A commando is a COMMANDO they use heavy weapons and should be able to take out an AT-ST with much ease. You guys want them to be gods. Hell if anything a commando BETTER be the only class that could solo an AT-ST with no problem, I wouldn't expect to see a TKA punching the hunk of metal or a pistoleer to take it out. Get serious here this is the role for a commando. Taking out the big stuff. (and since the only decent weapon for a commando is FT, thats what they all use, until the class can be fixed some day)
I agree with you, the role of the commando is to take down things like the AT-ST. However, I just think that the commando should be taking down AT-ST's using the "real" heavy weapons like the rocket launcher for instance. And the fact that the devs reduced blast resists on the AT-ST leads me to think that they intended the commando to use rocket launchers and such. And not a flame thrower.

with all this penalties PVP really isnt any fun anymore. Why you remove armor from at-st. That you cant pull out 3 ..oke..but a TK and commando are stronger then a AT_ST then.

I thought this game was mostly PVE orientated and that PVP was only small portion of the game.

Id like to make a couple comments on this whole thing.
I've been hearing probs about Rebels far overpopulating the servers than Imps. You people are trying to fix the "balance" of the game right??? Well arent there supposed to be FAR more imperials than Rebels??? Arent the Imperials supposed to have FAR advanced weaponry than Rebels??
People like the idea of being rebels because they are the "good" guys almsot everybody likes to be the good guy. So whos gonna be the bad guy. With these patches you have basically taken away the benefits of being imperial. The at-st a huge walking tank is worthless....I mean how sad is that. Our troops should have better armor,more firepower and should be cheaper to purchase with fp. After all if you think about it it makes sense. The rebels are supposed to be a ragtag organization needing much planning to form an attack.....not having a commando and a medic wipe out a couple atsts and a few imperials....thats a joke.
All this having been said.....you Devs want to put "balance" in the game???? Open your eyes and look at the big picture....dont just look at one aspect.....you change that one aspect and you throw the whole "balance" of the game into chaos which will end up in another huge nerf making even more people mad.
! more off topic thing......Bounty Hunters are supposed to be close to amazing in the star wars world right???? considering it takes 217 skill points to master it i think we should get a lil something for our effort. BH's are a joke....a pistoleer with a lil medic skill can easily tear a master BH up. Its just not right.......

A couple questions.
1) Non-CHs are now allowed to have only one pet out at a time. Does this affect ALL pets, including Imperial soldiers and the like? Since that would defeat the purpose of a non-CH buying any of the other Imperial faction pets, such as dark troopers and storm commandos. And I don't think troopers are considered animals in this game...
2) What's the AT-ST's new armor rating?

- Agree with AT-ST / faction petcombat restrictions
- Do you realize how easy it is to loose an AT-ST to a commando's Flame DOT? Until you do this, you have absolutely NO clue:
- You get on Test Center
- You grind out Faction Points
- You buy your AT-ST
- Get hit by a flamethrower DOT
- Look at all the 'unhealable' damage
- And watch your hard-earned AT-ST be destroyed
- Kudos for looking at ways to 'improve' the AT-ST. It needs some more work - keep looking.
- What is the point of having Imperial/Rebel Rank?
- You say having the ability to call 3 faction pets is an an 'Unearned Perk' - I say grinding all those Faction Missions MAKES it an EARNED PERK. Not everyone chooses to partake in the GCW, just not everyone chooses to be a CH. Don't nerf the GCW in the name of improving CH.
- Having three faction pets (limit 1 AT-ST) following you inWedgeFormationis Ultra-Star Warsy!
- Faction Pets have a CL also - Use it! As you rise in rank, the higher CL you can use. This system is employed in the CH tree. Why can't it be used here?
- And besides, Faction Pets can only be used in Faction related combat - CH still have the PvE perk/advantage! Remember your own poll indicated a whopping 26% (there abouts) of players partake inPvP/GCW. So with the new faction pet combat restrictions implemented, allowingthreefaction pets(1 AT-ST), would not be infringing on CH perks.
- If you are trying to make Faction Pets comparable to Creature Pets, make them all have Perma-Death or not.
- Concerned with sequence of PvE combat while faction pets are deployed, since they cannot attack non-factional PvE targets.
- Are faction pets unattackableby non-factional PvE targets?
- Will they defend themselves, if attacked?
- Will they defend you, if you are attacked?
- Do you know how 'Stupid' faction pets are? If you can't command themwhen (if)they are attacked in non-factional PvE, they are dead. And mind you, these are not "critters"which can be called up again. Stumble across a Mokk or Pirate spawn and these guys are gone; gone for good!Note, many of the comparable HAM NPCs attack between 300-1000+damage per hit, while our faction pets put out ~200 damage per hit. Grossly imbalanced considering we can only haveone (non commandable) faction pet out at a time and those spawns have around 5 NPCs.
I must say you know how to make me lough...i've just read that number of factional pet depens on creature handler skills
Now, come on, why Patton George Smith(US General) had in 1943 7th army under his command and 3rd army in 1944 ? Because he was good commander? tactician, politician? - well no : because his dog, horse and all lil birdies in 30 km radius just loved him! Please - just have a look at CH skills - they are ANIMAL related. I understand (surprise!) that you don't want to connect rank (sorry general) with factional pets number (ranks are easy to get) but why favour our dear zoo specialists here? If you have a problem with number of factional pets I suggest that all no matter if they are BE,CH,DE ETC be allowed to have one f. pet. One and not more. It's easy.
Now for people who are colonels, officers etc: give them option to display rank, give them 10% discount on buying replacements...there can be lots of ways to make rank important.
So: One factional pet for all! Let colonels feel they are high officers!
ps. when i first read the part about CH controling more AT-ST ,frist thing i saw was little tamable AT-ST baby trained in combat by CH while its target were MSE-6s- good deal for DEs in the same time ![]()
As I look at this, I think if this proposal is successfull at evening things up, then ya, make the FP cost lower.
I think a ATST in game is over powered even with the changes. but who am I to argue.
All I can say about the changes is...uh huh. So what you are saying is the rebels get even more of an advantage AGAIN? So I as a Imperial can only control 1 Stormtrooper at a time? Because that is all I'll use, being as that you again made the AT-ST worthless. So now ONLY creature handlers will be able to TANK creatures for PVE? Hmmm when you say balance what are you really saying?
1. AT-ST : Still sucks, can still be wacked by rebels in pvp to easy. =worthless
2. AT-ST : Sucks even more now because cant use to tank in PvE. = worthless
3. Faction "pets" : Can only use 1 unless Creature Handler? This is stupid.
4. CH pets : Normal Non CH can use any more than 1 and they will be nothing but crap pets.
So all in all CH are getting a major power boost and everyone else is getting wacked...especially Imperials.
This is the most stupid ass backwards change yet. Should be the other way around. CH already run around tanking everything in the world with rancors, and using them to DB in pvp. Star Wars **edit**....still. We Imperials need at least one DEV on our side.
1 pet for non CH, does that mean 1 pet called, or only 1 pet in the datapad?
So I can't own a mount and a droid? Or what?

1) Removing faction pets from PvP is a good thing.
2) Only 1 faction pet at a time is just plain silly. Like many of my fellow players have said, link pets to rank. Its just common sense (limit 1 ATST out per player). Otherwise the only "faction perks" are investing in bases. I was grinding like crazy for the longest time just so I could get the Star Wars feel with my Storm Trooper unit. Now they all get to sit in the barracks and wait for their turn to come out and play.![]()
3) ATSTs need to be repairable. Otherwise, the faction point cost is too high for the quality of the pet. For crying out loud, there is no way asa Zabrak that Im going to grind to cough up 18.9 K faction points for one flame magnet.... especially if I can't have any other troops to support it. Evenforhumans, the cost FAR out weighs its worth.
4) If the devolopers are going to keepcomparingfaction petsto creature pets then they need todo one of two things.... make ALL pets have permadeath or make faction pets have conditioning. Now that would be fair and balanced. Especially sincethe developersare trying to make all pets "equal" and balanced with in the same system.
This thread is a bit depressing because it seems to take the Empire out of civil war. The organized military look and feel is disappearing rapidly. Many players suit up in advanced composite armor rather than storm trooper armor (me included)because it offers more protection... so now the look and feel is guerilla troops fighting guerilla troops. Now that the faction pets are getting clobbered with the nerf bat, the look and feel is going to get worse.

P.S. Could you please bring back the talking NPC storm troopers? I really miss the "Can I help you citizen?" and "Move along". These little things really added to the feel of the game.![]()
