Thread: Forum Login Problems Since Yesterday? Please Read

Yesterday we made a signifacant update to the forum software. Part of the update is to address logging inin and staying logged in. If you are having problems logging into the forums since yesterday, Wed, 06/09(eg: You cannot get in at all on a specific account that is in good standing) Please fill out the following form

It does not require a login so you should be able to fill it out fine.

Please Make sure to include the Following Info:

Station name
Forum handle(fan club handle)
Browser version
Describe what exactly is happening in your attempts

Example:

JoeBeta
JoeJedi
IE 6.01
When I try to log in it just returns me to the login page with a "please log in" message, no matter how many times I have tried.

Update didnt work then,
people are still needing to log in all the time, and timing out
Timing out, socket setup on the server is not perfect.
And its clear you having big problems with you session control, cookies and servlets.
How many layers in the JSP system do you use?
what you going to try next?

I am getting logged out of the forums more frequently than I had been before and when I log back in often find myself back at the main page of the site and not in a forum at all. This is especially annoying if I had been replying to a post when I got logged out because I lose all that I had written and I then have to find the post I had been replying to all over again and retype my response.

How true

I alway have another window up and refresh it to make sure I am still logged in so I don't have to retype everything.

there's another problem i've been having:

when i go to type a reply, i have to click the text in the Message Subject line and tab down; clicking in the Body field does nothing and i am unable to type anything without tabbing down from the Message Subject line. This is just a minor nuisance compared to the login bug though, but i thought you guys should know i am having this problem and maybe others are having this problem as well.

Is this information send along to the customer service? I hade a live chat with one around this time and he said (in general) that it is something wrong with my computer.

I tried to tell him that I was a computer technician (and network engineer) and I keep my computer clean and in working order, but it was talking to a wall.

I'm not sure this is the appropriate place for this post, and if it is not, please delete it.

It appears that the forums have a new skin, a Secrets of the Force one. However, in my profile I have it selected to use no skin (the default one). On the general forums listing it works fine (such as the "list all professions" listing), but once I enter a forum (such as the carbineer's forum) it changes back to the droids rebuilt skin.

As this is a problem with the forums I thought it might be appropriate to post here...

No login problems. But there is now an issue where Community Leaders are being reverted Elders.

I am having a weird little problem with my board PMs. I cannot access the PMs on any screen except the main SWG forums page if I have a new mail. I am using IE 6.0.2800.1106. It works fine if I don't have a new message but If I get a new message It will not let me in if I click either the Text or the envelope icon.

i had problems loggin in all day today until now. and then something is screwy where it won't post a message, or it decides to post 6 of the same messages. FAB. btw, this login hassle seems to happen many times a week. major asz pain.

yes i have to click the message subject bar so my little typing icon comes up because it wont if i just click straight on the subject box

also the option to remember me wehn signing in sucks! it never does lol

Still cant stay logged in, no one can.

The other issue is that you will post a reply to a thread or start a thread and then you when posted end up on another.

firefox 0.9 and IE6.02 same problem either browser

Almost every time I try to log in, and regardless of where in the forums i initiate login (reply to message, login button etc...) The forums go back to the main forums page with the added legend "trying to authenticate through the login server". It will take me several attempts spaced over time to get logged in. Of course by then people have already posted the replies to messages that I wanted to post.
