Thread: “Oh my…sir, he says there are several creatures approach
Thragvii you bring up some good points, although your tone is less than constructive. Let me start off by clarifying my position. I am focusing on PvE and not PvP. For PvP, you are absolutely correct, but for PvE CHs are way more powerful. A MCH can solo creatures that a MBH, Master Commando, etc would not dream of soloing. That was my point.
Now, as I also stated, I would be curious to know the developers' definition of balance. It may very well be that if you are a PvPer you would then becomea BH or Commando, whereas if you are a PvEer you would want to become a CH. I think this is a valid stance for the developers to have. However, from the posts that devs have made in the past, it sounds like they are talking about classes being balanced in PvE and PvP separately. Maybe this has changed, as may their whole perspective on balance. I would just like to know if a) they want balance in each aspect, b) a CH is dominant in PvE and BH/Commando is dominant in PvP, c) they don't want balance at all.
I would also like tosuggest to the developers that if they are trying to balance professions in some manner, they should look at power per skill point and not just the overall class.
On a personal note, I did not think I was whining. In fact, I do not like wholesale changes in a profession at this stage in the game. Frankly, my preference is to just know what the developers intentions are so that people can plan their character. As for not knowing what I'm talking about, while my toon on Naritus is a BH/Pistoleer, I also play a CH, Ranger, Architect, DE, Musician, and Doctor on other servers. I have also dabbled in other professions as well.
Thragvii, I would also suggest that you change the tone of your posts, so that instead of creating hard feelings and wasting time and forum space defending ourselves and attacking others, we can all work together to fix/improve SWG. That should be our ultimate goal - to help each other and the developers so we can ALL have fun.
Finally, I'd like to give some encouragement to TH. He's been getting harassed by some of the forum trolls. TH, IMHO in your short time thus far as an SOE employee, you have done more to improve communication and the direction of this game than anyone would have imagined. You are making a difference, and I hope you do not get discouraged and burned out. I also hope that SOE realizes your value and fully takes advantage of your work and information. While I do not always agree with all of your ideas, I like where you are taking us, and I will help in any way I can.
