Master Creature Handlers are at a severe disadvantage on the Vette. Because creatures were "rebalanced" before anything else in the game, and because nothing has been "rebalanced" since, anyone using a creature as a weapon is hamstrung. Please revert creatures back to their pre-December combat effectiveness.

Half the people talking about their 'experience' with the Corvette in this thread, have never been anywhere near it.

Finally!

Oh. My. Goddess.

We did it.

Tonight I finally led a group on not one, but two successful destroy mission attempts. In a row!

The good:
A real feeling of accomplishment - that thing is HARD
Av-21 Schematics, I have two of them now! Wahhoo! Shiny!
Decent loot. Got a nice SR Combat pistol in one run.
Progression. It gets harder and you have options to bow out when it happens.
Challenge, it really was fun deciphering what it takes to destroy that ship.

The not-so good:
group limit of 10? whatever for? It just doesn't make sense in context.
travel to 3 different places in the galaxy? time sink/money sink. not FUN. one random location would have been much better
AI, while surrounded by melee'ers not going to melee??

The BAD:
Gating powerplants. If you wanted to make this one powerplant per mission, fine, he simple answer is give the ticket owner the powerplant. Because they exist in a lootable container, maybe, this leads to one thing, and one thing alone. Successful Ninja Looting. There is no group notification when a container is looted. But now there's motivation to do so. Becuase for a group of 10 people to get power plants, they have to run the vette at LEAST 10 times. I say at least because on 3 separate occasions I was first to all of the armoires and droid, and received no powerplant.

At this point, I don't care WHAT you do, but fix this one thing. Add group notifications for container looting, fine, now we the players can resolve the problem. Give the ticket owner a powerplant on completion, fine, we can run the thing as many times as we need to to make sure our people get the shiny's. But to flat out encourage/reward bad behavior is reproachful.

How do I feel about the vette? On the whole, it's fun. It makes teams work together. It's suitably challenging, and repeatable. But I dont think I'll be going back to complete it anytime soon. Not until _something_ can be done to keep _everyone_ honest.

The adventure idea and the instanced dungeon are very cool. However, the npc's you have to fight are insanely tough. So ridiculously tough that the experience quickly becomes frustrating, maddening, annoying, upsetting, etc. If the enemy really had troops this tough, even the emperor would be quickly overwhelmed. A full party, buffed, with multiple high-end pets and 3 docs, etc, can last about 5 minutes vs the weaker enemies... you get more than one or 2 of these guys fighting you and it's all over. Once some people die, that's it, becuase you can't rebuff at all. After that it is an incap and die
festival. A macabre dance ensues as your whole team gets incap or dies, and then get healed or rezed and stand up, then get instantly incapped again, and you spend about 45 minutes in one hallway or area and your party gets all split up and no one can do anything because the enemy npcs are just ridiculous. 90+K HAMs and they do thousands of damage in one hit. You do realize that as players we only have about 1K HAMs if we are lucky, and even buffed that only goes up to about 3k? It's one shot and you go down, every time, when unbuffed. Buffed - well you can take a few hits, but these guys don't miss and once you go down, you are toast. What's even worse? When they do mind damage, which can't be healed or buffed (except by entertainers, if you find one that can do it and spend the time, but even with it... it can't be healed! Of course, i suppose it can be healed but at the expense of the healers mind, so that's extremely finite). So, even with buffs, you can still be taken down in one shot. And they don't ever miss.

Well, I can tell you thatthis is very unfun, to the point that one has to stop playing the game for a while to cool off. I think I will not begoing back to the corvette of the GODS because my character certainly isn't a GOD and it is very not fun up there.

I was with a small squad of four who successfully completed the neutral Corvette mission.

#1. Master BE/CH+Pistoleer of somesort
#2. Master Armorsmith/Pistoleer
#3. Master Doctor/Master Fencer
#4. TK/Commando I think.

After the initial break in (really the only place where my Master Doctor/Master Fencer was needed) the rest of the mission was a cakewalk, for several reasons:

a. NPCs get hung up targetting PCs they can't shoot (like on different floors).
b. NPCs don't switch targets very often at all.
c. NPCs are easily fooled by elevators.
d. NPCs can be drawn into fighting each other, solving your problem for you.
e. NPCs are entirely uncoordinated in groups.

So, while the three of us sowed confustion by picking up targets and running down hallways, taking one or two shots then running, our lead completed the mission. We suffered no fatalities, as I recall.

I plan on returning to the Corvette with the sole purpose of destroying as many targets as possible, not to complete the mission. The mission itself isin't very hard to do at all.

Moral: High-HAM targets does not content make.

Well, Sanctuary guild on Naritus has been at it for a week (we took this sun-wed off) WE have not beaten it yet. We know everything we need to do on the destroy mission, even got the loot for the engine, the berserker rifle , blah blah... but as everyone has said... the clone thing is an issue... and the lack of buffs essentially puts us on a defense/recon rather than full out attack. Even avoiding those who are major timewasters and concentrating on the npcs we need to kill has not helped.

Many in my group have also said the battledroids and their big brothers have ridiculously high HAMS... and the reasoning as many have said before is we can all kill Krayts, supposedly the uber critter, but yet our top TKMs die in 30 seconds, even being attended to by not one but two docs and 3 with CM skills, some masters??

but then there's the flip side... one of our Docs went in there all by her lonesome, and was able to solo the thing... AND COME OUT WITH A SECOND BERSERKER RIFLE SCHEMATIC... (she's also a rifleman) yet when she was in our HIGHLY coordinated group... she was among the dead?

for my perspective rather than argue about how tough it is... I gladly go again and again, until I have the satisfaction of saying... "Corvette, been there, done that... killed it"

My big bone of contention is this... why couldn't we have a cut scene where we see our shuttle LEAVING Naboo, and flying up to where the corvette is... it would not take that long to play out, and would be a HELL of a lot better than the "loading screen"...

It makes me wonder if once the space expansion comes out if we are going to transition into our ships by loading screen, or by hopping in em like we do with speeders... then blasting off...

That would be way more immersive... at least for me.

It's the little things devs... the little things...

other than that, I am ready to go up there again...

Oh by the way, how come us carbineers get no love eh? I have yet to see any really great carbines come from these dungeons!

Well, to this moment I have been on the vette like 5 times and completed it twice. I did the destroy and the rescue missions. All of the missions follow a basic formula to get to your objective, power up the bridge elevator.(lol)Itdoes suck that i cannot just go up there and kill rebels. The two times I have completed it was with 2 and 3 others. Small groups with no weapons or armor. It wasjust a fact of going frompoint a to b to c getting little objectives done. I would have thought there would have been more interest and challenge to it. I don't have to fight anything, just flip some switches. Definitely lame. Also the loot is nothing to cry home about. Ok so you get a schematic, big deal. You cannot craft it unless you find the elusive power core. Whats gonna happen to this new speeders when the shuttle bug is gone? People are going to whine when a member of the opposite faction blows it up. And since there will be way of repairing a disabled speeder, there goes your "uber loot" down the drain. Good concept... poorly executed. Better luck next time!

Also another idea would have been to give parts for the speeder when you completed the different missions, not ok you did all three missions here is 3 schematics that you can't use cause you did not get a core. Not very imaginative. What did the devs take 5 minutes to plan all of it? An attempt to placate the masses with an uber dungeon.. that I completed with just clothes on and not firing a shot. Way to go!

I've now officially been to the corevette four times... and even though we havet reached our objective.... i enjoyed myself everytime.... and so did everyone in my guild... Why? Cause it wasnt a job too us... we where thier for the challenge of our gaming lives... yes. But wewhere also thier for FUN. To have a good ole fashion Hack and Slash slaughter fest. And we did... thier was death on all sides... true most of it was on ours. But the Laughs where better... the jokes and the insults slung at the rebal scum... the pure joy of killing that rebal that just a few minutes ago all but wiped out your party. This dongeun is a blast... why?... cause we cant walk all over it.... ITs earned the respect of my guild... and thats something SWG has never been able to do.

I look forward to beating the Corvette.. its our guilds new goal... and i hope the devs dont change it... that would cheapin it.

And Now For My Personal Pet Peev..... The Armor/DeathDecay Issue. I love it... armor should decay when you die. THose that cry it doesnt make any sense, armor decays from combat. Well yah... its being shot at by energy blasters and slug throwers... its going to decay in combat and it should... thats realistic. As for the decay on death... thats realistic too.. HELLO YOU JUST DIED..... that means something got through you armor and your now dead.... thiers a big freaking hole in your armor where your heart, lungs and pancreaseuse to be.... and your DEAD. HMmm that huge hole is going to make that armor less effect... Cause you know.. it is a Hole. Key word thier..hole. Gee if i die alot... then thiers lots of freaking holes in my armor... gee no wonder armor becomes less effective when i die. Hence the armor decay when you die. And Realistically it should never change...

On another note...those who pay 500k or 1 million credits for armor are just silly. Geesh thats the funniest thing i ever heard... dont any of you have guilds. Guildies are thier to help one another... i get top end armor for free... why cause our guild armor smith always saves the good stuff for the guild. Hes helps us.. we help him... its the barter system.... he needs weapons and food... and i need armor. Hes not in it for money... hes in it FOR FUN... CAUSE ITs a GAME.... key word their... GAME. Perhaps you all need to find better armorsmiths for your guilds, hmmperhaps some inner guild community? Socializing? Just a suggestion...I mean if your still comfortable paying silly amounts of money for armor so you cancomplain about armorsmiths being to rich feel free too go ahead and continue with your ways. Who am i too spoil your Fun.

I hope the Devs read all this...

Ive now run the Corvette about a dozen times...Ive got 5 of the 6 badges...and some cool loot..

There are alot of both good & bad about it..but for me the biggest game playing thing that has changed is the "forced grouping"..if u want to call it that..(yes u can solo the corvette..but...)

So what do I mean by a "forced group" and why has it changed my star wars game playing??

Random strangers meet at the shuttle points..form groups up to 10 people and are off..Some groups are great ..others have been disasters..but at the end of the day, because of these groups Ive been in..Ive met some of the best people that this game has to offer...THAT..if nothing else..makes this dungeon a success..thank you for your time..hope the devs read all these

um...I finally finished one fo the missions and it was because one of our groupmembers knew what do to...but after awhile I realized you can't over power any of the NPCs, so I put away my weapon and simply just walked around them...and when they aggro me I just feigned death or took the incap instride and kept exploring the corvette...you just have to outsmart and out manuever them, because the NPCs will out gun you.

Does anyone know a good link where I can get a map of the corvette? I always get lost up there.

I must say I truly love the Corvette. I've been up there about 12 times now. And it just keeps on getting better. At first I really couldnt understand how anyone could be able to finish it. Then little by little I managed to figure out the ship and where things are.
That whats really great about it is that if forces a team too cooperate. You can't have people running around trying to kill npc's solo becuase then he will bring the hole group to harm. Your have to work as a team.

Now when I go up there we even do assasin mission with no sweat. We actually did assasin mission with no deaths and 40 minutes too spare. Even killed off three super droids. Something we couldnt even think of at first.

And the thing about finding out things, find the switches and parts is really great. Just love the Corvette.

Thanks for a great adventure, hope too see more of it!
