the contradictions in increasing the game's star wars feel, and having jedi being a big part of the game, are enormous.

however, it is nice to know that there will be a full dev team devoted to publishes after JTL. mind telling us the # of current staff and the # of staff expected after JTL though? it's not that i don't trust you, it's just that i work in a software company too.

Actually they planned on doing this anyways after JTL came out. The fact they even pushed the combat rebalnce and GCW back even further shows how the development team got their priorities screwed up. They should've done the combat rebalance first, then GCW, then the 2 jedi publish.....

Instead they did it backasswards...

I'm not really content on what I've just read. Heck, for all I care, they could delay JTL even more, put their full concentration on the main part of the game first. But oh well, that's just me..

Either way, it's all about money at the end, not how the customers feel.

With all due respect, why release a expansion pack before fixing problems already existing within the game?

I would start with "With all due respect", but you used it =P, soin short and with respect, this isn't "just an expansion". This is Space. Space is something that everyone wanted at launch and Space is needed to create the Star Wars experience.

The other side of that is that JTL has been in production since January. We can't delaysix and half months of work for something that really makes Star Wars what it is.

And to that I say, "With all due respect" TH, that it sounds to me like JTL and space is part of that core package we should have been purchasing off the shelf with the rest of the game. From my point of view it feels like JTL is finally bringing SWG full circle, and we're not REALLY seeing the full game until it's integrated. Once JTL is in, THEN we're going back and fixing the rest of the core problems with the game. It seems very backwards to me, and I know it wouldn't ever happen, but it makes me feel like JTL should be a FREE add-on, not something we have to pay in addition to what was already purchased.

I understand the reality of the situation though, and it really is a new game - but look at the order things are getting "fixed" and added, and it feels like we'll be finally finishing "beta 4" once JTL hits, and then we get the full force of the dev team back to address all the issues. I'm sticking aroundof course, SWG is my baby too But do you understand my feelings on the matter...?

That's the least they should do.

Whatever man. I cant even express effectively the displeasure I get at seeing you guys put so much time and effort into the ill-fitting profession so many people hate. Just admit, its in becuase you Sony wanted to sell more boxes. That is ALL. How dare you sit there and use the lame excuse "the community clamored for it!". How about now? An incredible numbe rof people are clamoring for them to be DROPPED and for you guys to move on the the rest of the game.

Significant, nay, INCREDIBLE numbers of PAYING customers have been swimming in the filth and sewer of long-standing bugs, exploits, imbalances, poor support, simple textual mistakes, broken abilites, silly or downright dumb abilites, and WHOLE TREES worth of skills USELESS!

You owe us more. You dont owe the jedi wannabee's any more. Thay have already gotten more love than they deserve.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

You would think they would have done some polling of their customer base.

ok I put my 2 cents in but I am sorry this quote kinda burns me...

Your kidding right? Combat was a known issue almost after release and was announced around novemeber, decemeber. Jedi wasnt even an issue til months after release. Granted starwars wouyldnt be what it is without space combat as well, but saying you cant delay something for half a year when combat will be delayed now for far longer makes no sense. I would rather wait til december for space and get combat now than waiting 3 months for space and 4+ for combat.

You guys need to really start playing your game for more than 2 hrs a week, if you are and think com,bat in any means is fun and exciting, well I guess you must be a fanatic. Loot stinks, buffs take away most challlenges and no buffs just make it stupid. What is there to look forward to in combat atm?

Oh and yeah what happened to this seperate team for space stuff? Another lie? If it wasnt for the few of my friends left in game today I would close all my accounts already but I like their company, its mainly the only reason I play anymore, but I am closing all but 1 account, you guys milked me long enuf and its like a stock thats dropping all my investments and nothing to show for it. Maybe if I was a out of work player who didnt mind grinding I woulda been content to be a jedi and enjoy power for a few months, but I am not.

I've been watching this game for a long time, since it was first announced that Verant (mind you it was Verant, not SOE) was developing SWG for LucasArts. I never got into beta, and I never picked up the game post-beta due to the fact that I heard many negative opinions about it. At the time I was playing DAoC and hoping something was going to be able to get me to subscribe elsewhere. It never happened. None the less, I still got news and reports from the PA and continued to watch to see if SWG would grow.

I finally got to experience SWG when they started handing out the 14-day trials through FilePlanet. I'll be honest: SWG only hooked me for the trial period. That's it. Afterwards I played it for another week retail, and by that time I'd be willing to play EQ again rather than sit through another 3-4 hour buff session of mindnumbing torture. I saw so many flaws in SWG that it has made me wonder why I almost gave up CoH or EQ for this piece of junk.

One thing I have learned from years of MMOs is this: the only way to get the devs' attention is to vote with your wallets. Not only does it get the devs' attention, but it also gives the suits a cup of WTFU (acronym translation available upon request for those of you who can't figure it out).

By voting with your wallet, basically you're saying, "we're not putting up with this BS." In this case, BS is the current timetable for SWG updates (that update 9/10 timeline was one big joke, honestly). So prove the devs wrong that you're chasing that little carrot of theirs on a stick while forking over $12.95 per month. There's a beautiful option we like to call cancelling.

Now where did I put my flame-retardant suit, because I know a_random_fanboi_00 is going to come in and try to take me out sooner or later.

Wow... I'm at a loss for words

Im still going to hold out for space, but it better be worth the wait.

Very Disappointed.

The Combat Balance has truly become a myth. I really was hoping that I could play some new fixed combat professions in the near future.... /sigh

Man, I want to see JTL as much as anyone. But they really need to get their priorities straight. JTL should be delayed forever if that's how long it takes to get SWG fixed and back on track. The Combat and GCW systems of this game are too important to be pushed aside for any expansion no matter what it is. By pushing the expansion forward, all that tells us players is they could care less about us, and just want to line their pockets with more of our money. That business practice makes me sick.

They'll release the Jedi Trials, then everyone will be busy doing their little jedi things, so they'll be able to conitnue their slacky jobcalmly, that's what I see. What does people who doesn't want jedi get? I want to kill them. The only reason I'll make the trials will be to get bonus from the FS trees and do better in PvP-PvJ.

"Great Expectations, Major Schedule Changes and making SWG theFINEST MMORPG ever" It won't last long, WoW will be released and take first place, because it is not as much broken.

This is just outragious, fix the game already. We as a community are TIRED of your half-hazzard excuses and postponements. Everything you say is misdirecting and subversive to every paying customer of this game.

The Dev chat was a joke, the only honest and straightforward answer of the entire chat was that Haden likes Vodka.

Fix the bugs, revamp the proffesions (screw jedi), revamp the GCW, balance combat PERIOD. A majority of the player community will -not- wait over a year for fixes to our proffesions or the above mentioned items. If we want to play a multiplayer twitch fighter game we could simply go out and by a flightsimulator or something, JTL will get old fast.

Personnaly, after my time in SWG is done I will -not- play anymore SOE games... I have zero faith in the companies management, marketing strategies, customer service, and overal attitude.

I don't usually reply to threads, but I consider this a kind of problem, in my opinion (I also beleive that most people would agree with me on this) is that you should concentrate more on the GCW and the Combat Revamp before JTL, you need to get the ground game better before you throw the expansion, your just gonna make things worse... I have waited for the combat balance sinnce it was first announced, you have ignored most other professions and concentrated only on the jedi clases, most of the player base ain't jedi, why ignore them? ohhh ad another thing, thanks for the Combat medic "fix" it was a bit late though.... maybe it was 'cuz jedi where being killed just like everyone else..... hmmmmmm....
