Starports, however, provide an important roleplay function as well as just plain making it more realistic. Decreasing the wait time where travel time when you board the shuttle is already instantaneous causes the roleplaying galaxy of SWG to effectively shrink instead of being the huge galaxy full of wonder and adventure that the marketing people want it to appear as.
I am a little disappointed that this change didn't incorporate things like decreased wait times for friendly factioned (in that city) players. For example, have a Rebel chartered shuttle that lands more frequently in the Moenia starport to take Rebel players (and only Rebel players) to other Rebel cities and Rebel bases. Imperials would have a greater advantage since Imperials control more cities, but this would encourage players to pick a side! Make it so rank has advantages as well with decreased fees (increase the fees for regular shuttles).
I understand that changing the wait time on the existing system from 10 minutes to 5 minutes was probably an easy fix -- one variable in the code. I do hope, however, that the Devs have greater vision for the future instead of just making things gradually easier on players. It seems to be an all too popular theme to lower the bar in the original game systems then raise it in an expansion -- it's great for marketing, but unrealistic from a player perspective.
So just how much was it increased?
On the same point of wookiee armor... the best (HAM wise) I've been able to find so far, the encumbrances were 430/473/264, I think this was mountain armor. Now, my action stats (maxed out as fas as I could take them in stat mig) are only 550/500. That would drop me to 77/27. This would essentially drop me to no action regen at all, and since I use carbines, that's my highest cost for special moves, which means this stuff is worthless to me in combat (I only do PvE)... is that right, or am I just having issues finding an armorsmith who knows how to make armor and get the HAM down?

Crafting: Increased the Crafting Quest practice XP reward for crafting jobs by a small amount.
Wookiee Armor: Increased encumbrance of Wookiee Armor 2&3.
