Thread: Weekly Roundtable Discussion (Week Ending 6-7-04)
The Dev's changed the format of these forums and gave us this "Weekly Roundtable" Discussion Thread. If it's too hard to respond to the issues raised here (althoughfor the most part... the issues are mostly on the same core topics)and you would rather have yet another new thread w/ ONE single issue each week that will more than likely get us a "canned" response.... then you need to either remove or rename THIS thread... perhaps the Biotch and Whine w/ NO Cheese thread. All we want is a response to our concerns and massive complaints. If this thread is to become nothing more than a place for us to RANT... without a response from you... then this thread is useless:X
I think it's a great idea, but I think in order to prevent heavy-handed admins from deleting posts that aren't "on topic", you should, nay, need to start another thread called "Possible Bugs and Issues", and sticky it.
There needs to be some way for players to communiate bugs/issues to the devs besides the /bug report command which is one sided. Further, the devs should have a continual flame lit under their collective a$$es, space expansion coming or no, as a reminder of what is still broken in this game.
If you think the current system of "bug reporting"is enough, I will gently remind you of the friday forum of not so long ago in which skill tapes were explained to us in wonderful detail. Yes, btw,I will let you live that down - when it's fixed.
The forums were "streamlined" to foster better communication (read: the open forum was closed and people were told to take bugs, etc. to their respective server boards)...communication has not improved, and some would say, it's only gotten worse. If you're going to limit the scope of the roundtable discussion to just one topic, you need to leave open another area for reporting known issues.
Of course, that's just my opinion. Personally, I appreciate it in my business when customers let me know what isn't working as intended.
TH - I am sure you have read the DWB feedback. Are there any plans to change the DWB? If so, when?
Lastly, please understand and convey this to the devs that the DWB is un-fun. There is no fun to be had there, so people will not go. I am sure you can read the stats on the numbers of folks that go in.
I play this game for fun. If there is something that is un-fun, I won't do it. The DWB and post-nerf Corvette are both in this ballpark.
Thanks.
When we lost our SWG Discussion Forum (which I still object to, btw), we were told this thread would improve communicaction. It hasn't. In the Discussion forum, we were able to start threads on topics to which we wanted feedback. Instead, you threw all of us into a single thread (this one) were none of our topics are getting addressed.
A topic of the week will not do the trick. If you look back at the previous week's "discussion" threads, you'll see hundreds of topics which have yet to be addressed. If we spread these hundreds of topics out to one a week, they'll still never get addressed.
Give us back our SWG Discussion Forum, so we can start topics we want discussed. Obviously asking questions or lodging complaints in this huge thread isn't doing the trick, but at least in the Discussion forum we previously had, we could start a topic with a clear subject line addressing the issue we wanted to bring up.
But shoving all of us into a single thread is not working. Is it any wonder we're frustrated?
So Thunderheartis this week's topic just that a round table should stick around? Or is there a topic we should discuss further here this week rather than the suggestions posted so far?
I do think a poll system for topics in following weeks is a good suggestion as to how the dev team can find the more immediate pain points of the community. Loyal SWG player here since day 2, but BH is breaking my heart. ![]()
Just an FYI Kurt, but the problem that you gave that answer to has been happening for months now off and on on Tarquinas at any rate, and most notably on two planets: Rori and Talus. And usually when it happens the conditions are the exact opposite from what you described....normally there's very few people on the planet as a whole and you'll run or ride, either one, for 10-15 minutes at a time and the only times you'll see anything spawn at all is when you get near either a city or a POI. Out in the wilderness though in the middle of nowhere, nothing. I've noticed it several times because over the past few months both Rori and Talus have for whatever reason been the planets where the best medic-needs meat has been, and yet it's been a pain to try and get any because of this problem. In particular on Rori the last big higher quality avian spawn there, I bugged this several times, but that's been several weeks back now.

Thunderheart, if you are able to have a back and forth convo with us in a thread, then yes that would be a great idea. I know in last weeks thread many of us wanted more clarification on what you meant by the number of players effecting the numbers of lair spawns. We never heard back from you at all after that.
Well, when I posted that information, that is how the system works. Since then, I've done some follow up discussions and I'm concerned that something else is happening and we've been looking into it.
