Thread: What other professions are people combining with Dr?
Hi,
I am thinking of starting a Dr, but was wondering what fun combos people were creating with there Dr chars.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated
Thanks
Iss
Got to love being carbineer when you can buff that monsterous HAM appetite away ![]()
I never like getting hit for much, especially with my unbuffed self now, so that's why I chose carbineer (of course didn't know how broken it was at the time, but it's survivable still I guess). Rifle's fire too slow for my liking (and can't hit up close, blech), and pistols aren't supposed to hit that well far away (originally going pistoleer so I could get some smuggler stuff, but the char. builder I was using wasn't 100% correct, so I dropped that)
Besides that, I have scout with exploration 1 so I don't move too slow on those hills (with Hunting tree, though that goes away for Master Carbineer eventually), and ranged support tree (though that will go away soon enough as well for Master Carbineer.)
Good luck with whatever you chose.
As the sig states:
It's really nice to buff yourself and then use any pistoleer special for 7 mind and watch asyour 900 mind (500 focus 900 willpower) regens in no time ![]()
I used to be a master fencer/master doc. Man and i thought i was one of a kind =D As it was i hardly saw any master fencers on Scylla. I ran into one master besides myself.
However now im a master carbineer/master doctor. Works well since carbineer's biggest complaint is ham cost and that goes out the window with a quickenss D enhance.
Soon to be Doctor / Politician.
Tried combining Doctor with combat medic, pistoleer and CH, didnt find pistoler / CH fun, and CM felt a litle too shadowed by my doctor skills and too few skills thati actually needed.
Master Doctor
Marksman: lvl 3 Carbine
Combat Medic: 2-0-0-2
Scout: 0-0-3-0
Artisan: 0-0-3-0
I need the buisness skills to keep my vendor up. The scout is so I can harvest when in groups. Carbine is so I have atleast a basic combat ability and combat medic so I can use ranged heales and some poison/disease.
Mortos
I'm Master Doctor & Master Combat Medic with my extra 18 points being split by adding & dropping Novice Scout / Artisan. Pick up artisan for resource shifts, then once mines are set pick up scout to harvest meats when hunting.
That being said, I don't think I could solo very effectively with this setup. I belong to a very good guild thatI am a true support character for. The ability to buff folks before the hunt, cure poison / disease, rez, range heal, range AoE heal, throw poisons & diseases makes for some entertaining fun.I found in group hunting that I was healing so often that I hadn't much time to fire my carbine for xp. Even when I did fire, I couldn't have many specials up so I could disengage and heal again. Now it's let people get aggro, drop my DoT's and heal where needed. It's fun, but it's definitely group oriented.
Cheers!
