When Luke went to Vader's body, he didn't say, "Cool, he dropped a lightsabre that does more damage than mine! I will roxxor u!" When Han and Luke stripped the armor from the stormtroopers, they didn't keep it. Killing things and taking their stuff is NOT Star Wars.


What is Star Wars? Han fine-tuning the Millennium Falcon, Anakin building his pod racer, finding a slicer who will make some illegal mods to your weapon, and going out to the ridge to tend to the moisture vaporators. In other words, items in Star Wars aren't looted -- they're either built (Luke built his lightsabre) or store-bought and then modified.


In summary: Looting is NOT Star Wars -- crafting *is*.

Skill enhancers 'tape' for clothes- this should be easy at they are already in the game, but make them work! I used to sell alot of the skill enhancers along with socketed clothing.


A badge that can be sewn into an article of clothing by a Master Tailor


New schematics for ALL crafters, but make sure it has at least 2 uses in case of failure

Oh..also..


Allow us to cut the heads off of creatures and have them stuffed and mounted for display. Maybe have the Bio-Engies be able to stuffem and an artisan mount them on a plaq. I would love to be able to collect one head of each creature I kill and disply them in my cabin or PA hall. As an added bonus, place the name of the hunter on the head when it is severed and when it is mounted, the final product will display the hunter who killed it. Loot is basically all about status and a way to spearate yourself from the crowd. Something like this would definatly give us the evidence to brag.


Hummm...what about groups? I dunno Ill leave that to your expertise

Crafting enhancers [ like krayt tissue ] that can be used by crafters to make items better than normal

Decorative items like paintings, trophies, "dear head on a wall" kind of stuff for housing that are unique [ cannot be gotten any other way ]

Wearables, like armor or clothing, that look different than anything that crafters can make, but provide no sockets or protection [ ie, useless, but looks cool, and is hard to get ]

1) I like the idea of a special quest schematic, whether it is only good for a few uses or not. It doesn't even have to be for uber items, it could just be for cool nick knacks that can be used to decorate houses or to make a special item of clothing (such as a holster or an eye-patch for example).


2) I'd like more items like the painting, just stuff that can be kept in your house as a trophy. There are already some of these, but I'd like to see more and maybe have them as final rewards instead of having to quit the mission to keep the item.


3) For uber-loot drops I'd like to see more things like krayt drops. These types of items are still dependent on crafters to use, so they wouldn't hose over the artisans.

Uber schematics.


Powerups for ham, or skills, or weapons, or armor for a 24hour period.


Things similar to Krayt tissues.


Skill tapes (if they are working). This is loot that will only help tailors out. If they work and are available - people will be flocking to have different sets of clothes for different situations - especially wookiees.


A special pet that has a limited time use (at least 4 hours worth - even if you get incapped).

Here is what you can do...


Create a creature that no ONE person in the entire game can defeat solo. In fact, create a creater that it would take 10, 20, 30 people to kill over a 1 hour period of constant fighting. Make this creater(s) very aggressive and give it the ability to damage or destroy armor or weapons on a player. Allow the creature the ability to poison players for long periods of time (1+ hour). The effects of this creatures poison could only be healed by a specialized (uber-dragon) doctor. You could allow doctors to specialize in certain ailments (like in real life). Make this creature also aggro very aggressively and make it intelligent enough so that it doesn't leave it's area (not pull-able; sp?).


Once this creature is dead, micromanage the loot. Do not let one person take all the loot and perhaps allowmultiple playersto take pieces of the animals hide or bone. Make those who have killed the creature more suseptable to aggro the creature in the future. Make the hide, bone, meat of the creature very special where it will allow higher level crafters to craft unique items from the material. Perhaps give grant crafters experience on crafting items from these particular creatures (example: You now have XX points of crafting uber dragon materials).


I hope this sparks more ideas...

My vote would be for skill enhancements or something along those lines..


Other would be rare/hard to find resources, etc.. someone mentioned krayt tissues, things like that would be nice to strive to get. So basically, items that we could give to someone else to make that uber armor/weapon or item to enhance my skills.

As a Master Armorsmith, I'd like to be able to quest for/buy new armor schematics. I would not want these to be any better than Advanced Composite, however. I would just like to offer different armor appearances to my customers.


Also, I would like to see Legendary (dropped) armor components and skill enhancements working. I have loads of these items. Some work...some are just taking up space.

I think you could drop better equipment than what is currently dropping. I've heard the crafter arguements and don't completely agree with them. Especially the arguement that crafters should be able to make everything in the game. This is extremely flawed because it takes one of the biggest reasons to explore out of the game.


Reasons to go hunting: Loot, Money, and Resources. Money can be gotten by missions around town. Resources must be hunted. Loot is worthless. So, once I got money, don't craft so need no resources, only thing left is loot.


It does not have to be uber, it could be on the same level as a crafted item, just different. There's plenty of ideas in this thread. It also does not have to be tied into crafters. Crafters can not be responsible for 100% of the useful items in game. Crafters should not ever be able to craft trophys.


I like looting left-handed weapons off of mobs. It's nice to find a few glob gernades off a corpse with raiding a base. Add a few more good weapons to gang mobs. The dungeon on Tatooine with all the NPC's in it. Put good weapons on them, both ones with uses and a few appropiate level rifles, pistols, and carbines.


Crafters are only a small part of this game. Please do not make everything decent go through them. I'm not asking for uber items. Just an alternative way of getting items. Going to a vendor for the best items in the game is more boring than camping for uber loot in EQ. Vendors are not challenging enough.

Mandilorian armor schematic- Make the resources very hard to find, so only the most dedicated Armor smiths would make it.

Schematic for a "milk factory". Either make it a direct harvestor or a factory where you put in meat/vegetable/whatever and get out milk. If its rare it will be extremeley valuable. It fixes the milk problem for chef/BE and if its a schematic then it will help at least one architect per.
