For those players on Test Center, Publish 7 is now on Test Center. If you get a chance, please log on and try out some of the new features and feel free to comment on:

· Droid Damage Repair Kits and Droid Wound Repair Kits – how are they working for you?

· Droid Battery consumption rate halved (enabling them to last twice as long) – Is this working correctly?

· Droids will no longer be susceptible to poisons, bleeds, /warcry or /intimidate) – Is this working correctly?

· Have you found any issues with crafting Combat Droids? How did the modules work? What were the quality levels and how did they stack?

· Can combat droids attack both ranged and melee? How did they work for you?

As far as battery usage is concerned, i did notice being able to use my med droid without recharging for almost 3 hours (calling it for 3-4 minutes at a times, not more than 30-45 mins overall i think...)

Also, Tetsuya (Master DE) made a combat enabled droid, but it had 60 hp and did 20 damage. We were all shocked, but this was maybe a fluke, bad ressources or a low level module, i am not sure. We'll need to monitor droids closely, folks will be dissapointed if they end up as strong as nunas!

Also TH, welcome back from vacation, you can congratulate Rogue_5, he gave us patch notes every update and warned us of downtimes on the boards! He deserves a cookie!

Am truly hoping that was a fluke. I used my best resourses, got 90's in experimetation (after suffering 5 crit fails in a row on simple items, nice new crafting routine, thanks devs).

When i get on after work, am going to make a adv probot and see what happens from there.

had canceled because of the CU. Got talked into re subscribing just days before the NGE was started on Test Center (my home).

Ok, I've noticed a couple things. First of all, combat modules don't seem to be stacking, and experimentation doesn't seem to be doing much for them. I made an advancedDZ70 with 2 combat modules (could only experiment them up to 22 module rating each due to low skills) and a regular DZ70 with one combat module (got a crit fail on experimentation, wound up with a 13 on the module rating). The only difference between the 2 droids (other than that I had put armor on one) was a 1 point increase in damage (the advanced with 2 higher quality modules was 1 point of damage higher). the damage repair kits worked great, batteries did seem to last considerably longer, didn't notice anything with the bleeds/poisons/etc, and the ranged attack option worked great.

Also, experimentation on the combat modules was screwed up. I'd experiment and get a success, yet the module rating would go down, sometimes I'd fail and it would go up. I know this has been happening with some of our other stuff on live too.

TH , is the command to upload a char on TC working toallow more master DEtest this changes ?
I think it is important for the DE community to have a fullview of those changes.

That is one of the main issues we've had since start, the pitiful HAM of the droids.

They've made of metal and things and yet they've worse then most live things, even in "back-yard level".

At least make it possible to fix the HAM with experimentation or resource sepcs.
Makes no sense to have a combat-able 60 HAM droid that is killed in one hit of a nuna no matter how good its armor is.

Well, since character copy is nothing but vaporware at this point, everything I know has been from reports in the DE forum.

It seems as though you ripped out the inherent functionality ofa Probot, and gave it back to us in little pieces.

You also are allowing us to duct tape blasters to R-units.

Both of these things expressly go against what the community said they wanted - uniqueness of chassis and we emphatically said we didn't want, nor do our customers want, R2 units with such limited, rediculous combat ability.

All this droid invasion does is make making Probots much more complex to make.

You added repair kits - which require so many subcomponents that players can expect to either a) not find them very readily, or b) pay through the nose for them. That is something that should have been addressed oh, I don't know, six months ago. Regardless, adding repair kits does not equal a "droid invasion".

The average person will see nothing new - since most DE's have already said we will not make R2's with blasters (not that anyone wants them anyway, since they have 1/3 HAM of Probots) - except for repair kits, and that's a rather weak way to hang a publish.

For DE's, this patch means much more work, subcomponents, and way higher prices to compensate.

I hope you guys have the good taste not to actually name the publish "The Droid Invasion" - or it will become as made fun of as the "Un-crackdown", because while you seem to have tinkered with several things, the end result is going to be rather transparent in-game.

PS - TH, if you are going to use Office to write your posts, can you kindly format them properly for these boards before youcopy/paste? It's increasingly frustrating to quote you without doing copy/paste gymnastics - since I am sure you want the communication lines to be as unobstructed as possible you will surely understand how important it is not to frustrate the hell out of people every time they try to reply to you. Dozens of people having to do this versus one person doing it in the first place - would save a bit of unneeded frustration.

Ok, spent way too much time making one probot, best experimentation I could get was 88% making 5 modules rated Quality 22, Combat rateing 94. Made one combat socket and installed all modules into a adv probot. socket has a rateing of 282. The probot after max experimentation has a 820 HAM, 40% resists with 2 lvl 6 armor modules.

First test, Blindeyed Gunman volenteered to be the target. Fight was over in 5 sec. probot hit him twice for 47 points each.

Second test, wandered around and found a nuna minding its own buisness near a harvester. After a long battle the probot won, but not before its ham was reduced to 310. It's best hit against the nuna was 71. The nuna's best hit was 110.

please take this patch back and flush it if this is going to be the best we can expect with combat droids. I'll keep working on it and hope for the best. but if this goes to the other servers as is, I'm going to retire as a DE. This is too much of a joke to be a 'invasion'.

I don't play on test, but I have to admit this sounds pretty weak.

No one wants to use astromechs to fight, but we're getting them anyway, and the damagerepair kits sound like they're turning out to be a white elephant. I'll need another two factories if they go live like that.

And before I forget;

No Droid Engineer asked for, or wants, to be able to turn astromechs into combat droids. It is so totally non-appropriate to Star Wars I can't believe it was even considered for a minute, much less implemented.

We were told that combat modules will only fit into 'combat' chassis.

Does anyone have a list from TC of the chassis that combat modules will fit into?

My skill isn't high enough to list all the schematics.

Are combat modules going into all chassis, or only certain ones?

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Where do you get that idea?

The stats on the Probot were made CL-10 last patch (or the one before that).

The second half of the invasion is only utility droids - if you can call blowing smoke for entertainers and exploding MSE's utility.

This is IT for combat droids, guy. Until they force Droid Handler down our throats.
