Problem is, the costumes are limited. Most of us would show up as Tusken Raiders since that's the easiest suit to come across. Maybe some would show up in DIS or Mandalorian armor, but we're limited.

Only if you stick to Star Wars Themed costumes. I've seen characters based upon: He-Man, the X-Men (Storm, Wolverine, Emma Frost, Jubilee, Rachael, Beast) and Laura Croft. I'm sure there are more out there that I've seen, but I'm not remebering them right now.

Personally, my avataris based on Storm, not that many players have caught it, because I prefer the 80's version. But I suspect the CSR who so kindly awarded me with the Great Bio badge did.

I think you''ll find it originated in the UK with the Celts..UK wins again. lol History lessons needed i think!!

Message Edited by Aulendil on 10-30-2004 05:05 AM

Sorry, my friend, but you need a HISTORY LESSON too!

The Celts have only emigrated to UK!

They originally "spawned" in MIDDLE EUROPE, somewhere around AUSTRIA or Germany.....

So the continent wins ultimately!!!

(Yes, I'm from Vienna, AUSTRIA....)

This is awesome. I'll have to keep an eye out for a group of wandering NS. Unless by anychance they will be trick or treating in bestine on Naritus. I have a trick I'ld like to show them.

Also, this being Halloween weekend, be wary of Spiderclan Nightsisters (and their cute spider pets) roaming about the planets looking to make trouble for innocent travelers. It seems they tend to wander pretty far from home this time of year as a number of adventurers have been finding out recently. /wink

Pex,

I don't mind you guys trying to spice things up a bit with live events, but could you do them out of town and just drop a crier or two around the starting city near the action yelling the waypoint for those interested. Some folks are actually trying to do space missions, conduct business, and work on their ships. We don't have time for this foolishness. Tonight you took away two hours of my game play because I couldn't gettoa bazaar terminal to buy parts for my ship. The game ishard enough without the developers griefing the players.

LOL, Just messin'

Except for the rated down thing...

Oh BTW, this player event was a comical sight to behold! Good job.

Personally, if ground combat excited me anymore, this whole spiderclan nonsense might have gotten me excited. But I've played JtL, and the skill-free min-max math game that is ground combat no longer is interesting. All my old combat players are all healers and crafters to support my spaceflight habits.

Sad, though, that my Tailor/Merchant couldn't get anything done as she was eviscerated by a wayward spider in Theed. Meanwhile, my Doctor/Freelance Pilot has to plot around carefully to walk to the far end of Theed just so she can pick up a mission.

For Roleplay, this ruined my night. At no point was this implemented in any way resembling an intellegent plan, and we are all now stupider for having experienced it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

(just kidding, Pex. I love you, but can you not spawn high-level aggros in major mercantile areas? Tailor v. Nightsister = Dead Tailor. At least make them non-aggro or aggro on people of certain faction, e.g.: negative Spider Clan faction)

Ofcourse the afk people in coronet got the 'event badge', instead of the people trying to save as manypeople around the bank and in the cantina....................so no badge for me *shakes head*

The Spiderclan assault on Coronet was cool - nice event.

There wasn't a single pc corpse on the ground on farstar. So I'd have to say - up the difficultly a notch there next time. Also it would be UBER sweet if we could loot nightsister outfits from one of these events. Yeah I know, my Master Armorsmith/Master Architect/Master Artisan/Merchant 3402 wasn't much of a threat to the spiders - yet I managed to rack up -5k spider clan faction - woot! And about 20 rifle xp with my non-cert dxr-6b. I was really hoping to see some afk spammer corpses. OOOHH SCARY!

I'd gladly trade my badge for a NS hat or something. ((My farstar character RP'sa dathomir clanner - so it was especially nice to watch those weak pathetic spider clanners die even to pathetic...))

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

Oh there were.. a few guildmates got killed .. and I was wandering around unbuffed just healing people, as an unbuffed rifleman is about as useful as a paper bucket.

Then the spiderclan woman killed the only person left tanking her and decided I was her next target .. so I just ran to the starport with her chasing me lol

Right on!

Had a good time against the spiders downtown coronet LOL, even though I died Both times.

The first time was a surprise, but the second time I pulled out 2 of my best cats, ate my best food, and proceeded to the nearest spider. I sent my pets in, and the spider flew past them and hit me so hard I was dead before I hit the ground HAHAHAHA!!! I layed there watching my pets get whooped for a sec before cloning, and when I came to it seems a group had come by and saved my pets and killed the spider.

Nice work devs, but, could I at least get a badge too?

I must remember armor next time, that could mean the difference of maybe death on the ground, instead of death in the air! It really was fun though, and being surprised was the best part. =)
