OK so I have been playing sence day oneand have wanted a jedi about as long. when i found out how to become jedi the old way i was truned off by it. I am not a power gamer and the idea of grinding threw prof as fast as possible and not "playing the game" was stupid and time consuming. Now that I have been to the village and unlocked a combat branch hoping that I was gogin to be able to start a quest saystem only to find it is the same way as before just in a differnt wrapper 
. I mean seroiusly 30 to 1 xp transfer its would take me a year to get just a padawan. i feel that all this new system did was reward people for using afk macros and 3rd party programs to grind out proffesions as fast as possible. Granted there are people that have done it legit. but what about us that "play the game" and have been in sence day one. I am very seriously contemplating letting my account go. I am sure that one voice in the masses means nothing.
. I know this has probably been answered in some post somewhere, I thought I'd ask anyway =)
When I select "use" on the disk, it tells me "you must first loot this item before you can extract information from it"
and yes, its in my top level inventory, ive taken a shuttle and went out of town etc.. anyone else run into this?

Ok, so if I have a "faint sense of the force"when will the old man visit me or will he not visit till I am "glowing"? Also, how do I get from faint sense to glowing?

Got my visit from Old man and got my crystal
Got attacked by sith and butcherd them
Went to sith camp and butchered some more sith. Got wp for village
Went to village and traded in exp for FS.
Got a mission from Whip to rescue some villagers. Found the camp, killed the sith, time totalk tothe villager. Wait a minute! What the heck! The villager is in the middle of one of the giant Dathomir trees. OK so I can /target an imprisoned villager but /conv does not work. I tried sending a pet in to follow and maybe drag em out that way, no luck. Tried the /summon command, no luck. Submitted a Bug report, no luck. Submitted a Customer Service Ticket, no luck. Destroyed the waypoint hinking I could go back and talk to Whip and restart the mission (don't do this at home kids) but it doesn't reset. Whip just keeps telling me to "get going and rescue those villagers" Arrggggggggggggg
So what do i have to do now? Wait for the next phase to reset the village before I can do anything? Wait for the phases to cycle all the way through to the first phase again? I am not leaving the village until I can get this resolved. I cannot take another mission because all the NPC's see me working for Whip. /sigh this sux big time. Totally ruined my game play experience.
A little help please? Anyone? Hello, anyone home?

i unlocked pre pub10, ive seen the old man, killed the siths, gone to the village learned 6 branches, but now what am i ment to do? any feed backwill be helpfull (i hope)

Been playing since day one, dont post often but thought i should say this.
Ok, I did some numbers and this is what i figured out.
To become a Jedi, you need 6 trees. This is like doing 1 and a half professions (4 trees to a prof. and another 2).
This means, that at a 30 to 1 conversion rate on xp, someone like me who has no holo credit and has to do all 6 branches, will have to grind 45, yes thats forty-five, professions worth of xp (1.5 professions multiplied by 30 equals .. yep 45.)
Now ... who was saying that this new system was made so any noob could become a Jedi? Factor in the fact that there is a time constraint with the villiage shifts and, well, yep you guessed, this is friggin hard.
If only my first holo hadnt been tailor ... maybe i woulda had an interest. Had I known it would be like this, I would grinded tailor so fast itd made your head spin.
The fact is, for the hardcore gamers, they dont care if the xp u need is 1 or 99 billion. Theyll just play 24/7 and the only thing theyre gonna be slowed down by is the villiage phase changes. To me, the xp requirments just seem ridiculous. Theres really no need to have em that high with the phase changes. It just seems like a real jerky thing to do, so that instead of enjoying the game in between the phases and quests, you need to grind like 8 or 9 professions worth of xp. Even if the xp conversion was cut in half, to 1 - 15, it would still be ridiculous, and very difficult, but not as impossible as with the 30 to 1. It just doesnt seem fair that some people unlocked a Jedi with maybe 15 - 30 professions, but now, we gotta do the equivilent of 45. If cut in half, or somewhere near half, the xp would be equivolent to something like 23 professions, which seems much more in line with the amount of work needed in the old system.
Now I know a lot of people are gonna take this like im saying "WAAAAAA Im a noob i want a Jedi now!" I'm not, Im just asking that the amount of work be lowered to the same level it was at before. i got visited by the sith and retreived the disk but when i try to read it all it say is u must loot the object before u can extract any info from it...had this happened to anyone else and how do i fix it

ok so i play the game quite often, when ever i find some extra time. I really enjoy the game and it has had its ups and downs, but i dont have massive amounts of time to do hologrinding. not the time it takes to grind out 18+ professions anyway. So i was really excited that they were going to revamp the system to maybe help me out. Ya know i thought COOL its going to be alittle bit easier to get jedi. so i busted my butt to get all the requirements i needed to be able to get into the city asap. i did... i got a visit from the old man within 2 days of glowy, and got the sith to visit within 24 hour of the old man visit.
I get to the city, wow cool all the people, and things to do. i converted my xp and learned combat prowess. Awesome! so i start doing the mission for combat. finish that. and find out i can only do 1 quest per cycle... ok well thats not so bad... do some looking up... find out the things i want are mostly on the 2nd phase..
phase1 (nothing i want)
phase2 (3 skills i want)
phase3 (1 skill i want)
phase4 (2 skills i want)
total (6 branches)
ok no problem except i can learn more than 1 at a time so i have to go through the freaken cycles 3 TIMES...
if we will pretend, because nobody that i have read was 100%sure, that the phases take 3 weeks each
ok well thats not so bad... do some looking up... find out the things i want are mostly on the 2nd phase.. phase1 (nothing i want)

ya know i use to do game design as well and i understand it takes time to "work things out" but come on. if i didnt have time to grind before what the heck makes you think im going to have time to do this system?
I think we can agree that everyone is worried about the overflow of jedi. yes? so bring back perma death among jedi and up. that way padawans have time to grow. Create a special shrine you can go meditate at to regain lives, but you can only regain so many so fast and have a cap on how many you can have. that way jedi can go there if they are smart... if they are killed then sorry no more jedi... something to this extent . whatever. I feel that i pay just as much as a person who can play 24-7 i shouldnt have to work extra hard now.

Yup, just about done with this game myself. Started doing the quest to get the saber but two of the four power crystals spawned inside houses. Anyone have any ideas or has this happened to anyone ??? As far as I know you can't abort the quest.

Hello,
This might have been noted before, but after reading a lot of pages and searching I have not found an answer.
I got attacked by the sith today, and ended up in the village. Here I talked to the elder who was in need of help, I chose combat and he told me to talk to the captain.
Eager to see if I had any free branches, I went over and saw to my great joy that I had 4 unlocks, Nice.
Well, I unlocked all 4 branches and got my training for each unlock. Then starting out on the patrol quest, happy to know that I would have 5 unlocks and would be getting my 6th next Village cycle.... Wrong!
After running the 10 patrols, I get my unlock.. Ranged Accuracy.. But I have already unlocked this prior to starting the quest. Shouldn't there be any information somewhere that you might be getting a quest that unlocks something you have already unlocked? And being the way the system is, all my 4 branches are full. The little combat xp and weapon xp Ican get during this cycle until I have the chance to unlock something again (hopefully something I haven't already unlocked)will only gain me 1 box at most. My goal was toat least try to get 4 boxes this cycle.
Tried talking to the CSR in chat, but well, as usual..no help. Sent a ticket, do not expect an answer. Pity really, it is back to the guessing game it seems. First we hadthe holo grind with 1 (4?) unknown professions. Nowwe get quests and hope we get aquest that unlockssomething that is not unlocked.
IfI have misunderstood something here, I am probably at fault. But some information would have been nice.
So my word of warning, if you only get a fewfree unlocks - do the quests first before using them. Might save youthe frustration I have just gone through.

When i typed /check i got the reading the force surge do u have to get alot of badges to higher your rank?
