As long as you know this trick, you should be able to move anything you're allowed to move. (They should still fix the targeting syntax.)
This does indeed fix my problem moving objects up and forward. Just a refinement on this, however...I found that objects considered themselves named by the first word of their name, i.e. blue milk would be "blue" or painting of a krayt dragon is just "painting". A problem arises when you are trying to place objects like:
- A broken decryptor
- A camera
- A decorative shisha
- A photographic image
- A recorded image...
All of these objects consider themselves to be named "A". Even worse, as you try to move them around you'll find they are targeted in alphabetical order rather than by proximity. So you'll never get "A Recorded Image" to move withthis workaroundif you already have "A Decorative Shisha" placed in your house. Thus to place all these items, you're going to have to work backwards alphabetically.Feisen
Sorry that I quoted that entire thing, but I'm on a Mac right now, so I can only view in HTML, and I don't have the patience to read through it.
Plus the HTML (to my small knowledge) looks screwed up, so I'm not so sure about editing it for the part thats relevent.
To the point:
Have you tried
/move target up/down/forward/back XXX
while the item is selected?
(to work around the A Painting, A decrative Shista, ect. problem)

Yes, I did. Generally I target the object I want to move out of habit even when I am moving it by it's name. But I deliberately was aware of having the item targeted and attempting the commands (with and without naming the objects).
It's quite odd to target "a recorded image" in one room, issue the command a few times, nothing happens, and happen to walk into another room to find your "a decorative shisha" floating in mid air.
That's how I discovered and then tested the alphabetical vs proximity aspects of this problem.
Good question though, I should have mentioned my targeting. ![]()
Has anyone who has this problem attempted /move %TT forward 10 ?
I'm not sure if the %TT command works only for the spatial chat system, but it would be worth a try
