Thread: The Path of the Jedi: Reckoning of Effort

I really think there are only 2 main questions being asked here:

1) When do we get the visit from the Old Man (time wise not profession # wise)?

2) When does the cycle for each group go through?

I find it sadly amusing that when TH says this:

Since there is a large wave of players that will be going through the system, we are going to be monitoring traffic daily as players start and finish the Force Sensitive quests. When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group. Groups 1 – 4 will qualify for a visit when the village traffic has died down. Of course, if you qualify for the visit under the new system, you will automatically be granted a visit from the old man.

You all take it to mean:
I have to wait weeks to get in!

Lets see ... TH said DAILY ... not 3 weeks .. not months.

And re-read the last line again. If you qualify under the new system, you don't need to care about the old .. at all (except maybe for some credit towards FS skills). Studies on TC has shown its not that hard to get the old man to visit you under the new system.

I feel bad for the devs .. they can't win. Of course, this just goes along with the saying that you can't please all the people all the time.

Keep up the good work guys, there are those of us out there that appriciate the work and direction that the game is heading.

i have only mastered 3 professions, none of which were my 1st holo.

"You feel a surge of the Force within you"

does anyone else think that major force credit should me given to those who are able to overcome the death watch bunker?

does this mean that some kid on summer vacation who grinded 23 hrs a day for 2 weeks is more qualified than myself to become force sensitive?

Though I think in many instances "traffic" is good reason to make certain decisions, in this case it is unacceptable. You KNEW that you were going to have a traffic problem, TC2 CRASHED because of the traffic. You should have been prepared and set up better systems in place to handle the traffic, not gate people who worked hard to have access to some content. What's the point in testing anything if you arne't prepared to resolve issues from your findings.

The devs had a perfectly good system ont eh test center. It seemed to be working and most of the players were happy. I guess it would be too simple to stick with that plan that you had presented to the players. Now, you spring this on us. Amazing that you never ran this little part of the plan on test center. I am a player from way back, Thunder. I remember when you first started and really did seem to be someone who was 'of the players and for the players'. What happened? When did you just become a mouthpiece? This 'traffic control system' and the secret addition of the number of professions that a holo grinder needed is just decietful. And now. You say you are changing the system to get away from hologrinding. To make it quest system more immersive. But, with this traffic control system. You punish the players that have 'played' the game like you devs say you wanted. That explored, did the quests and actaully played the game.

How utterly pathetic. Im not so much pissed that i have to wait for a visit but the way you guys figured out the deserved credits for holo-grinding is way of.

I started playing just when pub9 went live ergo I and probably lots more were not able to get any clues of what retarded proffs we should grind.

To top that off I now have to wait probably several weeks to be able to do retarded quests with zero content and actually paying for it. Excuse me.

He said daily, not hourly, which I take to Me then will be checking it once a day to let the next group in, which could take weeks......

While it's true post 9 unlockers qualify for the visit immediately, that does not mean instantaneously. Just run around the wilderness like we did on TC2 and he'll come eventually.

The old man will visit you when you have completed the requirements of the new path to becoming a Jedi. While this new path is still a secret, it is no where near as daunting as the holo-professions method. We have made additional provisions for those that worked partially through the old system. Here is how you will be allocated a visit based on the old system:

You will be granted access to the village…

Automatically qualify

Group 1

Group 2

Group 3

Group 4

When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group. Groups 1 – 4 will qualify for a visit when the village traffic has died down.Of course, if you qualify for the visit under the new system, you will automatically be granted a visit from the old man.

Always.

While very relieving to finally know how things were happening under the old system, I'm a bit distressed about the highlighted portion of the quote above. I can understand why this is going to be the case, as anyone who went on TC2 knows (the lag was awful!), it still upsets me a bit to see this is the way it is going to happen.

The question I have about this is: You have said "When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group." If I am in group 4, am I looking at around 30 weeks before I am able to go to the village? That number (30) is based on:

The credit you will receive is…

6 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <----1 week

5 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <-----3 weeks

4 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <-----6 weeks (2 phases)

3 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <-----9 weeks (3 phases)

2 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <-----12 weeks (4 phases)

1 Force Sensitive branch will be granted <---me:31 weeks total from above.

If this is the case, then there are going o be a lot of REALLY, REALLY pissed off people, waiting around for their "turns" to get into the front door. I hope this isn't the case, but we'll just have to see.
