That was really Cool. I really enjoyed the BETA screenshots. Seeing that makes me understand how much you care about this game. To Take the time you did to make that makes me realize how important the game and star wars is to you. Nice Job !! I think we have someone behind the scenes who Depply wants to see this game continue to be an enjoyable experience. Thanks

Shouldn't the 27th be the anniversary, though?

Ah, the memories. Dev boards for those not in beta, an endless flood of "Lift the NDA!,","EB says it's released on the 26th, IGN says...", and so on, then the mad rush when they told us the release date on the 17th.

Logging in the first day to Daeric, walking to 0,0 for a survey mission (about 3.5km, and the survey missions were bugged for a while,) and attempting to walk to Nashal after that (Another 3km.)

Died.

Tried again.

Died again.

Learned my lesson.

A few weeks where "SWG Connection Lost" was the most common message I saw, to be changed in a single patch. Also a few weeks where CDEFs flooded the bazaars for 20 credits because we had heard about usage XP. One day Starsider went down, so I went to Tarquinas (the unofficial GAT server, supposedly,) and created an entertainer as something of a joke. Met some folks in the Fallen Star and spent as much time on there as Starsider until December (residents of Tarquinas familiar with the old Oasis may understand.) My char stands as a 4/3/
4/2 Musician.

Living in Kor Vella without terrain negotiation (tough trip from spaceport, crafting area, and bazaar/bank to the cantina,) hunting durnis without marksman to make bone armor.

Moving to old Anchorhead, some of the best days in the game were had there. PA hall was 3200m away, on the way to Wayfar. Never understood why Aries put it so far away, months before we even had mounts.

My Christmas holocron told me to go pike. I will celebrate my personal SWG anniversary after I get up by mastering the first and only holo I've read. I will then commence a tour of the galaxy, taking 2 missions on each planet, armed with a CDEF pistol on Talus, Corellia, and Tatooine. I will then log onto Tarq for the first time in months and play the fizzz in the Fallen Star (I'm sorry, slitherhorn is much too painful.)

I will end my day in a trip to Bestine and then to the memorial, not only for Moraj but for all the friends that have been lost in the past year. I'm lucky enough not to have lost any personally, but I remember reading about all too many of them on these forums. And not only for those who have passed on, but for the friends I've made and both lost track of and continue to know in the game. Because in the end, SWG is just a game, and what makes it is the people in it.

And I was just kidding about the anniversary remark.


p.s. As someone who has done some limited programming (largest was a few hundred lines of code,) I have nothing but respect for those who work on this game. Debugging and adding features can be annoying when it doesn't go the way you want it even at that small level, I can't imagine what it's like in this thing.
