I thought the idea of tent space for rent in static cities excellent! not sure if it can help reduce lag though

static cities should be made less static: what about sewers? they are classics of dungeon games and they could be neat under cities like coronet especially for players trying to evade the empire. of course fill the sewers with nasty creatures and make them link several buildings

the big skyscrapers are useless? what about giving players apartments to rent? works like a house with reduce upkeeping and in player cities only owner of the skyscraper building pays upkeep ( like two houses for instance ) and each players living there still have to pay taxes. landlord may still ask a minor upkeep from players.

ok you have introduced cu pa mounts which make up for the absence of the taun tauns the mounts the rebels ride on Hoth in the Empire Strikes back. Actually Bio engineers could make taun tauns out of cu pas who could be said to be mutated taun tauns. An area of an existing planet could be covered with ice and there could be found a strange place where someone imported creatures from Hoth ( where players could find tauntauns and wampas ) and introducing Hoth without breaking continuity could be hard ( we dont want pvp fight there just yet! ) so what about inventing another cold planet which is a big different from Hoth?

talking about continuity: some players complain that life is too hard for a jedi, well I dont agree: the game ( virtually -have yet to meet one ) allows players to become a jedi master in less time than it took Luke, ( and we know the force is strong in him huh) to become a padawan in the movies!

Forgive me if this idea has been brought up previously (I don't read these discussion threads often enough to know)...

I know that every single player in this game HATES missing a shuttle by1 or 2seconds. Has anyone ever suggested MOVING the ticket terminals inside the starport area itself (instead of in the lobby)? It would eliminate that 20-30 second round-trip (depending on how good you are with a mouse) which always seems to be the reason you miss the shuttle.

Yes, I am sure there are more sweeping/drastic ideas that probably aim to eliminate shuttle waits altogether. I just want to take a stab at something EASY that might make things a little better...

im gonna have to ask the people who want wookie armor to consider a few things....

1. u give wookies huge stats to make up for armor that people pay for all the time cause it keeps breaking. this will cause everyone to go wookie cause they dont have to pay

2. wookies get armor. now wookies get armor AND stat bonus

3. (this is the most important one) BUFFING HAS MADE ENCUMBRANCE A THING OF THE PAST!!! WOOKIES DONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH ENCUMBRANCE !!! BUFFING MAKES THE ONLY GOOD SIDE OF THE WOOKIE USLESS!!!

so before u complain about wookies not having armor try to fix the problems that cause wookie without armor to die so easy.

I'd really like to see Mara Jade and Darth Vadar hunt my jedi's butt down when my visibility gets high enough. What ever happened to those guys?

I hear Darth Vadar and Mara Jade's part of the Imperial themepark, which as a rebel I don't have access to. They need to be out and about andcome afterthe growing number ofjedi.

I am not sure about everyone else but I would like to see a section of every static city in the game be re-zoned to merchant tents only. They should be on the oppsite sideof the city from the starport, gotta keep transportation moving ya know , and would bring life and flavor back to the static cities in the game. This would bring more people in closer to shop and would help in making the search for items much easier. We already have this basically happening at the starport in Coronet the biggest flea market going and lots of people have big lag there. They should be charged 14K for a week for the rental fee of the lot. I would think for the crafters that would want to travel and hunt this would be the perfect setup, as they travel back and forth they could check their vendors and then continue their journeys. The vendor would have to setup their own tent and if the rent isn't paid it will be auto-deducted from their bank account, like the taxes in the player cities now. This would make it where you could buy and sell high credit items and not have to search the entire galaxy only to find an empty vendor. Please don't flame me and try to tell me how many of you ALWAYS keep your vendors stocked... I have spent a lot of time, money and searching only to find an empty vendors on all the planets. If you don't belive me open your atlas and search for say ........weapons, then go visit 1/3 of the shops listed on just about any planet.I play onthe Bria Galaxy and it has been this way since the days the Holo Grinding started. Thanks for your time in advance.

I was just wondering if wookies are going to be getting any armor any time soon. Everyone is quitting wookie because of the armor issue. There are no benifits to being a wookie, they have better stats but armor is better than the stats. Maybe all characters should have the same stats. characters should be able to choose wether or not they want armor.

An idea I had, dunno if this is a place to get comments for it...

Heavy Repeater

Min Damage: 10

Max Damage: 60

Attack Speed: 0.3

This weapon would be meant to shoot a lot of projectiles to catch a target in a barrage of firepower.

Pro's:

-A lot of shots so target might get serious wounds.

-A lot of damage over a small time.

-Since every shot looks like a number of shots (like a rifle does multiple shots although only 1 damages its target) one big rain of shots will scream trough the sky.

Cons:

-Since a lot of shots are fired, condition decreases fast.

-Since there is a low min damage average damage isn't always as good.

Here is a crazy idea that will never happen but would solve the problem of too many jedi:

Lets move the time-frame of the game to after Return of the Jedi!

From all the novels and comics I have read the war didnt just stop when the Emperor "died". Coursant and many other worlds rotated in control for years, the emperor came back via clones many times. Rebels and Stormtroopers still fought. You could make planets faction controled like bases. Corellia would remain neutral as it is the "hub" of SWG, Tat would also be neutral. Lok and Talus would be Rebel, Dantooine and Naboo would be Imperial to start with. The only major changes would be to the theme parks but you could have someone else take over Jabba's criminal empire and the emperor could just be a clone of himself. Jedi could train at Luke's Academy. Hoth could be added as a world. And last but not least you could develop content from all the wonderful Expanded Universe sources. I feel keeping the game in the timeline between ANH and ESB really holds you back as to what kind of content can be added and holds players back in terms of being able to shape the fate of the universe. No matter how hard we Imps try, we still lose at the end of ROTJ, but even in the current novels the remnant of the empire still holds on to many systems

Can someone confirm this?

One of my trusted friends on a server last night said something about a new themepark possibly being added. I can't make heads or tells of the forums though... as usual, heh.

Anyway, this new theme park was said to be a Blockade Runner theme park where all alligned factions and neutrals would have to complete 3 quests to gain access to an honest to force transport up to a Corellian Blockade Runner, like the Princess's ship from the opening sequence in Episode 4. Furthermore I was told that this wasn't going to be a static; everyone can gaggle up the area like all the caves and popular loot spots. It was to be somewhere along the lines of; if you got your ticket up to it and went alone... you got your very own private dungeon.

Personally, I love the idea, but, again, sounds too good to be true to me.

Anyone confirm this?

Lunatic Fringer with some more ideas and questions,

Out of curiosity, how many people would rather see Professions removed from the game and see a Skill List Pool added instead? I thought long and hard about this and it seems like a lot of the professions either don't belong because of quirkiness or just out of usefulness in the game. Instead, why not have a flat out combat pool, crafting pool, and healing pool? The way I see it, then titles would be achieved by having certain skills added to your player character list. Perhaps as a deterent from, again, having the power players pick only the best skills would be to carefully weigh how much those skills should cost in xp. This has been bothering me a little since launch because I always thought that's more or less how a truly revolutionary massive player rpg would work. A giant skill pool where the possibility for different characters were pretty well limitless.

Loot needs a serious bit of looking into as well. Personally, I don't like the idea of ultra rare loot being in game. This is still destroying the economy on all the servers. In fact, although I know it was suppose to help, the addition of raising the selling price on bazaars has only made problems worse. I see the same stuff from a few months back of the same qualities being sold for 6k instead of 3k. I'm a bit of a credit pincher myself, so this just doesn't settle well with me. I like seeing a believeable economy. If I want to dress up like a Tusken Raider I sould be able to loot that body of one thats right in front of me of it's clothes; Not pay one million credits to some greedy player for a helmet that's near impossible to get. It's little-big things like that that can make this game highly unenjoyable. I've always believed there should be at least one Npc Item dealer on every planet that offered *all* the loot in the game. And, to tell the truth, maybe another thing should be that credits shouldn't be so easy to come by even as we gain skill. 1 million credits should literally last a few years in game in my mind. Star Wars isn't *that* different from our reality and this just bothers me. And, I'm sorry crafters *I play one too*, but player economy doesn't work realistically. In the Star Wars format, I'd rather see enforced standard prices.

I'm still a firm believer in that money sinks are bad as well. I'll buy the garages for vehicles; that actually makes some sense and as long as it gets fixed so that repairs at garages actually stick and I'm not forced to do the shuttleport fix to ensure that the darn thing stays fixed when I pay for it... kewl. However, Item decay really needs completely removed from game. We already experience decay from using items and getting hit in combat. To further penalize us when we die *especially with player prices and insurance costs* just makes it down right annoying still. I'd rather walk to my corpse and pick up my undecayed items than have to experience item decay.

This, of course, brings up another issue yet again. The PvP system still needs work. Untill there is an actual reward system for it beyond faction points; it really is a pointless system. Give us xp across the board no matter if its PvP or PvE. That at least would make some sense.

Factions are too lopsided as well. I'm almost inclined to say make servers all Rebel or Imperial. That at least would make it *fair* to everyone so to speak. I've heard everything from don't let Aliens join the Empire or make Imperials Overt and allow for Rebels to be Covert and freely attack the Imps for TEFs. So on and so forth. And, really, the entire system just doesn't work no matter what anyone says because someone gets messed with no matter what.

Also, on the Jedi Quests, I really hope this isn't going to turn into either/or a camp fest on missions or a you have to be in the right spot at the right time over x ammount of months to do get your slot. To me, as long as were keeping professions, everyone should *within the realm of reason* be able to achieve getting *any* profession if they so desire. This is just another example of why I don't think the current Profession system works too well.

Now then, in closing, I still want to say that I do still enjoy the game and will continue to play... It'd just be better if some of these changes could be implemented for the better of the overall experience and gameplay for everyone. But then, this is just from my point of view over the past several months.

Sincerely,

The Lunatic Fringer

Hi TH

I would like to reinforce my previous request to add new In Focus threads to the In Concept forum. I would love to see focussed discussions on ideas/requests/problems/etc regading:

  • Armor

  • Weapons

  • Craftable Structures

  • Other Craftable Items

The reason I dont think the current focus threads for Armorcrafter, Weaponcrafter, Architect and Artisan are appropriate is that I would like to see a focused discussion on the USE of these things, not the crafting and ingredients of these things. For example armor can be used by everyone, but not everyone cares that we need more high OQ and Conductivity metals.

Thanks

Some things I would like to see:

The ability to use the in-game email from the website, as well as the ability to read the forums while in game. (This fits in with incorporating an interface to the knowledge base into the game client as well.)

Droids for entertainers and musisians to perform anywhere (similiar to how Doctors can use a droid to buff / heal wounds anywhere)

In-game calculator / mathematical functions. Even a simple calculator would help, tho I'd like to see spreadsheets/forumulas, especially for crafters.

Remote harvester maintenance. Seems silly that I can't check the status of my harvesters and pay their maintenance remotely. Harvester event notifications would also be good (i.e. receive an email when they stop functioning, due to power, resource shift, etc... similiar to how factories email the owner).

A revision of the stat caps (stat migration) for most races, or a revision of the information given on each race. Zabrak's have "incredible willpower" and are "highly focused"? For a race that has maximum focus capped well below half that of humans, as well as less willpower... that is quite a stretch. I can understand making humans more "flexible" as their description suggests, but allowing them to vastly surpass any other race's maximum potential doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
