Last Week'sThread:

Welcome to the Weekly Discussion Thread. This thread is for commenting on general live issues, asking questions and reporting known issues.

A few answers from last week's thread:

PanzerGR wrote:

poisons need a balance. They are too overpowered for larger PvP skirmishes. No mitigation reductions, no PvP damage reduction, no resist reductions apply to them. Pretty powerful stuff for a class that requires the leats amount of combat XP for a combat class.

The goal with the combat balance is to bring everyone and everything into a very fun, very playable range.

Hey TH, we've had a really annoying bug pop up on live this week - just since the trickle-out maybe? It seems like grouping isn't being considered in loot rights correctly anymore. I've been seeing it in groups for Voritor Hunter groups on Dantooine. It's like nobody does enough damage on their own to get rights. Hasn't happened solo.

If I try to loot, I get a message saying I don't have permission to access the corpse.

It seems like someone is always out of range in these groups, but group leaders are unable to kick them. Disbanding and reforming doesn't seem to help.

Groups are all different composition, newbs and masters, ranged and melee, with and without pets. The smallest group I've been in is probably about 8 and it was there as well as in groups of maybe 15-16.

It wouldnt have anything to do with the trickle patch specifically. None of that gets integrated until Tuesday. It was reported last week though. Ill track it.

are you guys making any progress on the 'NPC stuck in wall' bug?

With each publish, we're making strides with this. There is some more progress made with this publish. AI code is very tricky though.

There is a couple with the Bestine Political Quests and there is a Museum in bestine that also gives quests that has pictures as a reward.

Wookiee armor will be in the game sometime between publish 7 and publish 8. Im working on getting the crafting apron added to the schedule. Its too early to comment on though.

Any way to make the jabba music stop if say another group of entertainers comes in and starts playing? I know there's options for both background and player music, its just anoying to have to keep switching between the two. Would be nice if the background music volume would go to zero when listening to player music (tho there should be an option to disable player music since I understand people can get very tired of it...)

Could we get some kind of a response on the AFK-Looters in the Borgle Bat Cave on Rori? I see the same people there every day running an outside program to loot the debris piles while they aren't even in game. Aren't using outside macro programs like this against the EULA?

The TKM that was constantly beating on the thing looted some venom and gave out some to a lot of the people there. My question is,a lot of BE's were assuming that the "Secret Research Data" would be found somewhere in the Geo lab, but no one has found it. Is it in the game at all? A simple yes or no would be fine with me, it would help stop the "What's the secret research data and where can I find it?" threads in the BE forum. If we know it's not in the game, we can quit looking, but if it is, I'll start doing a lot of quests for scientists. Thanks.

Help me out here. I havent been through the dungeon on live. What is "Secret Research Data" and why do you think its in the bunker? Did the herald tell you that?

Secret research data is an optional component that can be placed in chef supplements that BE's make. When a BE goes to craft a supplement, there is an optional slot that is labeled, "Secret ResearchData." It's so secret, that no one has any clue on what it is, or where one would get it. The BE's ASSUMED that it would be in the bunker because it had a bio-engineer theme to it. We thought, hey, secret research data, new dungeon with bio'd animals in it, the data MUST be in there. But it hasn't been located. Thanks for the response, I should have been more specific.

Houses are disappearing again. I refer you to the Architect forum, the Corbantis forumand the Core forum. This is a disaster of a magnitude not seen since the Vendor Bug.

Why is the /assist command is so weak? Here is what I would like to see. Typing /assist with a player mate targeted will change your target window to that players target. Typing /assist {Name} will change your target window to {Name}s target. Targeting a MOB and typing /assist will put the target of a MOB in combat in you target window. /assist should not open fire on your targets target. (I hope this makes sense)

What will this do for group combat? Manny things! First having the /assist command put your targets target in your target window, without opening fire, will allow you to target a group mate that is in trouble, /assist, and then use some type of knockdown, or poster change to buy your group mate a little time. Having /assist {Name} will allow you to have a true tank in a group. Letting the tank take the MOB, then the group can /assist {Name} and all open fire on the right target. Last, having /assist MOB change your target window to the MOBs target window will allow you to easily determine who the MOB is attacking and heal that person.

And if someones house does disappear then we really need the CSRs to do something besides claim that the house owner must have justlet their maintenance go to 0. Thats not at all helpful.

This might not have much to do with live yet... (it will tomorrow though) but you (TH/DEV's) said that droid armor was lowered to balance them with CL10 Pets, now I found this in the DE forums... one of our brothers has made a survey to see the differences between droids and pets:

ADV R3 with a max Combat Rating of 600 and 100% Effective Experimenation has

  • 330 HAM
  • 70 - 80 Damage
  • 1.5 Speed
  • 0.35 To Hit

ADV Probot with500 ratingand sameExperimentation has

  • 990 HAM
  • 110 - 130 Damage
  • 1.5 Speed
  • 0.35 to Hit
  • 20% resist AR0

Cl 10 Bantha

  • 4232 Health
  • 3316 Action
  • 1916 Mind
  • Kin14%
  • Blast14%
  • Vuln to rest
  • 55-65 damage
  • Speed 1.98
  • Special 1-Dizzy

This looks a little bit unbalanced to me, I realise some BE's are gonna get upset by this saying we are asking for a BE nerf... but that is NOT the case.

When you consider the fact that Pet's can be buffed that little bantha is gonna be kinda strong. So I was wondering if there is any way to add some sort of buff/improvment system for droids.Like energyshields or something that would have a time decay and could be applied like buffs... or if the droid armor could simple get raised a little bit.

TH,

I just paid 4 million for a +10 Artisan Experimentation/+10 something else/-5 something else. You can guess which part I care for.

When can I know that this is going to work as per your Friday Feature article and give me the +10 Artisan Experimentation?

If it doesn't do I have recourse through a CSR?

Sincerely,

Fivo Asia

I would liek to add on this if I could, MBE seem to be forgotten in this area, is there an idea or oconsept for BE's to get one as well? And on the topic of BE's, What is the status on the new pet in the Geo caves?

I wish that the rewards for themeparks would be absolutely predictable, or at least if there are going to be random rewards that the frequency of them be split down the middle at 50/50. That TIE pilot suit has proven hard to get for people, and I have no doubt that the schematic for the new vehicle from the Corellian Corvette will be the "rare" reward also. Please make them more even.

Also, is the house placement bug going to be addressed? I'm talking about the one that can be exploited to allow solid walls of houses. If the bug has already been fixed, then the existing walls of houses need to be broken up, or else the message is sent to players that it is ok to cheat. While I'm on the subject of cheating, I am surprised that innocent people accidentally got banned for sneaking into the Geo cave before it opened, while some people who did exploit the lock didn't.

I have a bad feeling about this nerf

When are you going to add a reset for the Krayt Skull Quest?

I'm stuck on the Borvo the hutt protion because I started this quest when it was broken and now that it is fixed I can not continue. I asked a CSR to reset my quest and he said they can not do that.

In fact, the auto-response made it sound like I was trying to scam some loot or the get a free skull.

I personally know people who had this quest reset, so you either have CSR who are doing things they are not suppose to being, i.e. resetting quests, or you have CSR who don't know what they are allowed to do.

I'm not trying to bash the CSR because they have a tough job, but I really wasn't happy with the response.

Anyway, just slap a reset NPC next Borvo so those of us who did the quest when it was broken can finish it.

Thanks.
