Fluidscrrcom, out of all the posts I don't know why you have issues withmy post, and I haven't seen you post any ideas of your own (this thread is specifically about how much they should charge, not wether you want passes or not), only flame mine. But since you insist on pursuing it I will defend my idea.

-Most people possess more than 500 faction at any given time if they are involved in their respective factions.

-200 faction points would be the cheapest faction perk you could buy.

-Most people do not buy faction anyway.

-You should by inssurance, faction or otherwise, when you are going into a situation where you may die.

-People without 500 faction points should seriously consider staying out of PvP since the multiple deaths they may experience will eat through 500 faction points rather quickly.

-inssurance is merely a precaution and by its nature is done without knowing what will occur in the near future.

-we are not discussing a quick way to prevent decay we are discussing planning ahead and inssureing before trouble erupts.

And Fluidscrrcom, I have heard of worse case scenario, and what you have described is not it. Worst case is they're is no way to buy faction or inssurance, doing so if a battle erupted would get you killed as you wasted precious time buying it, so you suck it up and deal with the 1% decay that IS the price of worst case scenario. What you described is the same thing as an covert running to a faction recruiter to go overt so he can participate, only to be wasted while conversing, would you seriously buy insurance in the heat of a battle? Most covert PvP's know its a risky move.

Real cheap. You take FP loss anyways when you get a DB in factional combat, so stacking this on top of that makes it so you're always losing something on death if you choose to PvP. You just get to choose between faction point (from DB) + decay, or increased faction point (regardless of if you actually die). I don't know anybody who consistently makes a FP profit off of PvP, so it's not even like good players will make up their day pass.

People want to PvP -- but we don't want to lose stuff that we have to make up with extra work. Faction points based on rank is just perfect. It's a little so it stings, but neither onerous nor difficult to replace.

So I guess my vote is absolutely no more than 50 points.

After Tuesday/Wednesday? LOL I made very sure that it means NO 1% decay when you buy this insurance "day pass" and yes, it is for PvP deaths.

Is there a clear definition of "PvP death" yet? Do these count?

Third incap in PvP combat?

Third incap in PvP combat due to DOT after end?

DB by faction NPC after PvP incap?

DB by non-faction NPC after PvP incap?

Third incap by faction NPC after PvP incaps, but not recovered fromended PvP combat.

Third incap by non-faction NPC after PvP incaps, but not recovered fromended PvP combat.

Third incap or DBby NPC, but not recovered fromended PvP combat with no incaps.

The first of those certainly should count as well as a direct DB, I really don't think the last one should. The ones in the middle I am not sure of, but would like to know the dev's decision.

As a Master Smuggler who is a Colonel for the Rebellion I can say that I think a FP cost of 100 is just right (hey...it doens't hurt that it could boost my FP sales). Speaking of FP sales...is the limit of 500fp as a cap for how much you can buy from a recruiter (its really 300fp) going to change? For those of us who deal in large FP sales....sitting at a recruiter for 3 hours is torture.

"All you have to do is declare (since you are standing in front of the recruiter anyway) and declare and then buy the Factional Insurance. Ultimately, the price has to be a low, flat fee for both."

Does this imply that all those who have a problem with GTEF are getting a "win" here? Meaning that in order to get this insurance you would have to be overt? There are a number of people who like to take advantage (call it tactics) of using GTEF for surprise attacks. This would certianly put an interesting spin on this. When you say it would last a day, by who's clock? The server or the clients?

If it must be in the game, then I would say to have a cost for covert and a lower cost for overt. How do you prevent a work-around by the player? Make it so that if they buy this as an overt and they decide to switch back to covert, the timer ends and they must but it again.

But like the many others, I don't like this idea. If I had it my way the decay for insured items would be 0% and 5-7.5% for uninsured items.

For roughly 50-100 Faction Points, players get no armor decay and 1 time pay for insurance for 24 hours? No decay and one time insurance for PvP is tens and hundreds of thousands of credits cheaper.

In 2-3 hours of hard PvP, a player can spend 20-50K credits in insurance andlose 10-50% of their armors integrity. No insurance at all means this stays in the game...I certainly wouldnt like that.

What happened to we are removing decay on insured items and PVP will no longer uninsure your items.. dammit I am sick to death of this crap!

The entire 'decay' system is a joke. There was nothing wrong with the original system of insure/clone/or corpse recovery that we had in beta and release (nothing that a patch or two of tweeking couldn't have fixed). Instead of making a few backpacks and maybe an equiped weapon no-drop, you guys came up with this mess.

It doesn't help the crafters. I've not worn nor purchased a single piece of armor or clothing since decay went live. There is just no excuse to see good equipment simply ruined in a matter of a few days. Repairs are a joke (do the devs even have a CLUE how screwed up repairs are?!?!?!?!)

You took a system that at worst needed some tuning and threw it out the window. Then replaced it with a totally crap system that everyone hates. Now you're spending months refining a turd with all these clever new twists?

Step away from the pipe, devs.

Just say no.

Seek rehab.

See. The thing people continue tof ail to realise about corpse runs...

You could possibly die near a covert faction scanner, inside a base or a mine field where multiple, camped deaths would occur. Corpse runs are not the answer...

TH, don't forget about crafters... making credits for them is easy/normal, however asking that they go find 100+ faction points a day is pain in the butt. Especially if they are rebel and subject to the crackdown, therefore they must get the insurance.

I really think credit's is the answer. You guys always complain of too much money in the system, i've never once heard, "wow, there's too many folks with too much faction", nor do i think we'll ever hear that.

Anyone home? 100 faction is about 10k in credits. Therefore, for no decay vs 1%, you are paying 9k! Seems like for that 1 Death each time. For those who arn't running around in Coronet overt, it would be cheaper just to buy new armor.

P.S. I don't PVP at all because of that 1% decay. That 1% decay that you call "needed" is what drives me away from PVP. Every TKA or Rifleman can kick anyone's butt, and I am not out lose my armor for nothing at all in return, other then the meaningless faction (I'm at 12 now, so I don't lose any. Any I build up is gone right away) and the abality to say I beat some noob.

Simple not worth it to me You remove the 1% decay, and I'll join PVP again.

The "PvE" part is forwhen a Factioned NPC nails you- - NOT general PvE.

Still a little confused here... does this mean that i could but one of these passes and go hunt NPCs or run missions? You say it's exclusive PvP, but they're still factioned NPCs
