Thread: Desired Rewards
This is too much to read all the way through but I do like the idea of quests that reward schematics for crafters ... too much is just given to players on a plate in this game. I also like the idea of quests that allow you to set a new title above your character name, non-profession related- titles like "Tusken Nemisis" or similar.
I know this is not a new concept, but i just want to reitterate- WE NEED MORE SKILL POINTS. You know what you can put at the end of a long, hard dungeon? Ten skill points, one per looter.... and the raiding party can decide which to get. Make this a reward players can get only once a week, or less if you feel like it, and you will keep people in the game. I dont understand why skillpoints are limited... i learn how to use a blaster and suddenly i forget how to cook? I learn how to use a creature, and sudenly my medpacks dont work? I realize you have to cap advancement somewhere, but how about making it Trail off a bit.
1. Advanced players will continue their struggle in the civil war.
2.Solo exercises against advanced creatures will be possible by more than creature handlers.
3.I wont have to buy 3 accounts to Sing, Heal, and Fight with, and another to craft with, because SOE decided ONE CHARACTER PER SERVER. That's all well and good, monetarily... which i dont fault you on, considering that everyone in EQ had a lvl 65 Cleric, Enchanter, and Shaman in their back pocket for buffing purposes, but you are REALLY LIMITING CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT past the 2 month marker... and that just wont cut it in a system designed to run indefinately for roleplay purposes.

Here is a idea im thinking of just to try to keep the balance on the crafters. Why don't u make the really long quest drop rare schematics. And to make it better make the drops on the same quests random that way the same schematic is not at the same place for the same people. This Schematic system will encourage quests alot and also give specific artisans who take the time to do them some advantages.
My second idea is that some drops or gifts should not be armor or weapon related. Some should be just rare Monsters like the Nightsisters Mutant rancors quests. This quest should be REALLY LONG but a the end u should get a special Rancor or another pets as a gift for ur service to the Nightsister Clan. Also making some NPC personnel available from other factoins for a long and trusted service would help too. This would make for an interesting blend of aliances and give a whole new aspect to Factions ratings with certain clans. In turn this would solve the major problem of people not gettting anything out of the long Leia Theme Park missions and also the Imperial Dark Jedi missions on Dathomir.
One last idea is to allow rare house schematics based on ur Ratings with certain factions this would increase the money and new ideas for architects like the Kunga houses or the really cool floating things from the Singing mountain clan cities. These r also schematics that would add some flare to the game without affecting the money based environment of the market system.
To everyone this is just an idea and i don't know if u would like it but im offering something new - I think ![]()

It's been said before, but I think it's brilliant and within the "don't hurt the crafters" line of thought:
One shot schematic for unique or rare, very good item. Be it a piece of clothing, a weapon, something with a distinct look, you know, that could become a piece for collectors.
My 2 cents
/sarcasm
I like the new credit loots. 13 credits is my high since the patch :-\
Now THAT I like. Make the loot a schematic. Possibly even tradeable.

I'd like to see some sort of furniture schemtic or other type of schematic in a dungeon that allows a crafter to make that item. Perhaps the shematic would be random and dependant on your class. Basically there would be 10 different furniture schematics foran architect and that architect can only have 1 of these unique schematics that disapear after a month (not the schematic from the datapad but the schematic from the dungeon). This would go for every crafter profession.
There have been some very good ideas here some that I like the most are:
Extra Limited skill points: These should be very rare non static quests that any random NPC could give out from the moisture thief in the middle of no where to Liea..... And only one or two of these a day per server!
Badges given for difficult multi quest missions like jabbas missions
Rare schematics for components to already existing items not finished products!
Rare resources like bronzium iron that never seem to be on any planet handed out in small quantitys for artisan missions rather then the same old credits......
One time only uber rewards like Mandalorian Armor (ONLY ONE SET PLEASE) given to a person that completes some kind of incredibly hard chain of random quests or is responsible for one side winning a battle in the galactic civil war......
What I dont want to see:
More krayt tissue like rewards, I am a crafter and while krayt tissue and other enhancers add a nice unique addition to the crafting it also creates negative feelings between the crafting and adventure proffesions as crafters cannot kill the items that drop these things we need the adventures to do this for us, but the adventures want to charge us huge prices to buy these things! Or they come to us wanting to finished products crafted with that rare item that they got immediately whenyou may not have all top of the line ingredients and because of his rush for the product he recieves a product substandard to what he was expecting! I myself am tired of trying to explain the armorsmith profession to all the gunslingers........
Schematics for finished uber items, this takes out all experimentation for uber item and will create a large demand for these schematics which will draw from the other normal products thecrafters have workedhard to collect good resources for!Its already bad enough that all everyone wants is composite armor.....
NPC's that give the same uber quest over and over each NPC should be completely random unless he is the starting point for a chain of quests like say Jabba's missions......
Okay my own unique ideas:
Okay I am not much of a pvper as my account is a crafter but I do feel the GCW should be a huge part of the SWG universe and right now I think its just a pointless hack and slash lets shoot at each other for no purpose then to claim I am the most uber shooter......
Crafters need to be part of the GCW we should be able to craft big ION cannons and other huge fortified lasers...... That should be mounted onto turrent buildings that need to be fitted with armor plates wow I just gave 3 proffesion the Armorsmith, Weaponsmith and Architect a new job they could do for some rebels or imperials that may come to them with the schematics that they found for the different components after doing quests........
Infact it could be a quest in and of itself to find an armorsmith to make armorplates for a rebel or imperial turrent and apon completing it you see the armorplates added to a turrent on a secret imperial or rebel base that is only found by an imperial or rebel after doing another quest that reveals the waypoint to it......
There should be areas that are off limits to rebels where imperial bases are being errected and the only people that have access are neautrals and imperials or vice vrsa....... Infact there could be a quest which the reward would be a camoflauge kit that would allow an apposing faction member to be permited inside of this area he would not normally be able to go to.........
When said bases are completed there is a system wide message stating the imperials have completed a base as said coordinates on said planet and its only a matter of time before the imperials have control of said area....... Thus opening a window in which the protective barrier drops and now all opposing faction members are allowed to attack........ If the other faction succesfully defends they maintain control of said area and protective shield is errected again and will only allow players who have completed the comoflauge missions for the opposing faction entry and to add a unique twist put a secret opposing faction NPC inside of that area and if he is found and his quest is done it allows the faction another new section of time to attack that base again to try to destroy it thus taking the opposing factions control away!
It may be a coding nightmare but its makes the GCW have a purpose and even includes the crafters so we can pick or choose whom we may want to craft for if we do it for free or if we charge them an arm or a leg......
If player crafters are the ones who can make the absolute best items in the game, and there is nothing that you can happen upon via quest or hard fought hunt that is better thab what everone else can buy from the same store as you, then once you hit a certain level and attain a certain amount of money.... there is absolutely no reason to hunt or do quests at all. you and everyone else at your level will all have the same crafted items. What is the point of this? I mean afterall, i will still be wearing the player crafted items when I go out looking for the very rare uber loot. Giving us something to hunt down and chase after will not eliminate the importance of crafting...... especially if you work hard at fixing the bug and continue to bring in new players who need to buy low end goods.
its just a silly design philosophy and if youhang onto it much longer you will be holding as your head goes underwater and your ship sinks
