ok devs BAD move unless your going to add a AT-AT to the game then then get rid of the flame DOT


but my main problem is how your making CH the most powerful prof. no one is going to want to do anything but be ch now ch get mounts ch get pets ch get more npc's what the heck they get every thing


and it is NOT star warsy to have only one trooper out do youdevs even play the gave for fun dotn you know howstarwarsy to see 10 troupers in a group of maybe 20 it looks like star wars


but oneperperson that stinks

AND ANOTHER THING I HATE THE FACT THAT YOU DEVS SET IT UP SO MORE PEOPLE WOULD JOIN THE REBELS BY SAYING YOU HAVE TO BE REBEL TO BE A JEDI WHEN THAT IS NOT TRUE


AND BEING A JEDI IS THE MAIN REASON PEOPLE ARE JOINING THE REBELS

id just like to say that with this total nerf of the ATST. there will be even more CHs in the game. And i hate creatures in general. That is why i chose imps in the first place so i wouldnt have to be CH. Apparently all you guys want, is a world full of Creatures. YOU MIGHT AS WELL CHANGE THE GAME TO CREATURE WARS! Cause thats all this is going to do!

Why nerf theAT-ST itself? That thing should not be unbeatable but it should be able to wholesale slaughter the average rebel or 5. Leave it tough to hit.. Crap, it SHOULD be tough to inflict dammage to all but the UBER l33t professions you talk about investing SP's and time...



  • and thats what you would have IF they weren't made of paper. Now there are enough players who have mastered combat professions and have sufficent abilities that a good group could co-ordinate an effective attack against one.

I actually agree (write this day down in your calandar)with the whole not to be used for PVE. These are for wars not for hunting trips or profit.



  • Scroll back and read my previous post regarding our status as affiliates of our factions and not actually being "regular army". Therefore we are granted free use of rescources at our disposal.

I think a simple not for PVE would have been appropriate. Maybe with the only one AT-ST out at a time but to drop it's armor?? that's plain stupid. The no poison or disease was a no brainer. I've never seen a machine get sick.

  • The reason I got mine was for PVP. I personally planned on spending the majority of my time in PVP. After finding out first-hand just how easily a single commando can toast an AT-ST, I was left with the only option PVE be it faction missions or otherwise. So for me and many others who planned on extensive PVP action they are in fact "already worthless". They are more of a liability in PVP than they are help.

  • second point - For some time after commandos became useful AT-STs could not "swim" hence they could not get wet. which meant certain death. And that river you refered to would not help the AT.

  • Third point - I would be tickled to death if they would allow this high-tech world a few FIRE EXTINGUISHERS. or have the proper materials not yet spawned? Or how about rain? fires are not affected by water falling from the sky either. If rain would put out a fire on an AT-ST I would be happy to wait till the conditions were right (raining) and then comence my attack but we all know were tactics rate on SOE list of important things.

Ok no more krayt or holo farming with the at-st ok thats fine just have to master ch which is easy and go up commando to get flamethrower and krayts will be easy enough so farming still exists.the only thing that changes is for people who have earned faction points to buy themselves at-st now have a huge piece of in there data pad that IS WITHOUT A DOUBT GONNA GET SO OWNED IN A PVP BATTLE..so in fact u did not stop farming of anything u wasted peoples time that they spent to get these things .


And you could care less about the GCW because its a joke one KD away from death at all times i have 3 at-st i farm with them take them out of the game if u want but make us all have 7-8k hams so we can actually have decent battles and fight npc that with are now low hams can get a few shot killed by .make it more about the player and less about pets if thats what u want but give us some ham at least ..now ch is gonna so be relied on to do anything....


And off the subject a bit i read ch post about how there tired of dabblers pleas shut up are put the flamethrower away cause your class requires you to dable to have a weopon..as some other people have to dabble to have a tank this ties in with my make us have a larger ham statement then we could tank for ourselves


Farming will still be here and should be .the animals are put here to be killed right?


AT-ST are gonna be a huge time sink if people still use them ..use one it gets killed faction to get another use it and it gets killed and so on

A suggestion...


1) AT-STs unrepairable? How about letting Droid Engineers repair them using resources and spare parts, will take ALOT of resources


2) AT-STs unbuildable? How about when an Imperial "buys" the AT-ST, he's actually "ordering" an AT-ST to be constructed, and then an ImperialMaster Droid Engineer takes the mission to build the AT-ST deed, gets the schematic from the recruiter, and get paid by the recruiter upon completion. Maybe a "timed" mission and only has 24 hours to build it otherwise a bounty gets placed and he loses the mission and becomes BH bait.


3) Parts would have to be used from multiple crafting professions (armor = armorsmith, weapons = weaponsmith, interior = tailor...see where I'm going with this?). Where is the crafting interdepency? Why can Droid Engineers build armor modules? Why do probots come with weapons built in? We are not armorsmiths or weapon engineers!

What I think a lot of rebels don't appreciate is a sizable chunk of Imperial-aligned players, do it for the PvE abilities of the AT-ST. The fact they open themselves up to PvP combat while doing so is a risk they take out of necessity, rather than choice. In fact, the only reason the empire hasn't completely folded as a faction is the fact the majority of PvE players choose it over the rebellion.


Since the AT-ST is now going to be of extremely limited PvE use, these players will remain covert or go neutral. Which means even fewer imperial overts to fight. Which is going to make finding targets a heck of a lot harder for any rebels.


This isn't saying it's appropriate for the AT-ST to be used for Krayt dragon massacres, but it is saying the empire is going to need some serious otherperks if PvP isn't gonnaslowly diewhen this change goes through.

The more I think about it, the stranger it seems to me to use the CH as an excuse to cut down faction pets. This is so mixed up...

Please consider the faction troopers as a rank thing, and don't think initial ideas are so bad, that they must be removed entirely.

The CH get ADDITIONAL pets, as it is. So we know the reasoning behind this move, hardly makes sense.. Cutting down the action by removing strategic layers, is not the way to go.

One pet is not providing a lot of choices, and it certainly do not compute in relation to the commander role.

The CH is not the core of SWG, and never ever should be. When you join a faction you MUST have INTERESTING choices, and REWARDS associated with it. Rank should matter, and soldiers it what we associate with Star WARS. Not PET WARS. This is a game about GALACTIC WAR with TROOPS and WAR MACHINES. See?

You, the developers are drifting away from the central themes, by accident or diversion, forgetting about what makes the name of this game, in an effort to please a certain part of the player population. Everything will be aligned, just stick to the primary themes, and all will be ok... Don't let this slip away before it's even getting started for real.

As for the AT-ST, it's great that it's not used for camping uber loot. I can agree with that. But don't destroy the whole thing in the process. When you remove the chimney, do you have to demolish the house in the process? Have you considered to take measures to avoid camping, for example? You don't have to remove PLAYER OPTIONS, in order to remedy loot availability issues. You need to go into the availability schemes, and avoid CAMPING. Camping is the most ugly part of any MMORPG, you the developers CAN avoid this, by assuring that highly demanded loot, is gained in different ways. One idea is to let players have it, by performing personal missions.


As an Overt Imperial, I am in grave danger all the time, this is WRONG. We need more SECURITY, more TROOPS, and more OPTIONS. Weaker pets, nerfed pets, fewer pets looks to be the answer... Thanks for nothing. :-)

What we truly don't need: Ultra costly equipment nobody uses, bad armor nobody uses, and developers afraid to stick to the themes, because they can't see the big picture. I agree the AT-ST should cost blood, it's standard approach, and logical. Cost in itself is a nerf, though. How many layers do you need in the end?
