combat Prowess and 4400 Enhanced Reflexes as FS skills. They'll help you a ton, because the faster and more accurate you are as a swordsman the better.

what ever you decide, make sure to keep doc. Will help you more than hurt you in the long run. You might want to consider some CM andRifleman if you drop swords.. That is always a nice temp.

ger yourself a nice hammer and speed cap and you'll do ok in pvp, rifler would be a ranged option.

As Nimhnoid said, keep Doc. Question is, do you want to focus only on PvP or PvE aswell?

If only PvP, I´d say the Master Fencer/Master Doc combo is great imho.
You´ll get an awesome def and with a CoB macro/Pikatta pie you´ll be able to perform your role as both healer and defend yourself perfect.
Also, if getting a nice acklay stun baton, any nice DoT weapons, then you´ll be....well....you could hurt peps

Now, if you want to do PvE aswell, then the Fencer/Doc temp isn´t much to brag about :/
Then I´d suggest Master Rifleman and offcourse keeping Master Doc.
Remember to stay behind your melee comrades or you´ll fast get into troubles.

There are lot´s of temps that than be combined with Doc. It´s also the choice of beeing a Master Doc or the 4(3)x4x Doc combined with other temps.

But, since I love to be able to byffs myself, not having to wait at Corolag etc, I keep my MD and choose one combat profession to it. Strict and clean.

Whatever your choice may be, I wish you the best in PvP

well my first attempt at this PvP thingwent bad. Only because I crashed, three times. I'm trying again later without swinging my sword unless I have to.

I can tell you first-hand a Master Doctor/Teras Kasi Master can wreck most Jedi

Doctor is not only viable in PvP, but with the proliferation of DOT's it is a must!

i have been doc/tk for somewhere around a year now, i have played as doc/swords, and tk just is completely better. as tk you have a pretty strong dizzy kd, you get force of will for them incaps and power boost too that gives me 500 extra ham. you just need to remember your foods, canape / brandy / and at least some steak. i absolutely agree with griggs, tk/doc is a jedi nightmare when properly prepared. they are hard to hit you can heal every state and dot with great speed and low mind cost when buffed up. center of being is great also. and tk doubles up as a pretty good unbuffed prof. i took my ranger out to lok and was killing gurks and snorbals on PB only. granted i was healing alot, i have the ability to go craft a crate of stims. Buffing .. i dont need to touch on that anymore... any brawler proffesion must utilize warcry and intimidate and any good stun attacks they may have also hook up a PSG they will save you some angst. i kinda went generalized there, but get the foods/drinks and a psg, use your states accordingly and you should see some success'. oh yea get a crate of pixie and muon for them emergency situations when your full and almost dead. vercupti is good stuff too adds 1k+ of ham for a couple of minutes (stomach fill is like 60-70 though) just some suggestions, everyone started out where you are at. what works for us may or may not help you at all, just stick with it and youll find some tricks out.

I've tried doc/fencer, doc/rifleman and just got TKM recently. This is the third and best doc/combatprof template I've tried so far, though I doubt I'll be changing anytime soon.

Whether it suits my personal playing style more, I don't know, but as a doc /rifleman with no exploration skills I would die as soon as a jedi came anywhere near me. Got jumped by a couple the other night and me and a doc/swordsman managed to kill hem both I'm still in shock as I suck when it comes to pvp. The melee toughness really helps against heavy hitters, but I should point out that I did get killed the next day by a rifle/doc sort of template.

You don't need to stick with Master doc to be good in pvp. You can do all the combat effictive stuff with just 4040 Doc. You won't be able to Rez or buff, but as long as you shop for (or stockpile) lvl 90 med use cures and state packs you'll have everything you need. 4040 Doc/Master<insert fighting prof here>is picking up popularity on Sunrunner because of the abundance of dot whores making cures nessecary.

Personally speaking i can't give up master doc, even though the points would be handy. Just not an option for me, but /agree doc3040/4040 is great against poisons and gives you about 30 pts so it's worth considering. Meduse 90 cures are available on most med vendors

i am mswords/mdoc also. i have no problem in pvping. i did have to put a little more effort into it and get force sensitive. ie melee speed plus 12. then i got 2 2hand plus 4 speed enhancements to cap. then i bought a crate of power hammers and had them all sliced. keeping the 600 plus damage ones. i use steak for for reducd damage to me. thak for reduced knockdown to me. 2 brandys, and occasionally 1 muon if the need arises. its a great pvp or pve template. your headhit 3 is your friend, use it. i have no problems banging heads with the best of them. carry dizzy state heals, they are my only weakness. and wear psg s for added range protection. your not a first line tanmg as swords. you are a awesome 2nd line tank. dont be first in, be second. back up that tkm or fencer, he has more defs than you, but as swords as fs swords, with a gret powerhammer, we do more damage. poison spice
