ok, nice TH. A tip for ya TH, when we CHs give the Q for next week, please don't give the 'wait for the combat revamp' explaination, we are all tired of hearing that.
I'm also glad that you posted the answers, those on the CH boards were beginning to think you weren't gonna start it back up/
Hey, I don't make up the questions - - you guys do. I only answer them with the best information I have at the time. The answers I give are the best answers I have. If they are repetative, then ask different questions =P (j/k :wink )
Are you bloody kidding me??!?!!
I've been here since launch. And regardless of the question the answers are:
- Wait for the combat balance
- We'd like to do that, but we can't
- This is an incredibly complex game
- All the (UI, DB, Designers, etc) are working on Jump to Lightspeed nee Space Expansion
- Wait for the combat balance

How about... telling us if the freaking combat revamp thats been promised for what, two months(?) will actually make it out before we die of old age?
Sorry, I love SW:G, and Iv'e probably been the most patient person here (I never even post in these threads), but this is plain silly. Almost every answer now is "wait for the revamp", fine, how about telling us when this revamp will be ? "When it's done"?

I'm not bitching, just clarifying. They've been saying "wait for the Combat Balance" since late November.

Realistically, given all the other answers we've receved, after JTL.
Screw JTL.
I'm sick and tired of waiting for bugs that existed in beta 3 to be fixed.

Will Musicians get the ability to buff their own Focus and Willpower? Also, can we get our buffs to last as long as Doctor buffs -- say, three hours? And would it be possible to improve the buff interface so that we can when we're buffing properly, how much time remains til the buff is done, and (most important) whether the buff actually worked?

Musicians will not get the ability to buff their own Focus and Willpower. As the system currently exists, if players could buff themselves, they would get experience points every time they buffed themselves and that is bad design. In the future, Keldarin wants to change the system and then it would be possible. As for extending buff durations? It is hard to say since much of this will be changing with the combat balance.
Whether or not a player is buffing properly or if it worked will be displayed in the buff icon window and the character sheet. If the icon appears and your stats change, then the buff worked. As for the displaying the buff duration information in the buff window, the answer is "not at this time". All the UI programmers are working on JTL."
TH, you didn't answer the question. The issue is not for the RECIPIENT of the buff to see a buff interface, it's the MUSICIAN who needs to know if it WORKED OR NOT. Here, I'll make it really easy for you. Let's call the "buffee" TH, and the musician or "buffer" Warryyr:
TH: "can you musician buff me, Warryyr?"
Warryyr: "sure! 5k for a buff! It'll take about 8 minutes."
(TH tips Warryyr 5000 credits)
(TH listens, Warryyr /setperforms, and Warryyr plays for 8 minutes)
Warryyr: "/stoplisten for your buffs, check your buff windows and stat sheet to make sure it worked."
(TH sees his secondaries are buffed, and see an icon in his buff window.)
TH: "It didn't work - and I have to run. Tip me my money back."
(Warryyr can't prove TH's Mind secondaries are buffed. There is no "proof" his buff worked. He can't see TH's mind secondary stats to prove TH was really buffed. He has no idea if TH is trying to scam a buff. He has no choice, he has to tip back or get face the possibility of being griefed for being a thief, possibly affecting future clients.)
The above problem is at the heart of this question - I don't think you really read the question. Dancers know that their buffs worked because the MIND BAR JUMPS when their buff applies - MUSICIANS SECONDARY BUFF, TH. How do we prove that another player's secondary stats are actually buffed? How do they prove they're not? See? Understand, now? AHHHHHHH. Now please, answer the question - Musicians NEED to know that their buffs worked! I've had buffs "thieved" from me this way, I KNOW IT. A whole group did it to me once. They got their money back and free buffs - I played for literally 20 minutes for a group of 5 - and they all /listen, and i'm grouped with them. But, the claimed none of them got their buffs, and I didn't want to argue because a bunch of fighters had just run in, and they were needing buffs too. The group got free buffs. Can I prove it? Not without a BUFF INTERFACE for MUSICIANS.
Please respond, this totally sucks with the current system.
Thank you for actually making an effort to address the concerns of all these professions. I really do appreciate that.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------BOOO!!!!!!!
The developers must be fools to not realize that storage is becoming an ever more critical PROBLEM for crafters. I have a full bank vault, three full factories, and 2 medium houses FILLED and my inventory space is quickly dwindling. The developer's stance on the resource stacks is asinine. WHY WILL YOU NOT LISTEN TO YOUR PLAYERS!? 1 mil stacks should significantly reduce clutter in the db and our houses. I know for a fact that 1M stacks alone will open at least 100 item slots for me, yet you WILL NOT DO IT? WHY? Please explain. All we want is another zero in a database column. What would be so hard about allowing factory crates to go up to 1000? Heck, I would be happy if every crate went to 100 and we could re-stack them after splits. How many crates of 1, 2, 5 items do I have lying around? TOO MANY.WHY DON'T OMU's CRATE?!!?! Is this some sort of SICK JOKE?It is getting harder and harder to justify maintaining my accounts. Soon I will be frozen, as I will have no inventory or storage space left to do anything. Thanks
Sheesh, if you are having that much trouble with storage, why not take 5 minutes and get business 3 under Artisan, create a big machine vendor somewhere in a back room of your house and store all your stuff on that vendor for 9 gillion credits. If someone buys it for that you make a ton of money (way more than the item is worth) so who cares. Nobody is going to buy it for that much anyway.
This stuff isn't rocket science. I know because I'm certainly not very smart and I figured it out :-)

Thanks for answering the questions. An answer of "no" is better than "no answer".

Can you, and WILL you change Resource Stack size (currently set at 100k) to allow for up to a million units to be combined into a single stack, and Crated Components stack size be increased across the board to allow for a minimum of 100 per crate? If so, can we be given a "target" publish/mini-publish date for this? Upon doing this will this then help open the doors to reworking the storage capacities of certain structures?
No, we will not change the resource stack size....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why not? You gave a flat "no" there so I expect SOE has a specific reason that you wouldn't want to do it. Could you please explain the rationale? If you don't tell us why then all we know is that you didn't listen to what many of us seem to want and what seems to be a good idea all around.

WE NEED THAT FOR MUSICIANS, FOR GOD'S SAKE.
