Thread: Chat Server Stabilized
I also find /tellpet frequently does not work. Count this as another vote to remove general spam from both the comabt window and the guild chat window.
How about a thread on this board about "The most irratating bug in the game" That way we can let you know what bugs effect us the most.
For me it would be the disappearing players bug! I play 3 chars at once and very frequently they can not see each other. Makes /follow and heals very difficult to say the least.
thanks.

CONGRATS KEVIN!!!!!!!!!!!
it only took u guys what? seven months. great work.

It makes me worry for the future to read a post like this.
Almost seven months into live play, and the chat server is finally (supposedly) working as intended.
A chat server, which technologically (along with e-mail) should have been the easiest, most basic systems in the game, that has been reliable technology so long it can be measured in decades.
Um...*cheer*?

My wishlist echoes some of the issues that have already been brought up:
1. "Channel information updated" needs to go. 'Nuff said.
2. A zone-wide or planet-wide channel specifically for trading, similar to EQ's /auction channel. Prior to launch, I remember a poll asking the players what kind of system channels they would like to see. Most of the options on that poll (trading channel, planetary channel, city channel, etc.) have either never shown up or require that players go through lots of clicks and screens to manually add them.
3. Better updating on the Friends list. I'm not sure if this is a chat-server related thing or not, but I occasionally have friends show up as "online" status when they are actually offline. I most recently experienced this phenomenon two days ago.
4. A Friday Feature on how to use the chat system. I'm amazed at the number of players I come across who don't realize that you can alter the tabs to filter out certain types of text, create new windows to hold just /tells or /guildchat, etc. There's all kinds of tips and tricks out there that people can use so they don't accidently cross-post, mistell, or miss a conversation because it scrolls out too fast. Unfortunately, the manual and online documentation have little to no information about this.
Address this please:
I send a tell. We chat using /r
Just before I click send, someone else pops in with a tell to me.....and voila....THEY get my /r message.
please fix this...

TWO FEATURE REQUESTS
1. Auto-Join Chat Channel - For chat channels other than the default channels. Make a little checkbox in the chat channel selector that says, "Join channel on Login?"
2. City-Chat - Chat channel for citizens of the city you live in. Works the same way as guild chat, but for a city.
Great job on improving the stability of the chat server.
galaxy wide trade channels would make me very happy. instead of avoiding coronet because of all the /shouting.
AO has channels like this. you get on the channel and sell your stuff.
a galaxy wide channel for people looking to form a hunting group would be very helpful as well.
AO also has that feature.
i think these 2 features would cut down on all the annoying people in coronet many of us put /addignore and ENCOURAGE grouping(this is what you want isnt it?) as it would be much easier to form a group and have you all meet.
About 50% of long chat messages do not go through. If u send it twice, it goes through once.
Has been that way for a long time, no changes made the last month or two has changed it for the better. Pretty common. So common most people just wait a few seconds & when messages don't show up they just resend them again....
Tracklor on Chilastra.
I had forgotten all about the massive problems with the chat servers.
Tat is a sign that something is working properly. Nice to see. ![]()
