I have a Major problem, it seems that i need lokian wild wheat to make a Advanced component (as we all know), the problem is That every time i got to my harvestor it is Guarded By 4 or 5 Agrro NPC's Or Creatures. Now i have waited for hours for them to leave, They dont . they just camp out there like its the only place to be....so my question to the devs is this. How are Medical staff (who are not fighters) supposed to retrieve thier goods man. i mean come on , can i just play Doctor like i have wanted all along why the hell do i have to not only travel freakin 10,000 meters to get to my stuff, then get slain trying to retrieve it?Your all saying **edit** and play right now i know. But i am really tired of this.....I know i could hire People to escort me to my harvestors but then we are talking about 5 or 6 thousand credits more for a resource that already costs me 800 CR and 800 Fuel a day. This is BUNK and thats MY opinion!Any Ideas will be Gladly considered Thanks,

Well, advanced parts aren't absolutely required. They're really nice, and should therefore be a little harder to obtain. If you're using advanced parts for meds that you want to sell, then you should just factor in the extra cost for your time and effort, or for hiring people to help clear the way. I take more issue with the difficult resources spawning with continually crappy stats.

I've had this problem only once, with frequent trips to Lok, but I agree it can be annoying. To get around it, you could try several approaches.

Bring a couple friends to hunt for a while on Lok while you also check on your harvester(s). Or you could get one person to run interference by using burst run and pulling every mob away from the harvester, probably dying in the process. This would hopefully giving you enough time to manage the harvester. If you are high up in doc, you could just rez him/her afterwards.

If you prefer to be solo, then you can't get by without some combat skills. If you have any marksman skills or are planning to get them, get and use warning shot. If you aren't dealing with npc's, this is extremely useful in many situations, including clearing out the path to your harvester.

This, sadly, will ALWAYS be a problem.

The beast spawn appears to be either attached to the major foot traffic areas (so if your harvester location is near a lot of other harvesters, there will be a lot of people coming and going).

Or they are attached to the resource spawn itself (meaning the bigger the lode, the more beasts that will spawn).

On Naboo, I always find Shapaut Hunters lounging around the biggest resource lodes.

You don't have much choice if you don't have combat skils. You may want to try a lower percent zone farther away from other people's harvesters to improve your chances of not getting spawned upon.

I currently have a group of warriors who will march through hell to get me components for the medicines they've grown to love.

Get an established group used to hunting big game with you, its a real thrill to look forward to once or twice a week.

Yeah, I gotta admit that if you start making really nice Stim Bs you'll get TONS of customers who just flat get addicted to the stuff! I feel like a drug dealer dangling heroin before a bunch of junkies with some of these folks. They'd defintiely make the resource runs out to Lok for free to make sure they can get more.

I dont really consider this a problem at all... the advance components should be challenging to get. As annoying as it can be if everything in the game was easy to aquire (which most of it is... this game has little risk, and little reward) then it will get boring fast.

Grab a friend or a party, or pay some "mercenaries" to come help you clean it out... or perhaps invest a bit in marksman to get warning shot, or engineer some other solution to your problem instead of complaining...

If you ever played everquest or any other immersive MMO it's like coming to the boards and complaining that "oh man, this monster is guarding my uber loot... I had to go deep into the dungeon, get a group and kill it"...

I agree that things like that can prove annoying, but problem solving is half the fun of any game. just because it's a challenge doesnt mean it shouldn't exist... "All you want to do is heal"... well all I want to do is play video games, but unfortunately I have to find a way to pay my cable and electric bills first...

cheers

I just find some minions to clear it for me. Hang out in the medical center, heal up a few folks, and then tow them along to visit your harvester. Most folks are more than willing to give a good Doc ten minutes of their time to help out in a situation like this.

I've never had a situation where I dropped a harvester in an empty area (ie cant see anything for at least 128m) only to return to find it swarming with agro mobs. On Lok in particular there are enormous areas where you'll see absolutely nothing except desert scenery. I'd say up to 1000m of nothing, right in the middle of the planet is a place where I've noticed this. But that's several thousand m away from the starport, and just beyond the no-build zone there seems to be a circumference of densely populated agro mobs.

I guess I'm trying to say that people will always try to find the spot closest to the starport to drop their harvester. And that's where dense populations of mobs seem to be (on Lok, in and around the volcano is another good place to find dense population of mobs). And of course, once someone drawsa nearbymob right on top of the harvesters, they're going to sit there until killed, seeming like they're camping the structures waiting to kill you.

I've seen similar situations on starting planets, hanging about good spots for harvesting "normal" resources. I think its more of an issue that harvesters generate lots of traffic, hence more chance to attract anything agro. I've seen binayre smugglers on talus andpacks of wrix's on Corellia for example hanging out in the middle of harvesting spots. Lots of PC traffic to the same spot, which happens to be in the middle of a lair/mob spawn area, and a structure you cant hide inside is agood wayto build up the agro density in any given resource hotspot.

There really aren't any "easy" mobs on Lok, aside from the flightless birds whose name I always forget. Flits are easy on their own, but they usually stick together. You have a better chance of running into things that will kill you every time on a planet like Lok, compared to say Corellia. But even on Corellia, the tough mobs are the ones most likely to end up hanging out on your harvesting hotspot for a long time (since the tougher they are, the less chance that someone will come by and wipe them out for you).

JayCrow, sorry for coming off like I was being a d1ck, I was merely offering some constructive critisism for your complaint... And it's not just an MMO issue, with any game when it stops being challenging it gets boring... You'll feel more accomplished if you 'solve' the problem.

"How are Medical staff (who are not fighters) supposed to retrieve thier goods man."

Buy the components from other players. Its called a player driven economy for a reason.
