I have seen a lot of different posts requiesting not something that takes away from crafters, but something that gives to them. I think this is the best idea.

There are many things that a warrior will find useless that can be highly valued by the crafting community. These come in three catagories (that I can think of):

Rare resource, this could take the form of an ore that has many exceptional qualities (but only comes in quantity of 100 or so),

Item buffs;this is somethingcrafters can use when making an item, this has been seen in the Krayt graveyard where the tissues allow the most amazing things to be made in the galaxy... (sad that the Krayt seems to be the only big bonus resources);

Schematics; this third catagorycontains the schematics that have been previously mentioned, I think it'd be wonderful to have a warrior find a schematic that can be repaired by a master artisan, and can then be used one time only (or so) by a master architect, or weaponsmith, or armorsmith.

Something like this would also bring a flavor of rare items into the game that would be enjoyed by all! But still rare enough that it's cool when you see someone wearing it.

It'd be cool if you could add faction to this random schematics thing as well, my dream is to dress up as a scout trooper, or a tie pilot, if I could find a schematic for a scout helmet I'd run through dathomir naked to get it to an imperial master armorsmith. (there are clothing schematics I'd do the same for as well)

I would like to see some animal skulls dropped as loot. I've heard of one such quest to get one but I don't know the planet or waypoint. Along with that, I would like to see a placement command that would allow me to raise an object in my house ( like the /moveFurniture fwd/back command). And, while I'm here, is there any chance of giving a /taxidermy command to the Ranger Class sush that they would be able to make a house placeable animal that Bio-Eng's cannot make? Or just make stuffed animals a quest item?

Q-3PO this may seem rude but people do not care for your design objectives but they want to have fun.

People ask for loot and content so if you want people to keep playing you have to comply.

To who will crafters sell their items if all players not interested in crafting quit the game out of boredom?

NO people do not ask for another EQ or DAOC but if your devs use their imagination just a little they will find ways to put in maybe rare mobs and decent loot on creatures without turning the game into another EQ or DAOC.

I did not care for the EQ vision and i do not care more for your design objectives when they provide no fun to me and most other players.

We play and pay to have fun and not to be experimental concept cobays ( spelling errmm)

And next to me a guy Standing with almost 80% composit armor that doesnt take a Scratch. It's totaly Unfair that all races have one except us Wookiees. the other thing is the Cloth slection is realy poor. Not much to choose from. If you would please Concider this in your Future development I would appreciate it.

Several rewards come to mind that would be a motivation:

1) Rare high quality ore treasure that have stats that are all 985+ e.g. Rainbow Gesmstone

2) Ancient teleportation device with limited uses that will take you to diff planets

3) Ancient tools that can find ore fields at a much greater distance or for a period of time produce 100% improved items in assembly.

4) Shield devices that have a limited charge that make you 100% invulnerable to attacks

5) A device that would allow you to see all ores on all planets from your present position for a limited amount of time / uses. Sorta of a ore seeker probe

6) Rewards that grant an extra skill point.

7) Rewards that give extra experimentation points.

It's really pretty simple. You want good loot, and you want to keep crafters in the loop. Make loot drops that can be used by crafters to make nicer items.

Say, a static area where Imperial scientists are working on room-temperature superconductors. These can be used in some types of armor to reduce heat/cold/energy damage...

Maybe there might be a Mon Calamari energy weapon specialist who can build you a special power coupler that will increase weapon damage, and has to be applied to your weapon by a weaponsmith, using their repair skill...

Perhaps Artisans might be able to quest for extreme range survey devices, or perhaps survey devices that operate more efficiently...

In other words, make the quests give items that areONLY useful if a crafter is put in the loop. Any loot item that can be earned (that does not require a crafter's assistance to make it a useable item) should be inferior to master-crafter made items.

Ideally, the items would also be "character flagged" so that only the character that did the quest would be allowed to use it, or whatever is made from it. Note that this does not mean it cannot be traded to a crafter so they can make items for you.

Example: A quest is completed by JohnDoe Runningwaver. He recieves a Frammagadget for completing the quest. He can trade the frammagadget to whoever he likes, but whatever gets made from the frammagadget can only be used by JohnDoe Runningwaver himself, though it is tradeable. Perhaps a master slicer might be able to, umm, adjust this limitation, but the device is so complex that even a master slicer has avery significantchance of destroying the item entirely...

Welp there went my .02

Faction banners would be a blast to have in my house.. so a mission that spit out flags would be nice. Perhaps missions that explaned the past a little more and its effect on things to come.. such as clone trooper armor. I honestley want some kind of iteam that would take along time to get... it does not need to be uber but something that would make it worth my time.. such as..... ahem clone trooper armor

Okay...not that my suggestions will be seen on page 31 but here goes anyway...

Story points....I've finished many of the smaller multi-legged quests--free the slave sisters and rounding up the band members come to mind. I had fun doing them, and I don't even really remember how many credits I got for them..didn't matter. But I did want something for posterity, something to remind me that I had done these quests--a lock of hair from a rescued slave. When I rounded up all the band members in Mos Eisly's Lucky Depot, I thought now wouldn't it be cool if the band then started playing. They could play for 15 minutes, then dispand.

  • artwork--sculptures, paintings,

  • sound entities--items that have sounds so we can place them in our homes.

  • marrage proposal---betrothed to an in-game NPC who then 'lives' at your house.

  • single use healing--something that couldn't be farmed.

  • a unique powerup--again, something not farmable

  • Medals--like those Luke and Han received.

But rewards can be less tangible, and yet still be relevant:

  • simple notes that reveal part of a story.

  • clues that unlock other quests

  • a statue and/or recognition plaque that the game places in a city in your honor.

In my opinion one thing is really important ... randomize quest reward/loot. Not every player finishing the quest should get the exact same thing ...... if there a good loot known and postet in forums there is a run on that point .... this should be avoided by randomizing.

Much more unique items , especially much more unique technology not weapons or armors should be there .... hey this game plays in a highly advanced time acc . to the technology level . but i havent seen really advanced technology except droids and defelctors in this game .

i mean stuff like advanced sensors for the radar , infrared glasses , ultraviolett glasses or tracking devices , really efficent unique deflector shields. what u get should depend on the person doing the quest . maybe guys with tka skills should get a real high advanced VK with kinda special thing like the ability to do poison or desease or a DE should get kinda limited shematic with an item thats normally not produceable, creature handlers a unique unknown pet depending on their handling level , BH's kinda improved scatter .... or the reward should be a skill increase .... but its really important that its randomized

One thing i have noticed is that there are some furniture typs that crafters cant make (the only one i've noticed are SPEAKERS) You could make more furniture types out there not conflicting towards other crafter-made furniture. For instance, alot of ppl have been creative and been making their own fishtanks at home. Why not make a fishtank or maybe build certain electronics or gambling tables so ppl could place in their homes.

Another thing i have been noticing is the lack of really good clothing and armor attachments the npc's drop. Cant make these items and alot of us cant take down the local dark jedi on the planet for that +25 Clothing assembly attachment, so why not have it drop random uber-attachments?

-my 2 cents (hope they're worth something)

Desired Rewwards can be summed up in 1 word....EXPERIENCE!, It takes very long just to become a master of a basic profession and then to asusme the apprentice points to get a hybrid profession, Experience rewards would make me, a very happy tansdoshan !
