almost everyone was holo grinding so about everyone got benefits. those that didnt have time to holo grind have to unlock everything ourselves and i understand that. but im hearing its gonna take 3 WHOLE WEEKS PER VILLAGE PHASE!!! that is just over kill. almost everyone is FS or jedi initiate or just waiting for the old mans second visit already. cant it be like 1 week per phase? that would seem more humane. even tho im not human im a humanoid and damn it we have right and feelings too!!!
Why wasnt it told to us before that it would be a 3 week per phase wait?

Thunderheart DID say each phase would be "several" weeks. The length of time is perfect for one simple reason...
The devs have said repeatedly that they will not artificially cap the number of Jedi. With 3 weeks of time per phase it's gonna take a long time to get Jedi. You gotta be really committed to do it.
There's too many players out there right now who only want Jedi so they can be "uber". They act nothing like what Jedi are supposed to be. Players like that will quickly tire of the work required and quit trying, and that's a good thing.

as much as ive cursed the devs in the past and still do for the myriad of borked things wrong that still need fixing, like sliding across floors healing ect i have to say one thing. id rather the jedi pop go up very slowly then to have logged in the other night and seen coronets starport flooded with two or three hundred brand new jedis all waving a saber cause they got a new toy to play with. as for teh rest of the compliants everyone knew they had a chance to grind for slots, you want a jedi any faster just buy one off ebay.....
BS. Nobody knew they had "the chance". SOE promised that hologrinders would be rewarded and compensated. COMPENSATED.
Not that they would get instant boxes while the rest of us have to wait several weeks at a time. They never said the FS XP ratio would be so utterly absurd either. 30 to 1 is a joke.

Only part of this new system that seems enjoyable is the exit quest (which i'm no where near but helped someone do it)
Isn't a bit odd though that a personal quest to become a Jedi involves getting 10 people to help you gank a Sith Lord before you even become a Padawan? Like I said in launchpad chat, it would be like Luke taking a Rebel detachment with him to Dagobah.Oh well, if that were the least of my problems it wouldn't be the end of the world I guess.
not only that, think about this too, some of the phases have two skill trees you can do, but you can only do one per phase, if you didn't unlock any free skill trees and train in phase 3 and 4, you'll have to wait to go back to phase 3 and 4 to train the 2 missing tree, another 12 weeks added to that

But 3 weeks is just absurd. Think about it, 3 weeks at one branch per week with a minumum of 6 branches is 18 weeks plus the quests, plus the grinding (equivalent of several professions), plus the ridiculously hard exit quest. That's not commitment, that's insanity.
The same result would be achieved with a week long village phase and a slightly less punishing XP ratio. That would be commitment. As it is, it assures that all the DEVs promises are broken and that only grinders will be Jedi for months to come. And I'll tell you something, unlockers are the ones who want to be Jedi so they can be uber. They ponce around the cities like they own the place, ganking mundanes and acting immature. That's certainly not what Jedi are about. Not even Dark Jedi stoop so low. Us casual gamers are the ones who would actually know how to ROLEPLAY being Jedi, because we're the ones who actually play our professions and roleplay!
