Thread: Enhance Pack Variability Poll (Another Vote!)

Since our Dev asked how we felt about this,I thought I should toss out a quick poll. Just 3 options, choose only one. (Just toss out the number in a post by itself will be fine.)

We all know that Enhance packs have a very wide variability on how much they buff for. Would you be willing to accept a reduction in that variability if it meant that you would lose those occasional great bouffs, but also means you would no longer have to put up with really poor buffs?

1) Yes, if we are still talking some smaller amount of variability.

2) Yes, if we are talking about a fixed buff every time (based on the stats of the pack and your skills, of course), i.e. NO variability at all anymore.

3) No. I'd rather have the greater variability to make sure I get soem awesome buffs, even if i means an occasional bad buff as well.

Just let me know 1, 2 or 3.

I would rather not buff myself for 200pts than to possibly buff for 1000pts. If it was within a 200 pt range I would be happy...ie 600-800...not 200-1100. Unless you can remove your buff lose and re-buff to try to get 1100....but thats just annoying...and exploitable.
Thanks,
You guys do realize, that on a kit you craft for 800 heal base, that is the BASE ammount? Meaning the lowest enhance you will get is 800. To get the base that high, you have to experiment on *experimental effectiveness*.

It's not called guaranteed effectiveness. It's experimental. If you don't like the inconsistant buffs, don't experiment the EE, but rather do the charges, or ease of use when it is fixed. That will solve your problems.

It all works EXACTLY like it is supposed to.

I say #2, I typically charge up front for them and if I know exatly what they will get I can feel better with quoting a price.
Nothing worse than saying 1K for a buff and they ony gett 300 points added.

#2 - Better to have consistent results for customers rather than the occasional 'sorry, moons not aligned' especially on the stats they really care about.

Umm... what do you mean?

I've gotten lower than the base buff plenty of times.

It doesn't seem to affect the buff variance either way, I've gotten great buff with experimented pack as well as non-experimented buff packs.

One thing I HAVE noticed, even though I am sure it is all in my mind is that after you buff someone, then he immediately die, and I rez him, the second round of buffs ALWAYS hit for great amount.

I know it sounds CREAZY, but it happened just one too many times to disregard it I think.

If as part of making the master Docs feel special they introduced an enhance E, I would accept removing any variability. (#2)

Otherwise, #1

You can chalk my vote up for #3 and let me explain why. If you make a good quality enhance pack with a base boost of 800+, that is the minimum you should be buffed for...not bad at all.But by allowing a random roll to give you a shot at 2600+(2736 is my current high), I'm willing to chance it to get a great one like that unless theyre willing to make the effectiveness increase enough so that I can still achieve monster buffs by taking the time to build a great product. I personally enjoy the gamble involved and let all my customers know that theyre getting a decent base boost with a chance for a monster buff.

My opinion is this: all that will come out of this is the devs saying "Oh, players are getting buffed for almost 3k per stat? That's ridiculous, how are commando's and BH's supposed to one shot everyone if the docs are buffing them that much? Nerf!"

And then we will be stuck with 300-900 enhances with a D pack.

But seriously, we've gotten spoiled. Even the low enhance periodically of 800 is still an awesome buff! What else gives you 800 on a stat? Only like 1 food and 1 spice. We have it very good, don't go bringing attention to this and causing buffs to get toned down. my 2 cents
