Here's my view on this thread. I'm an Imperial in Naritus and I do like the changes I guess except that it's beggining tomove away from the Star Wars theme. Ya it's cool to only have 1 ATST but for them to be destroyed that quick by a commando is ridiculous. There are rebels all over this forum saying that we don't have faction pets as good as ATST but **edit** we have to spend 9k + FP just for one. I never had an ATST coz for one I'm non-human and it cost 14k for me and for another I get close to 14k but I end up spending it on troopers ![]()
No matter how realistic a flame thrower can suck air out of an atst thus killing the pilot and killing the atst - IT DIDN'T HAPPEN IN THE MOVIE! Give the rebels their rocket launcher - make it a faction weapon where they have to buy it w/ FP. I'm not a Star Wars fanatic so some of this may not make sense as I only go by what i remember
but this is why I play the game - coz I want to get into it by using the game as a resource. I hate reading
but when you start putting things that are not related to the story line then you should rename the game coz it's no longer falling into the Star Wars theme.
All I know is the rebels outnumber the imperials and that is why imperials rely on their technology.
My opinion nerf all you want as long as it stays with the Star Wars theme. I mean if I start seeing Master Musicians taking out Master BH coz Master Musicians start complaining they can't fight - this is where it's heading. Every skill has a weakness and a strength that is what makes it balanced. So don't nerf things coz people complain and make it non-Star Wars

I thought I remembered seeing a post on here from some of the Dev's that they had to figure out a way to get more peeps to go Imperial...this ought to do it........................
Reb's keep on crying about AT's and the disadvantages...since the first Nerf you never see them in PvP, thats really trying to make them useful for "fighting in the war."
Hope they give as AT-ATs too, that way the musicians have something to kill.................
*sigh*, On my server (and I think on most) us Imps are outnumbered by rebs roughly 3 to 1. It's supposed to be a Galactic Civil War, not a complete rout. This further weakens the sorely outnumbered imperials.
If you are going to do this, then at least implement a way in which the faction pets wounds can be healed, and make them like jedi deaths, 3 strikes and yer out, instead of just one.
All i have to say is don't waste you fp on at-st. They will be pointless...If one person can take it out then what is the point in it...Rather get turrets and place them around your city. You all forget the Dev's are rebel. Yet i must say they have added a lot of nice things to the game like cities.
Thinking about how the Dev's keep saying they want the Star Wars universe reflected so well in this game, I wonder how Empire Strikes Back would have happened (which is very soon in the SWG timeframe) according to their logic. Here is what I envision:
Imperial ATATs and ATSTs begin their attack on the Hoth Rebel base...
Imperial Commander of the first ATAT "Holy crap, there are a lot of Rebels! Geez,I mean A LOT of rebels!We are way outgunned here!!! Watch out, a commando!!!!" The first ATAT tries to carry on, and is turned to scrap metal after a single commando attack.
All the other ATAT and ATST's are routed, but being slow, are burned down by the same commando, who is cackling and laughing with glee. Its a huge pile of slag, Luke skywalker and the other pilots show up, nothing to do, turn back and land at the base. The rebels give the commando a space suit, he flies into space and burns the fleet of Star Destroyers, and flies over and burns the Emporer. He flies all over and turns the entire Imperial fleet to molten gunk. Han, Luke and the Princess enjoy a latte in the meantime. Uhm, thats the end of the Star Wars series. Empire Strikes back ends 20 minutes into the film, no need for yoda or anything else. Oh wait, to add 5 minutes, the commando flies over and burns Yoda. Yoda kills the commander but still dies, the commando gets back up, spits on Yoda and cheers for himself "I am so uber l33t, I pwned you yoda!"![]()
OK al little off subject for the rebels crying that they have no faction pets that matched atst DUH your rebels

fore imperials make it so we are powerful have the best equipment and are easiest way to join
for rebels make there advantage in having traps to slow down the atst not with brute force
have them have hidden basses and you shouldnt be able to just take a shuttle to the nearest rebel bass or imperial bass avoiding the defence out side LOL thats a joke how it works now

I think your AT-ST change is BS. Serious BS. You think with me having the top rankin the imperial army(ie. around 40k total in faction points) that i shouldnt be allowed to do as i please with the imperial armys equipment? Ithink having 3 AT-ST's is minimal, with top rank you should be controlling AT-AT"s and waging war....but you at SOE are too lazy to put AT-AT's in the game, for whatever excuse there is , itsdoesnt matter. But thats a whole seperate argument. You obviously havent done much homework on Star Wars. When Luke and Han and anyone important needed a quick get away, didnt they just take whatever ship they wanted without any recourse? Same with Tie fighters...High ranking and important peopleused equipment in the moviesas they pleased because they earned the right to via rank or faction. The Battle for Theed on naboo in episode one... didnt the tanks/droids attack Fambaa's who were protecting the Gungans? I know its far fetched but it still happen. Didnt AT-ST's attack Ewoks? You point of AT's shouldnt be used in PVE is NOT valid if you follow those 2 examples. Your completely wrong. I can think of several other examples where vehicles, droids or machinery were used in a PVE attack or defense on several occasions during those 5 (soon 6) episodes. You at SOE try to sugar coat it to sway for the crys of the rebels. So then why does SOE complain that rebels out number imperials 10/1 and imperials are losing the war?(exceptions on different servers due to preference) but my point remains intact.

Sugar-coat it however you like, but when it gets down to brass tacks, you're nothing more than two-bit terrorists. The argument of what's "right" and what's "wrong" doesn't come in to play at all. Don't like terrorist? OK, OK... call yourselves "Freedom Fighters", if you want, like the Al Qaeda.
Bottom line: No one made any of you choose to be a Rebel. AT-ST's were in the game from day one, so that kinds of kills the complaint of "Well, how were we supposed to know [ insert meaningless crap ]."
The Galactic Empireis a Dictatorship. Last I checked, "fair" and "even" to the imperial armydidn't mean squat. Don't purposely choose to be the underdog and then whine that it's not fair because you don't have the same perks available as an established government's military force.

Now with that said, i know the complaints with AT"s is far too late... and the patch is among us. This being an MMO there should be rules that obtain to the game that do not obtain to the movies. I do not agree with any of the AT-ST changes whatsoever. Especially the one about having to have CH to use 3 AT-ST's. Since when did the movies require a creature handler to use a machine of war? I can agree with the fact that we should be only allowed to use 1 at a time in PVE and PVP (but maintain 3 in the datapad in case one dies), but i do not agree with not being able to use them in PVE whatsoever. And my points are stated above as why i think SOE is wrong in the argument. The only reason this argument came up was due to Krayt dragons mainly and farming uber loot. The rebels complained at first in PVP about AT-ST's when the game first came out, but since the commando upgrades and as time went on i noticed a lot of rebel dabblers in CH using pets against AT-ST's to "tank" while they pulled out the flamethrower and sending Overt Imperial_01's AT-ST to a hasty death.Or the fact that imperials could not control their AT-ST while incapped and being griefed ina sense while the overt and covert (who has the Tef Flag on the AT) destroys it and/or sends it packing with so many wounds it wasnt much use. In the end it turned out to be rare to see an AT-ST used in PVP due to these changes.In the end it turned out to be rare to see an AT-ST used in PVP due to these changes.So the main complaint , when the smoke cleared, was rooted from the jealousy of farming uber loots solo.
In contrast, i believe rebels should have had more equipment to fight like we had to counteract their crys for faction perks. I believe they should have had an uber pet of doom much like the AT-ST to use in PVE and PVP much like we had, without them having to waste good points to dabble in CH profession. Tanks or something comes to mind but i never was much for rebels in the movies or in this game so i wouldnt know much on that argument. As i stated , i believe we as imperials should have only been allowed to use 1 AT at a time in PVE and PVP. Three was overkill and there wasnt anything in the gamewe as imperialscouldnt kill. The biggest and most feared enemy was a band of rebels with several commandos and a few pets lurking around the corner of an Overt Imperial who had them all 3 out at one time during a PVE fight, not a pile of bones_01 at the krayt canyon, where much of the whining derived from due to farming and loot. Rebels were shafted with faction perks in the first xpansion of this game so far. As state in Rasth's post above and on the Jedi boards, no one twisted any rebels arm to choose this path. And they should have been aware of the outcomes. Again this is a MMO and things change and sometimes stray away from what they really should be , but my main and only argument is that of SOE's decisions about AT-ST's and faction perks as a whole. And one thing comes to mind....Why did we pay for Beta 4 (which we are currently in really) and why didnt they forsee this problem with AT-ST's from the beginning? Why change now? Makes no sense.
I apologize about this post being so long, but i feel i have made some points in this post that i wanted to get off my chest for awhile now. This post was meant toshed lighton a few pointswhere SOE was wrong and from the feedback of other imperials and watching how the gameevolved to its current state pretaining to faction perks, SOE's judgmentsand points are invalid and offset. I just felt i would post what i thought about it.
But again im only one character and one paying customer. My points mean nothing to SOE. This i know from years of battling EQ nerfs and problems. There going to have it as they see fit. No matter who complains.SOE will give you everything you want in the game imaginable at the beginning and nerf it from there. They did it inEverquest, and they will continue to do it for the remainingduration of this game.

OK, my points ia that, I was rebel in the past and now i am Imperial.
I have at st and use it to do mission, i think it is the only thing they are good to do. Sometimes when doing mission we can get attacked by some rebel wo can kill AT ST in 30 sec. IT IS RIDICULOUS when we have to do imperial mission for 20 hours in a row to get one. I never use my at st to do PVP i will lost it in 15 sec amd have tp work again 20 hours tyo get another one. At st are almost already unless good only to do some mission, if you do that change then i think you just have to remove it from game. And me i will just quit the game like other player will do. Because there will nor have no pts to be imperial anymore when there is 10 rebel for 2 imp.
