BeforeI proceed toward a Combat Class, I was wondering what all you Docs out there have picked up, and why you like it with Doctor. Thanks =)

I'm a 4440 doc about to master rifleman. Have been a master doc in the past and have also been a Bounty hunter, so I can't speak for the meelee professions.

Rifleman is among the most powerful of the combat professions. At master you are an absolute death machine at range and even up close. With strafeshot at master you can drop large groups at a time in PVE, and headshot is devastating in PVP.

Couple that with doctor and you can remove any state, stop bleeding, extinguish fire, buff yourself, and heal damage as it occurs. Pretty much unstoppable PVE with decent armor and a great support/offensive character in PVP.

A completely dedicated flavor of the month PVP'er with all the skill tapes and stacked defenses will probably own you in PVP, but you're pretty much a guaranteed trip to the cloning center for anyone else, and you can buff/heal/cure yourself and your group/guildmates.

I hit for 2019 per stat with good packs in my +25 medical smock and 2250 or so with bivoli. Some buff a bit better but those are good solid buffs.

This combo makes me a completely self-sufficient player. It also allows me to stay up long enough to dispose of the goddamn combat medics in base defense/raid situations. They throw the poison, I take it off. We can do that all night, poison stims are a hell of a lot cheaper than poison.

I've had great fun with this combo. Also thought about TK/fencer/doc in some combination, which would also be fun, but I'm more of a gun guy than a meele player.

Every time I log in I'm terrified they changed the game to Dance Dance Revolution without telling anyone after holding a "focus group"

There's nothing like a CM throwing a 900 tick disease on someone then you heal it in one shot..........lol.

there are a ton of tkm/docs out there....

for hunting in pve, few things kill as quickly as a tkm, but like the two posters above mentioned, riflemen are generally better in pvp if they know how to kite. tkm gives you some redundancies, like wound healing, state, and disease/poison healing with meditate, but i generally meditate away my wounds rather than heal them as its fast and free. i enjoy tkm, the damage output is extreme. 3500pts of damage per second and you literally never ever miss.

fencer/doc is good.... doc takes so many skillpoints you can't really template too well AND hunt for yourself. a doc/tk/fencer combo is going to be EXTREMELY tough to beat, and a doc/tk/pistoleer template can get you to ranged and melee damage mitigation 3, which means bad ol riflemen don't really hit you that hard anymore.

my guess is you will find more tkm/docs than anything. its an extremely popular combo.

I'm master Rifleman/Doc. It's extremly deadly in PVE/PVP. After that u can choose to be TKA instad of Rifleman. But to my mind Rifleman is a little bit more efficient in PVP (head shot3 power!!!!!!!!!!! ).

Carbineer/Doctor is great in PvE but poor in PvP. It's really the only way to play Carbineer because of the high HAM costs of their guns. Rifleman is the strongest because it's broken and due for a nerf in the combat revamp.

So far I have been MDoc/TKM, MDoc/MRifle, MDoc/MPistoleer, and I'm working on MDoc/Swordsman. I would have to say that my favorite combo was MDoc/TKM. On top of having +2200 HAM whenever you want, you also get your powerboost which puts you even higher, couple that with two 411 brandys, a muon and some decent composite and you are nearly unstoppable in PvE and PvP. Rifle is fun as well but since you use mind to heal yourself as well as use specials it makes it sort of hard to keep your mind up unless you are high on muon and drunk on brandy. As for Pistoleer...don't bother. Unless you had another fighting profession to back it up, pistoleer alone isnt that good. With swordsman I find it to be just as useful as it was with TKM, minus the PB. Take what you will, they are all decent, some more than others.

I am Master Rifle, Master Doc. And I have been a Master TK, and while TK was devastating I do find rifle more usefull (if a strictly PVE World that is) as TK is limited to one damage type.. find a100% Kinetic resist creature and go away crying. (I really wanted a peko albatross feather )

Just my 2 cents they are both extremely powerfull though

I've done TKM/Doc...it was fun but got boring after killing almost everything i found with supreme ease...
I tried rifleman/doc but i am absolutely despise rifleman in PvE...early on it is nearly worthless against creatures...as at close range you are very inaccurate. I suppose at higher levels it gets better, but i could not stand past the first tier.
I tried fencer/Mdoc, but it is too weak in PvE, though with doc buffs/CoB macro you are nearly unkillable, especially if you have mind healing stuff/stimpacks.
Right now i am doing HS/Doc, so far i LOVE it. It is basically a money making template, i can basically kill off janta missions in about half the time i could as fencer, and while doing it i can get janta blood to help me with my doc skills and also make 27k a mission.
Those are my combat profession with doc experiences.

all i have tried so far is MD/fencer (i mastered fencer twice...the whole thing.../bonk self) and i cant say much for the other professions, since i have not truly experienced them. It is IMHO that the TKA meditate tree is not that usefull for us doctors, since we can heal all our own minds, buff, and cure ourselfs (execpt mind wounds). Next combat profession i do will probably be pikeman, ill let you all know how that goes =p. As far as combat classes go...you should look to see if you are more interested in PVP or PVE.

There's a half decent spawn of domesticated oats on dath at the moment (on Chilastra). My rifles came in VERY handy when I found a 77% spawn of the stuff just 150m from the entrace to the NS cave.

I"ve seen master docs with master TKA every where. and they are power full but the first time you come up on a 100% Kin resis creature you are SOL... (thankfully there arnt many). rifleman, swordsman, or fencer would be better IMO as you get a range of not so commonly resisted wepons. Stun on fencer and Rifleman, Blast on swordsman... (dotn know what other damage types they get as i've never personaly masterd fencer and swordsman). but what ever prof you pick the ability to heal your self for 2k completly re filling your health bars is a BLAST!!!!! just be sure your on a double brandy veg canapie and keep a muon ready so you dotn have to worry about mind cost and the regen is ubsurdly quick and you can tank ANYTHING excluding PVP at which point youi'll be a pain in the butt to kill.
