Voluntary in game, guide program to assist players in need of assistance at the 'now' rather than waiting for a response ticket.

Also, I am not a big fan of un-original names and would like to see a better naming policy enforced.

On my server, I have names like

PootieTang

TheBigHairyOne

BobaPhat

WeednRice

Fat'Albert

etc....

This makes gameplay seem more like a 12 year old's AOL chat room

1. I'm echoing all the other sentiments of people waiting for some Ranger luv. I'm one of those that wants lots of Vs. creature bonuses. Make us the best at creature PvE! That is what Ranger is for!

2. Also, again, the AT-ST and AT-AT both need to be faction VEHICLES with overt/rank required.

3. Give those rebel scum something in the way of faction vehicles to balance it out.

4. Speeder cars and anything else with 2 seats should be able to carry a passenger.

5. How about making neutral a real faction. Make it criminal or Hutt faction or something like that. We'd have our faction preks and be able to trade, group, or fight with either Rebs or Imps. Make neutrals that underground that's supposed to exist in the Star wars Universe. I figure that a covert imp or reb is just a law abiding citizen of the empire who either likes or dislikes the current government, but doesn't join the fight because they're not a terrorist or not in the military.

6.see point 1. I mean it.

With the recent Jedi changes, there is a greater chance of Jedi "showing off" in cities without much danger. While many of the Jedi changes are breaking continuity with SOE/LucasArts blessing, it seems to me that Jedi should still be strongly encouraged to be in hiding, particularly in Imperial controlled cities.

As part of the "Imperial Crackdown", can't this be tweaked somewhat to discourage showing off near starports and such? I would think any Stormtrooper hearing a lightsaber open would run to find out what's going on and would attack once they see the Jedi (as well as giving the Jedi a TEF once attacked).

I would also think that opening a lightsaber in town would be cause a massive hit on the Bounty Hunter mission terminals although admittedly I'm not sure how to counter the BH and Jedi friends helping each other get fast xp/credits. Perhaps if you just went with the Stormtrooper attention idea (above) and had those Stormtroopers call in reinforcements (lots of them) that would properly discourage Jedi from showing off and ruining continuity in that regards.

NPC Cities....Something needs to be done to spread people out so they just don't concentrate in one area (Coronet,Dantooine). So looking at both of those cities trying to figure out whats there that people want. Coronet: 1) Starport flies to all the major planets and most of the good adventure planets,2) Entertainers always there to heal BF. 3) Doctors always here for buffs. 4)Other players always here for training. Dantooine/Dathomir are concentrated mainly for the grinding purpose. Good Xp animals all over to fight.

So loking at that its no wonder most npc ities are vacant. My suggestion was (sense the npc cities are supposed to be revamped into theme parks) besides having just apartments to rent, Merchants need to be able to lease store fronts in alot of the other vacant buildings. MY suggestion on this to make it unlike a house is your lease building is conected with our bank acounts safety deposit box you can continually rent the area nd depending on your merchant level depends on wich building you can acquire. After acquireing teh building you get 50 or so items you can place in it but they have to be in your safety deposit box in order to drop them just in case of eviction purposes from late rent. But you could get a cool sign on the store front depending on what level merchant you were. ect ect. Same goes for entertainers those that haven't master can acquire a building to create a club with that will generate more xp's for entertainers in them and can have a bar and other stuff. This would be more for those that aren't masters and don't have the ability to drop player city cantinas. Along the lines of the merchant a master crafter can alos buy a city store front.

IMO this should bring a city like feel to the npc cities along with those that rent apartments there it will feel like a cool place to live. As for raids like the tusken raids and the droid invasions those need o happen alot also or even rowdy mobs. Just my 2 cents. SorryI can't explain it much better i'm just not that god of a writer LOL

I know thi is a long shot but to add to the GCW/JTL not everyone is interesed in being just an imperial or just a rebel there are otehr faction int he game that would be cool to be a part of and would add another level to the game and a great deal of content for instance be of jabba, faction corsec faction, nightsister faction. And hav it work like the normal GCW stuff but you can pick your side in battle. Just a thought

I would like it if skill points were removed from the Politician Profession. Having no skill points does not imbalance anything in the game one bit, just as having no skill points for piloting wont. It will encourage more people to get involved in the pilitical structure of their respected cities, instead of them being vendor huts and factory storages.

Also will help so there isnt a sole character created just to be a mule. Seriously consider this Thunderheart. I have been saying this in Open Discussion threads for many many months now. This really needs a look at.

TH, is force choke, force lightning, and force weakensupposed to be blocked by armor??? Just wondering if this is intended or a mistake in the programing. I would think that these specials wouldbe considered "light saber damage" so as tosomewhat balance them out with the light sabertree. Please clarify. Thanks.

1: Change the JtLS vet reward to reward anyone who has had an active account for 6 months strait, instead of restarting the count if an account has been closed for an ammount of time more then a couple of days. Think about it, your basicly punishing anyone who has been a member of this community for a long time but has had to leave the game for more then a few days do to various reasons such as vacations, family emergencies, work schedules, moving, connection problems, identity theft (in my case) and a myriad other possible reasons that forced them to leave the game for a few weeks or so (about 4 in my case.)

I personally have been with the community for almost 3 years, came into the game in late beta 2 and had to leave for almost 4 weeks in march thanks to identity theft. I know JtLS is still months out, but that doesn't change the fact that your punishing vets who have had to leave for a short while in favor of giving incentive tonew players to keep an active account until JtLS.

At least consider it.

2: Take a month after JtlS and spend the time you spend on each patch and dedicate the patch entirely (or mostly) to fixing bugs. New content and goodies and profession changes are always nice. But there are an INCREADIBLE ammount of bugs in SWG. While none of them are game brakers, they are annoying and some people have left the game because of them. I know for a fact that in your list of things to do, fixing non-game braker bugs are very very low on that list, but which each change and patch that comes in, more bugs come with it, and eventually there are going to be so many you won't be able to even make a dent in them. So please, after everything on your list for the next 6 months or what ever is over, spend a month fixing as many bugs as you can possibly find and fix. I'm sure you already have a list of hundreds.

The Ranger may perhaps be the proffession most in need of a revamp (other than those currently planned).

I'll elaborate:

Rangers are supposesed to be the ultimate "hunters". Um...we're not. We stink at PvE as a class because Ranger traps are awful (scouts work better and don't aggro an entire mob on you), tracking doesn't help you kill creatures, neither does camping and our ONE actual bonus in hunting in a to-hit modifier that doesnt really help all that much. Whether you hit or miss a Ranger can't take down a creature that a lot of combat profs can. I agree, Ranger should have to master a combat prof to be useful, but when you get people who "stack" combat skils, then grab novice scout, they are far more effective hunters than we are. The only thing that allows us to "hunt" better is our harvesting...and per hour, a combat stacker with novice scout is more effective anyway.

In PvP, Rangers are even worse: we're a joke. Not that Rangers in general need PvP, but we'd like to not be useless. There have been several Ranger threads that deal with ways to make us better in PvP. We don't want to be a power-player class. We want simple changes that allow Rangers to be a tactical group. We don't want to be able to take down a base, but we WOULD like to have some functionality when it comes to PvP/GCW.

Rangers were promised during their first update (a long time ago) skills that would increase our usefullness and our hunting skills. Hunting blinds, the /track command (not /areatrack, but a seperate skill) and several other ideas were not only considered "good" but were promised to the Rangers ASAP. With the passing of the one year anniversary...we have to wonder where those promises have gone.

Rangers have since begged and pleaded for newer ideas. Modular Camping, Stealth gameplay and traps that work against CH pets have all been proposed. We have had plenty of good ideas. The devs have even acknowledged these ideas as good. We have been told many times that the devs are looking at our ideas, but nothing gets done, and all we hear back is "we're considering ideas". We don't want all the ideas we've given at the same time, but it'd be nice to have a ROLE in this game. Since we're outhunted, out harvested and out played in general...basically we keep it for the community of Rangers. But that's not always enough.

This is a bit of a rant so I want to end this by sayingif you're going to make promises to a proffession, you need to keep them. If you're going to ask us what we want, you need to be prepared to give us an idea of whether it's feasible.

Just some quick info:

There are less Master Rangers per server than there are Jedi, as far as we can tell (as few as 2 or three in many cases)

Rangers are one of the least usefull skillsets in terms of combat. Only doctors are forced to give up as many skillpoints to a non-combat class, and doctors are infinately more used than Rangers.

The Ranger is a dying breed: just this week we've lost three masters to other proffessions. We're going to try to start a "Lost Rangers" post just to show you how many people are dropping it simply because the devs have done NOTHING since they promised us new things.

Rangers have been nerfed by almost every update you've given. Camps became useless when the restriction to take vehicles/pets out was revoked. Areatrack and our terrain negotiation was killed by vehicles/mounts. Our harvesting bonus was killed by harvesting droids. When are you going to HELP us??

If you've read this, TH you need to understand what dire straights the Ranger communtiy is in. We're all but extinct and all we're told is that it will be solved with the combat balance. I have a hard time believing that all of our many problems can be solved so quickly, but I look forward to finding out. Please, tell me anything that can give me hope.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I accept the fact now that there are going to be hundreds of Jedi, kicking and screaming but I accept. But now I plead before you, make it so that the Jedi are actually a littel weary of being so publicyl noticed. I've already seen 10 jedi lightsabers out in the coronet starport. Since they can't be TEF'd now, how about some kind of trigger that would cause Stormtrooper commando's or even Vader to come out after them if say, so many people turn them in after sighting them.

With all these public Jedi, showing off their stuff in the Starports, it kind of detracts away from Luke's importance of the jedi, since "that boy is our last hope" (-ObiWan to Yoda) ..."no, there is another" (Yoda to Obi-wan, refering to Leia). Why doesnt Yoda say something like to Obi-Wan along the lines of "no, there are several hundred Jedi's yet".

As Grand Moff Tarkin says to Vader "their fire has gone out of the universe....you my friend are all that's left of thier religion".

I accept now that people want to be Jedi, as did I once. But i wanted to be a Jedi within the Star Wars trilogy, knowing that Vader would come to kill me, that I would have to hide and live in solitude, as Obi-wan and Yoda did.

Please, I beg you SOE, please try to conform to some kind of continuity with the movies. My passion for this game comes from the passion I have for the movies. Each update seems to push more and more away from the movies, and it leaves me very sad, knowing what this game could be still.

I think it is still that you have to post so many times untill you get to edit your posts. I think it just helps make dumb threads on the forums that have little or no value.

Not sure if this post will be seen so far down the list... but here goes...

Since this is just an in concept forum and here to kick around ideas, i figured i would kick around a couple immersion things.

1 would be an actual Holonet inside of the game... and yes i realize that it would be hard to do with the current code and bandwidth, but it's just an idea after all. The Holonet would allow you to see current events etc, maybe even have running ticker of advertisements for merchants so they can have a visible place to spam other than in front of starports. Im sure that idea for the merchants has already been suggested, but i wanted to expand that with the Holonet you could even introduce a new profession from it.

I'm not sure what that profession might be called... Holonet Reporter or something, but in essence the player who was this profession could go out and take live shots of goings on within the game, that would then appear as an option, or a "channel" in the Holonet. I know, I know, dorky maybe, but think immersion. This profession would have to have some benefit to add to a group, of course, so that it would be a bonus to take a reporter along... maybe you gain a percentage bonus of faction points for your group if you are doing factional related tasks... ie: If you are rebels killing Stormtroopers and you have a reporter in your group, you both gain and lose a percentage more faction points because, hey, everyone saw it on the news. That's just an example ofa bonus of course, maybe you gain more credits per mission because the prestige of being seen on TV, who knows.

Someone just told me that these abilities could just be given to an IDer too, but not sure how that would work, but I guess that would fit the profession. But regardless the "reporter" or whatever profession would appear under entertainer for obvious reasons.

Trouble spots aside from technical issues... Griefing could theoretically be a problem if someone who was the said profession decided to hound a player and basically do the papa ...razzi ? thing , but maybe that's thinking too far into it.

Ok, back to holonet, as you can see, the options for such a thing are numerous... A Holonet would be a good thing... for all you crafters out there who like to grind but are sort of interested in what's going on in your server because you've been cooped up in your house (and since most servers don't actually use the chat system) you can turn on your holonet and see the latest player events.

Ok, that's my 2 cents for the day.
