Thread: Friday Feature Pt.2 :: Advanced Player City Guide
It's a little thing, but it might cause some confusion...
/cityban- The banned player may not enter a civic structure in the city and may not use the shuttleport.
/cityparden- Unbans a /citybanned player.
"parden" should be"pardon".
Unless that's a typo in the post and it's actually correct in the game.

And this, in a nutshell, is why almost everybody is building their cities within 1km of an existing city.
We're trying to build a city in an out of the way area, exactly the kind of place that you should want. Something that would help drive players to content that's being dramatically under-used, like the PvP battlefields, and various dungeons, and various POIs.
But with shuttleports being limited to only level 4 cities, that means that we have (a) 24 hours to persuade 9 people to park houses there, and to get the full benefit, we have to get another what? 20? 30? 40 people? to park houses there before a shuttle can become available.
It's right at about 7km from any permanent city to ours. With exploration IV and a bit of judicious dodging and burst run, I can do it in about a half an hour. So once they park those houses there, it's an all day task to take a starship to another planet, and will be that way for at least three weeks. That is not an easy sell!
And if this change goes live early Monday, it means that our city hall, like nearly all of the ones distant from existing cities, will almost certainly go "poof." If that's how it's going to be, then what is the point of the game even having shuttle ports? I mean, who's going to wait 10 minutes to take a shuttle to travel 500 meters?

Geez, my city is way out in the middle of Lok near the Imperial base. You know what a pain it is to get people to run all the way out there? We want to have a genuine thriving metropolis, but you are making this very difficult right out of the gate. We have 7 people now and another 12 or so still moving but space is already getting a little limited. I can see fitting 20 people in a 150m radius. It is a little tight to say the least, but can be done without too much dificulty. But going to 30 people with 200m to work with is going to be a lot tougher. And there definately is not a lot of room to play with as far as setting up a garden and I can't imagine trying to set up a cloning center somewhere in there. Is there anything that can be done about this. It just seems a little tighter than it should be.
Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us more than a 24 hour notice that the 5 citizen to 10 citizen change is going into effect. Like I said, some of us are setting up and have a long run to coordinate with multiple players. It's a big move and we are being forced to move up the schedule and change plans. It's going to be a big city, just give us a chance to make it a nice city too. ![]()

Nice, changing the citizen requirements to attain each city type at the very_last_minute. Typical stealth nerf type stuff. I'm not sure why ya did it. Concerned that too many small outposts were popping up? Well given enough time, most would "go away". The novelty of it would wear off. After all, 35k to support a city hall per week serves as a rather strong disincentive.
So, again, thanks for that last minute kick in the nuts.
Alot of missspellings in that FAQ and incorrect numbers...
Was it a copy / paste effort?
once again is 21 citizens within 150m correct? Hope not…

ok... so am I correct in thinking that you will need 21(they say over 20 to go up in rank) declared residents within 150m of the town hall now to go up to a lvl 2 city? We are going to have one really cramped city.... we are not on a perfectly flat chunk of land and have been planning things by the old numbers… why do they change big things like this after it goes live… arrg

It seems so. The city management terminal says 15, but TH seemed to say pretty definitely that it's been changed to 20. I'm not happy about it either.
Thunderheart,
First please extend a great big thankyou to all of the employees on behalf of this small consumer. Even though I don't agree on some of the requirements in the game you all are doing a great job offering a game such as this.......
ok onto the citizenship of 10.........my city has 10 already my concern is for the cities that will lack the requirements. Since it is an additional patch being implimented will you all honor the fact that the smaller outposts worked diligently to make the initial cap and made a city successfully? What I am hoping for other players is that with the patch if their city is not large enough to exist will you allow them the additional time to fullfil that requirement as I read if your city becomes demoted.......if I am not mistaken I read that the mayor will receive an email and then have until the next election to fulfill that requirement....to me that would be fair to all the smaller outposts.
Could we maybe bump the first level to 10 and leave the rest where they are? (10, 15, 30 and so on)
