Patch notes for Pubish 9:

- Removed neuroligical maniputlator from players' minds so they're no longer forced to play the game against their will if they do not like it.

- Increased allotted skill points to 2203. It is now possible to master every profession in the game simultaneously.

- Reduced xp required to level each skill to 1 xp per skill level (ie, 1xp for box 1, 2 xp per box 2).

- Added module for droids that will allow you send it into the world, take missions, kill enemies, loot, harvest, and return to you with all the goods. Players receive 100% of the xp droids receive while performing this task.

- Increased armor for all droids to ap3 and incresed resists to 99% with 10,000 HAM. It is now less likely to be damaged while in use.

- Changed the need of having a specific resource to make a specific item. It is now possible to craft anything with any given resource.

Oh, wait... no one IS actually forced to play the game against their will. My mistake, but it would be hard to tell from a lot of the posts flaming poor TH and the developers.

Great job on the entertainer modules (though aren't there 6 of them, not 5 as u stated TH?). We're having a ball with "Funkydroid" in Theed cantina on Chimaera right now

So here we are again. Another publish. For the most part, I am unnconcerned withthe Driods as only time will tell how good for the game they truely are. The part that gets me is the Starport wait is still at 10 minutes, as if we all only use shuttles to go back and forth on 1 planet. Poor people who are harvesting, which the game requires you to travel all over 10 planets to be effective. And what happend to go form any planet to any planet. Not so bad to wait Once and reach your destination, but a trip form Dantooine to Rori can take you over 40 minutes to get there. 40 minutes of doing NOTHING. Dont tell me to craft while I wait, Im not a crafter. Oh yes, I can read the msotly blank Bios about where people been. whoo hooo! Oh I forgot, shuttle waits bring IMERSION to the game nad to NOT WAIT would BREAK the IMERSION. As if carrying , I dont know but say, 45 Metric tons of 12 different resources is IMERSION, or having 3 pets and 3 different vehicles to pull OUT OF THIN AIR where ever you want is IMERSION. Oh yes shuttle waiting is SO STAR WARSY as every one likes to say. Every gmae trades off IMERSION for game mechanics. SWG is no different. In any game the IMERSION you get is what YOU bring to it. Saying the DEVS wont change the wait times cause it will BREAK THE IMERSION is jsut silly and wrong. IMERSION, to me, IS PLAYING THE GAME NOT WAITING AROUND ON GAME MECHANICS.

And since I voiced a strong opinion now the fan bois will be sure to flame me and tell me how wrong I am. Please do, at least Ill be IMERSED in the flames!

I can agree to a point with this post...no one is forcing anyone to play.....However what you fail to realize is that these people have a right to complain about how their money is being spent. The Developers are not taking correspodent issues seriously or are blatently ignoring these forums or are not getting proper feedback from TH and the others in charge of this aspect of SOE. So dont flame a thread because you think they dont have a right to say how they feel. Yes they dont have to pay or play the game...but if they do then they have a right to voice thier opinion.

Regarding the entertainer droid modules...

Aren't you most likely to find Dancers and Musicians in cantinas?

And isn't there a restriction on calling a droid inside a building?

Last time I tried calling my med droid in a cantina, the system told me I needed to go outside to call my droid.

Seems to me that if you're adding an entertainment module, or even a stimpack module, you'll want to make droids callable inside. It strikes me as absurd that a Musician or Doctor should have to go outside to call their Penn & Teller or Nurse Betty droids.

Merchant Barker Driods must go. I had thought that AFK spammer at the startports were annoying... now this. SOE please remove them form the game. I don't like paying $15 dollars a month to be spammed.

new entertainer modules are great!

only thing that is weird about droids is the way you have to name them...

couldn't ya add an option to rename droids similar to the way you can rename structures?

Man I don't know what peoples problem withthe spamis...it's the only way for most people to advertise. Get over it! I usually ahve my TELLS tab selected so the spams isn't annoying to me. I just don't see spam as that big of a deal.

Another set of hopes crushed mercilessly by the devs once again.

Survey Module:
Give us all a break. It takes less time to miss a shuttle, manually survey a world, and miss another shuttle getting back to my homeworld than it does for my droid to survey. AND, when I do that, I get stats. Fix is simple: Return with stats of each resource. Don't locate waypoints (this is what survey 4 is really used for)

Scout Harvest Module:
Here was a chance for pure combat types and support profs (entertainer/artisans) to harvest without sacrifcing their level of fun, just to harvest resources. Here was a chance to increase harvested resources brought to market and make the harvested resource market competitive. The initial announcement of this module was "everyone". What we get a droid module that is marginally effective, but not AS effective as a melee ranger with a "/loot;/harvest hide" macro on veghash. Fix is again simple. Allow unskilled profs to use droid to harvest at novice scout level.

What sucks the most is that the scout harvest module was about to give casual players the ability to still get their hands on harvestables that are going for 30-100cpu.

  • Spatial is the default chat channel. It must be a living hell for a new person to the game. In high traffic areas it's practically impossible to conduct any type of conversation.

  • For people with very high spec computers and good connectivity the lag is just abouttolerable but if your computer and/or connection has a slight weakeness, that harmless spam grinds you down to a point where the game isalmost unplayable.

  • Spatial is the only practical means of communicating to a wider audience. I tend to switch to groupchat now to avoid the spam but I am an experienced player and global communication is not something I need to do or see. This isnot the case for many players particularly those that do not play often and new-starters. In any case, I would like the choice but spammers take away that choice by 'hogging' spatial.

  • You can only /emote in a channel. Try smiling at somebody in coronet and likely the recipient will never see it.

I don't blame the spammers. This is simply poor game design. SWG is heavily crafter oriented and there is a need to advertise but sellers and buyers often have little choice but to spam the heck out of high traffic areas.

There should be a predefined channel for sellers and buyers or some other mechanism like a bazaar terminal where sellers and buyers can advertise.

That's a good idea the bazaar thing..though merchants might get annoyed.

The Nova Troopers are cool, except that in Bestine on the server bloodfin, all non-attackable white targets are attacking them. Its funny though, so no hurry to fic it!

And what do the image disigner tents do? I could use them, but I probably didnt read something on them that says they are only for image designers.
