is there any idea of when the character copy is going to be activated so we can get more testers on test center?

I'm curious about vendor and bazaar stability. I'm not sure if it's rampant on every server, but I know I've lost quite a bit of money due to purchases made during high lag/low ping play sessions on Eclipse (you purchase an item, the system freezes in the "Retrieval" stage, and you lose out on receiving the item but still lose credits).

Certain planets and locations have simply become 'unplayable' (for lack of a better term) on Eclipse.

Thanks!

To which the reply was:

Sorry to hear that. Please ping a CSR and give them the details. If your items dont come back in 24 hours, they can probably help you out.

One thing - - if you can give the CSR the Planet and location (x,y), its really helpful. Different areas are different servers and it helps us pinpoint where the porblem is.

From a high level point of view, the commodity market is a very important item to everyone inside and out and I hope to have some very good news for you soon...

_____________________________________________________________________________________

This problem has been getting worse and worse. The lag makes vendors unusable 90% of the time, andrecently items are completely dissappearing on attempts to retrieve. My customers and I have lost over 25 items this week alone. In one transaction I lost 2M credits on a resource purchase that dissappeared.

CSRs are completely helpless. I have provided details such as location coordinates, time of day, vendor names, serial #s and stats of items lost yet they claim to be unable to track the lost items.

I hope you have some good news soon also!

This is on Dantooine on Eclipse, but I am sure other areas ofEclipse and other servers are experiencing the same types of problems.

Just wondering when the racial specific items that have been posted on other forums will be addressed? It's been many months since this game when live and the differences between certain races and how far behind the curve they are is becoming more and more previlent. Can we get an idea when what will be done or is being considered and when we might expect some or all of these changes to go in other then the "soon", please.

Idon't know if this has been addressed or not, but there is a serious problem with /dismounting your vehicles and pets. This is what happens to me when I dismount and I'm sure many other players:

-You end up 10m+ from your vehicle (i've ended up about 100m from my dismounted vehicle once)
-You to end up in the middle of nowhere, then suddenly near your vehicle, or 10m+ away
-You dismount, and your vehicle suddenly starts driving off on it's own

I make sure to completely stop when I dismount, and I still experience this problem. I really don't know what causes the problem, maybe lag? It's caused a lot of frustration, especially when I'm hunting or scouting through a dangerous enviornment. Hope you can address this problem soon. Thanks!

This was posted elsewhere but in huge threads and i think it got burried.

Its not a perfect idea but if people like it we can round it out on this thread

I think it would help entertainer gig missions be fun and more useful then the 200cr they get now, encourage people to play atk, add more fun to solo missions and make people more reliant on cantina's and entertainers thus making them the hub again.

Make entertainer/ musician/ dancer missions (first scale by ability) be more quest like... In the quest fractions such as those to jaba would play a role... In the end you would be questing for knowlage that you can pass around the cantina. For instance, one of the things they are looking at for sumglers is the ability to actually smuggle.... well what if while that weary smugler was dusting off in the cantina, the lovely dancer or band leader lets them know not to use the starport they were going to because the imperial pressence is too strong, and if they went to X they have a better chance to succeed. Or for a BH we knew about one of there marks with slightly more acuracy then the spy net ops from what we had learned... Or for artisans that X vien of resources has just been found near X,y,Z. If this was done, then they would have a reason to come talk to the entertainers and if it required atk play, then afk'rs would be less prevelent. This also fits into the role that entertainres played in the sw universe. Cantina's while filled with vial scum and wreched villany, were spots that you could find "under the table help" it is true in all of lucas's games thus far. So my thought is don't just "fix" gig missions, do so in a method that adds content AND RP value to all of us. This would go great strides to fixingthe profession I belive as people would see the need for us, the cantina's would be more full and more full of atk players (so they could "distribute" their info). I also belive however, that if you are going to do this, that whispering should be targeted ie: "/whisper newjedi ok so i found that your target was last on rori, natarius" make the words fuzzy to everyone else so if it was about a resource vien, you wouldn't say it once and inform the whole server... I also free that specific loot given to us to give out or to tell where it is would be a good addition. Anything that would help customers pat themselves on the back for comming... after all that is one of the things people do when drunk

What will become of those who DON'T want to be or play alongside 150 jedi? Those who liked the idea of there being under 10 jedi per server (tops)? We do exist. Not everyone wants to be a jedi or own an xwing.

BEN: That boy is our last hope.

YODA: (looks up) No. There is another. (not 500 others, please remember the timeline)

I realise that information on the Jedi Revamp can't really be released, because any info would probably reveal too much of the secretive process.

There is one question you may be able to answer though.

Is the revamp for the "Jedi Profession" only, or will the old way of unlocking the FSS become obsolete?

The Friday Feature mentions the "Jedi System" and I take that to mean that the path to unlocking the FSS is likely involved.

While I'll agree that the holocron system is no good... I do not believe that they should just take it OUT.

Fine, make a better way, a more immersive and creative way to go about unlocking the FSS, but in no way should you pull the rug out from under those that have been pushing through the initial holo-grinding FSS method.

If they calculate how far along you are in the holocron method and place you accordingly in the new method, then maybe thereshould beno complaints.

Consider my sittuation, as a player/subscriber since launch (who BTW has not gotten the free time that these new re-opened old/canceled account players have gotten!!)

I am more of a casual gamer than a power gamer.

I am an enormous Star Wars fan (not physically)

I started off as a master musician and added combat professions to suit my adventurous appetite and build the character I wanted to play.

When the holocrons changed and I recognised a way for me to possibly unlock my FSS, I made a decision to completely alter what I was enjoying doing, in orderto go for it.

When I considered the thought of immersing myself in the role of a Jedi, I decided it was worth going through the holo-grinding process, even though I despised the thought of changing any of my character's maxed out skill points. Grinding through professions is very alien to me, as I play for immerssion purposes almost exclusively.

I spent many more hours playing, in order to make it through this system as quickly as I could manage so that I could get back to playing the way that I previously enjoyed.

In real life, I recently bought a new house, moved in and had to take a few weeks off from playing, as I had to get re-established and all.

I am almost at the point where I am ready to continue my persuit, and I just read the friday feature.

Honestly, if these changes make all the clicking and thesearching, and all the aggrevation that I previously went through, meaningless, then I don't see how I could keep paying to play this game.

Too many things get passed in this game that only reward the quicker power-gamer.

If you power-game and reach it quickly you'll get the in-game rewards... but if you take your time, those rewards will be gone, and the new ones will be figured out and ravaged again by the power-gamers, while the more casual gamers slowly make their way towards that goal, undoubtedly only to reach half way or so to see the end goal changed or removed, yet again.

Ithink it's greatif you make new ways for the FSS to be unlocked, but in no way is it a good thing to remove the old way. There are just too many people that are beyond the point of return along that path, and it would be wrong to close that road on them.

Hopefully, all this will be considered thoughtfully and with great care towards the many different types of players.

Of course, they could only be changing the Jedi profession. If that IS the case, then ignore most of what I've said.

I sense a disturbance, however... and I've learned to trust my feelings.

Ok, I gave in because I wanted to participate in the GCW. So, I went covert Imp to play with some RL friends. I have avoided PvP as I frankly despise it, and will continue to only take part in PvE encounters.

One thing I must say--If I lose one single item or one friggin credit or resource because of your sudden urge to screw with the GCW with this contraband idea, I will cancel my accounts on that day and not look back.

Ya, people threaten this all the time, but this kind of stupidity in blaming us for using the sliced armor & weapons we all rely on is beyond idiotic. If you want to do this to us, then to hell with you.

Then there is the whole Jedi change--I have been 1 profession from my FS slot for months thanks to that **edit** silent holo #4. That effort should not be lost just because the rediculous 15 professions I have tried are not the 1 you wanted me to blindly stumble across. We should be just as close to the goal in the new progression you are concocting.

Fix what is broken and knock off such lame thinking.

Morning TH...

I think one of the major points to bring up is.. Contraband!

As a jedi and with another character who uses lots of sliced armor and spices, is there any way we can get some clarification on what is or is not contraband.

I assume that Spices and all sliced items are illegal.. as they should be. However what else is?

Im not telling - - thats part of the fun of the game.

Er, no.

If a government or ruling body are going to outlaw specific items, then they inform people what those items are.

They don't say "we have decided to fine people heavily for owning some things, but we are not going to tell you what things we will fine you for."

Soon. We're taking time to tweak it out so that the crackdown meets peoples expectations.

There's good news and bad news here folks.

The bad news is: There will be no January publish

The good news is: The February publish will come very early

BRING BACK THE LOST PROFESSIONS.....

As a crafter since beta, I have found that I am spending sinificantly more time on resource collection than actually crafting. Being a Master Weaponsmith now requires more imagination in the management of myfleet of heavy harvesters than investigating schematics.

In fact its gone BONKERS on Wanderhome with spawns of better & better resources happening daily. If I don't check the SWGCRAFT.com boards every hour, then I risk missing out on a new quality resource and consquently being left behind in the endless race to make better & better weapons for a demanding customer base....!!

It's time to re-investgate the dropped profession of Miner.

As a Master Weaponsmith (that hasto get Engineering IV in theArtisan Tree,) I can: -

  • See every available resource on any planet at any time

  • Survey and mine any & all resources, on any planet at any time

  • Build and operate any type of harvester in any location at any time

As much as this makes me almost 'all-powerful' I see it as fundementally wrong. As a Weaponsmith I should be able to do a sub-set of the above, not everything to the very best level.

With a little bit of imagination, it would not be difficult to re-implement the Miner professionto play an important role in the SWG world. With professional branches of Advanced Surveying, Advanced Mining Techniques, Harvester Operation, and Resource Refinement, I think that many players would find it a rewarding profession to follow.

[The Resource Refinementbranch could be one that allows a Miner to refine a single resource attribute of a particular resource, thereby creating unique resources for use in the crafting profession. just imagine a Master Miner that could 'refine' the conductivity of Plumbum Iron by an extra 200 points..!!]

Additionally, bringing back the mining profession would introduce some level ofinteraction withing the crafting professions with everyone wanting the services of a Master miner to bring me the best resources possible. After all, as a Master Weaponsmith, what have I got to spend my millions on anyway..?

So THUNDERHEART, any chance of another look at the mining profession....??

[and when you've done that, we'll look at the Manufacturer Profession too....]

Can something be done about the AP system...It worked fine until the Holo-Craz....Now standard Roleplayers are having to compete with the high prices the holo-grinders are setting....Before the craz....students tipped teachers for the skill training...now holo-grinding teachers are paying students 1k - 5k per skill learned just so they can drop their new masterhood and grind the next....

Can we have NPCs to train so we can get our AP....even if there was a set price....but I do not want to have to search out students and then compete with someone who doesnt even care about becoming a master....What ever happened to the students seeking the training of the skilled....dam Holocrons...bane of this game.....
