If your datapad is full when you loot the datapad from the first set of Sith and use it, you loose the waypoint...

Alright, so you advance the Force-Skill Trees by trading in your normal exp.

That's fine.

I have a problem though - I play a pure support character (Doc/CM).

I can only get 80k exp before I have to run back to the village and trade it in 1:10 (lousy rate).

My only combat skill is Marksman -> Pistol 4.
But yet, after trading in my pistol exp, combat exp - I was able to buy the novice combat prowes box.
(although I have no use for it at all, but hey ...)

But my main interest is in getting the Healing skill tree - and this is going to take ages, with the max exp set so low at 80k.

I can get 300k combat exp, 200k pistol exp, although I didnt go over marksman - but I can only collect 80k exp with my two elite Professions, Doc and CM - why ? Why can I only get so few exp before having to run back to the village, 6km from the closest spaceport on a planet I dont visit for other reason - as doc. Why the bad exchange rate of 1:10 ? People get so much exp killing mobs in a couple of seconds. I sit there and get a little by healing in group or buffing every 18 seconds. But yet, it's capped at 80k ... I dont see the point in that.

Why do I, as pure support player, get punished like that ?

well, first of all, unlockers need to shush. it's not your right to get a jedi. it's a stupid thing that is ruining the game anyways (he said, knowing full well he's been slowly grinding up to knight). regardless:

armor is resisting less (is that intended? preview of combat rebalance? 80-something composite resisting 50%? nightsisters are doing lightsaber moves on powerhammers? that seems like it could make sense but i could see how that could happen accidentally as well.

also, seemed to notice that insured items are losing condition at uninsured rates. is there a better plan i can get on?i'm a safe player when the 3 people tanking have armor that works like it says it does and i don't die often. i'm a reduced insurance risk.

Ok some feedback on the village of Aurilla:

First I like to say that this village have the best quests ever made in game so far. But nothing is or will ever be perfect but should be ouer purpose.

A good thing is to add a sys msg if you have to meny WP's stored in your data pad when you taking a quest for say the captain when he ask you to go on the patrolls. I had little to meny WP's stored in my pad and only got 7 of the 8 WP's you need to do the patroll.... Toke me some time to figure out what as wrong.

Village of Aurilla's quest cycle is 3 weeks. I can see that this is a good idea now to keep down the growing jedi population. But this might not be a good idea in the future. For those who dont have eny "free skills" it will take 6 months to become jedi initiate. Dont think that meny will stick around that long

Masterkyp4421 said: "Did I see someone say you could unlock any branch??? BS I did the patrol and it unlocked the ranged accuracy not what I wanted at all."

i totally agree with this. i am master swordsman and they unlocked ranged accuracy for me....?!?! why would i need this at all. even if i were to drop it later to continue on with jedi, which by the way i dont care about at all i just want an alt character so i can have lots and a crafter for jtl, and with most that do these quests being jedi and using light sabers....which is melee, do you really see a lot of ppl choosing ranged stuff?? unless that helps with saber throw? so i prupose to let US PICK which tree we unlock. for example when i finish the patrols and get something unlocked a window should pop up with the 4 combat ones in it and i choose one and bam i get that one unlocked. not...bam you get some uterly useless POS skill and have to wait 3 more weeks to do it again just so the devs and csrs and suits up stairs can have 5 cars in there drive way cause we will be paying for a long time these monthly fees.....this is just another ploy for money. this is BAD

and a note on alt char, cant it be when we get FS, you will see a drop in jedi pop. that way cause i bet im not the only one doing this for the alt and figuring what the hey i get him at padawan so i might as well keep going

just my incoherint 2 creds worth

I doubt any devs are gonna read this, but I'll post it anyways.....

I like the new system, I only recieved 1 free unlock, so i realize its gonna take forever, but I don't have any problem with that.....

The only problem I did have was the bugs with the sith, didn't appreciate having a late publish still bugged.....

And a suggestion, the xp conversion rate needs to be looked at, to get sense xp, compared to combat/reflex or crafting, its takes ALOT longer, with 1 fill of my weapon/combat xp, i have more reflex than i made grinding medic and scout all day long.......

Like I said, I doubt this will make any difference, but I figured I'd try......

Later...........

An open letter to the devs:

The thing that keeps games such as SGW healthy is new content, and new goals to acheive. The Corvette adventure offered a challenge. It was difficult to beat, but it was beatable. The Deathwatch bunker is only now doing what its supposed to be doing, with all the loot dropping thats supposed to drop. What holds a players interest is knowing that there is new content, and knowing that while things may be challenging, they are reachable.

I never hologrinded (10 professions). I played with different professions until I found what I liked, and what kept me alive and capable of meeting most mobs head on. I was really looking forward to pub 10 and the new Jedi quests. Finnaly, new content and new goals. But are the steps to get to Jedi obtainable and still be able to keep a players interest. Well, they can be obtained, but the time to get there will be so long and so much of a grind (much worse then mindlessly doing professions), that many players will simply lose interest. Whats the point of having to convert litterally millions of points into fs points and reach Jedi, only to have to undergo yet another brutal grind? Gating the quests seemed reasonable. Having to wait a few weeks before you could do another quest and unlock another branch seemed a small price to pay to finally become a Jedi. But the conversion rates as currently in place, mean that you will have time to do little else in this game except to grind out more xp. The heck with content, we need xp. This will get boring real fast and players will turn to other opportunities such as EQ2 and WOW. Not to mention Half-Life 2 and some other top tittles. The rungs of a ladder need to be reachable if you expect players to want to climb them. The conversion rates are to severe. This isnt whining. Im simply stating that the enjoyment ive had with this game will melt away real fast if all there is to do is grind xp and when im done with that grind some more. Id like to get my toon to be a Jedi, but im starting to ask myself if the time it will take to do that really offers any reward. Its not to late however. Change the conversion rate for all xp to 3-1 and while that will take grinding, at least the average player can see some progress. I have a life and I want to spend my few precious hours that I can game with some thing that has some reward and some meaning, not to mention fun. Devs your current conversion rates are sucking the fun out and the end result will be some very empty servers if you dont start respecting your client base. Im not a power gamer, and most who play are not in that catagory. Serve the masses, not the few and the game will remain strong. Ignore whats happening and suffer the end of a potentially great game.

just to add. seems though the system is gated with the 3 weeks per phase (i dont know wether this has changed or not before going live) do we really need to have large conversion rates.

3 weeks needs changed to a week. I shouldn't have to wait 3 weeks for what I can do in 1. And i don't see how this will affect the 'casual gamers. You can still bank xp or use it on one of the other 6 skill types you want.

Retarded.

You need either one more Corvette badge or a Warren badge and you should glow. Two of those content badges are a must as far as I know.

Which confirms what I suspected... Someone who wants to play a Master Tailor/Dancer can pretty much give up any hope of becoming FS.

It's becoming clear to me now that this game is a perfect model of the second Death Star. Operational, but so full of holes you can pilot a YT-1300 through it.

Not True!!
The Corvette is not required. I do not have it. Try something like this:

Badges common to those people who have achieved 'inner glow' include:

3 exploration badges (to jedi-related locations)

Jabba's themepark

Nym's themepark

a factional themepark

Theed Librarian

a profession mastery

Warren badges

NativeBlood wrote:
I forgot to add that Nyms and the Warren are piece o cheese cake, althought u may want to pick up Novice Marksman temporarily to ward off the baddies.

So tell me, how is a Master Armorsmith / DE /Merchant going to survive Jabba's themepark, Nym's themepark, a factional themepark & the Warren?

Yes, the warren is easy but that is because it's camped all the time. It's not suppose to work that way. If it gets fixed so it works like it's suppose to.... What about the faction parks? Do you think a Master Armorsmith / DE /Merchant can take out stormtroopers or rebels uncertified on a CDEF even with buffs?

You forget, The entire point of this massive change is so that people do not have to change professions to become a jedi. A player who wants to play a Master Armorsmith / DE /Merchant cannot complete all those theme parks without someone holding their hand and doing it for them. That is not very satisifing. The only way that a person playing a Master Armorsmith / DE /Merchant can complete all those theme parks is to change professions.

So.. lets see. I'm gonna grind out a combat profession so I can get my badges. Then only X crafting profession can complete this portion of the path to Jedi so I'm going to grind out X profession. Oh, and only medic can complete this portion of the path so I'm going to grind out medic and complete that section......

A grind by any other name is still a grind andthis time it's called "The Village of Aurilia".

What I see happening is a slow trickle away of people who play purenon-combat professions and an overall lack of new players starting out in non-combat professions.

Rushed patch? Try rushed game. The game should have been released this year. Half the stuff folks have been complaing about in the other forums would not be an issue now. Somebody at the office got greedy and wanted to cash in early, content be damned!

Hi,

Now that XP for masters is again relevant due to the converting process, I'd very much like to select some skill I have already mastered in the experience monitor. Then, I would be able to see my progress of e.g. rifle experience while gathering more XP for conversion at the Aurillian village.

Problem: Since I am master rifleman, I cannot choose any rifle-related skills in the current experience monitor.

As of now, the only way to see my progress is to push ctrl-S and scroll down to rifles experience in the relevant box. This is tedious.

Nice publish btw!
