Thread: Limiting the size of the crates

Is there a way to limit the number of items that is stored in a factory crate without limiting the ingredents or the size of the schematic?

I'd like to offer my customers the opportunity to purchase crates but for some customers purchasing 50 at a time can be discouraging.

If this feature does not exist it should. I can't imagine that it would be that tough to implement (although you never know). It would just be one of those things that'd be real nice to have.

when yer doing stims... if you only put in 10 BECs 10 Liquids 10 Chems it can only make 10 stims, take out the crate and put in 10 more :-)

A way to adjust crate size for large orders would be fantastic. Crates of 20 stims sell much better than crates of 50, but aren't worth the time to reload the factory over and over and over again (had enough of that when factories were broken. bleah)

only way i know to do it... and if they put in a system you know it will be buggy and you will end up with 20 itmes in a crate and missing ingredients for 50... so just control the input of your ingredients, deal with the 'pain' of reloading it and be happy, another tactic is to simply make schems for 20. if you can make a great stim once, you can make it again

this is a pain for me too, my products are all top quality so pretty expensive and not everyone can afford 100k+ a pop for a crate full of stims.

What i usually do is run components over night and stims whiel online, then i can just take part filled crates out now and then so i have a selection, you end up with mixed numbers in yur crates but atleast you have the selection there.

Then again, one time someone came out to my vendor for D's, only found crates of 20 or so and one of 40 and sent me hate mail for not stocking full crates lol

ALso are you aware you can access the output hopper with out stopping the run? just select options from radial instead of selecting one of the pop ups.

I make small schematics and let them run out. Of course I have very limited supplies of the same type of meat so usually all I can get is a 25 crate anyway

I make full crates of 50. Then I take some out of the crate and sell them on the bazaar. I always make them more expensive on the bazaar by 100-200cr each. Then I shoot bazaar buyers a quick email telling them they could get the same stim off of my vendorfor less and in factory crates.

This way I can customize the crate size and generate business at the same time.

I'll add thsi to the factory issue. Good idea and looks like plenty of other folks think so too to be able to set the standard crate size manufactured.

Yeah, it'd be nice to set it, but in the meantime you can just own 4 factories, make 4 identical schematics and do runs of 10-20 in each factory at the same time.

If you can't afford to do that then you aren't charging enough for your stims.

Actually, I'd like to propose an alternative possibility. Instead of allowing us to set a limit to the size of factory crates (which they might very well mess up), I think it would be much simpler for them to allow us to *split* an existing factory crate and end up with two smaller crates.

I think this would give most of us sufficient flexibility to deal with keeping a nice range of crates available...

Actually if they let us split crates instead this wound not be a problem.

Right now my factory is working just fine and I would hate to have Sony mess it up again by trying to add a new feature.

But being able to split crates like we can do with resources would be much better.

either approach would work for me. I imagine that the splitting would be less intrusive as it already exists for other items like resources.

I like the splitting idea. Makes crates consistent with resources.
