TH, you have played this, tested since Beta 1, and now work for the game. I'm going to try very hard not to rant about this. Right now, we have 400k subscribers pay $15 a month which comes out to 6 MILLION dollars a month. Thats a 6 with6 zero's. Then lets factor in the 400k boxes of software were out of date when we opened the box at 49.95 right at ~20 million dollars (2 with 7 zeros) And the game has been up and running for a year which brings this income to (factoring in it takes 6 months to get to 400k 83 MILLION dollars. Now, naturally, I didn't figure in bandwidth and hardware and that jive and then development costs from three years and salaries. God knows you don't get paid that much... please tell me that SOE didn't spend that much to have us pay for a game that not only lacks a space component, but is quite broken in many respects. Now my addendum to that line is that its not so broken that most of us cannot enjoy it, its just that most of the vocal folks here on the boards want to see the ground game fixed for that 83mil we've shelled out, SE be damned. I can understand how Jedi nearly broke this game, what with the hologrinding and profession grinding that ensuied. It widely changes the market for resourses, weapons, spawns, armour, crafting stations, and throughs a monkey wrench into the encomeney as a whole. I accepct that this needs the development time. You knowwhat, I'm rambling on! This is my 2 creds: Spend the time on the Jedi Publish 10 and make it right so we don't have to come back to it in 10.1. Get all of the 10.X pubs out of the way. Then spend all your time on SPACE. Get it right and move on. Spend all you time on Combat, then Smugglers (because I like smugglers), then GCW, etc etc... don't spend your time (as devs) on little petty things until we get these major items up and running. I personally will be hanging around until SE is launched, and after that, we'll see the changes in how it is handeled and understand weather or not I need to drop any more moneys into this GL cash cow. I'll keep contributing to your finicial well-being, you make it happen... bash some heads or something. And please, while you are bashing heads, try to do it with as smile

I was here in Beta.
I was here on launch day.
I was here when holocrons were added.
I'm here today.
Does the game have problems? Sure. Is it better than it was Launch Day? Christmas? Last month? For me it is. I'm looking forward to JTL and the other patches. I'm disappointed in not seeing the GCW fixes in, but I'm still having fun with what is in the game now.
My only concern is that these big fixes plus the expansion are going to put them about the time WoW and EQ2 come out. I hope the servers don't dry up.

Jedi have completely killed PVP as it is on every server. Now you are going to push back more non-jedi content. Is this game supposed to be Jedi driven? If thats the case, put out an expansion so everyone can pay for a jedi, then we'll all run around with lightsabers. Please remember the majority of the player base, not just the jedi.
I guess smuggler revamp will get moved back AGAIN as well?

I just hope stuff that is in planing now doesn't get pushed back because of bugs and such in JTL.

I want a new little box in my "Station Launchpad" that says "Accounts canceled today!". I think it would be fun to just sit there and watch the numbers go up, up, and away.

I thought the outlined combate revamp was pretty ambitious to get done in the time they listed earlier. I will AGAIN say, better to take the time to do it right then give in to public pressure and do an ad hoc publish. One star me again, if you want, but you will really complain if they dropped JTL and do CB and botch them both.
I say I can wait. Even if Rangers don't get looked at tillnext year, I will still be here and still be a Ranger. I don't care what you people say, this is a d@mn fine game as it is now.

I just started SWG (but i beta'd it for a while so long ago) so i'll just post about what i see the players saying and the devs saying... It seems the players are fed up. They are tired of being fed the dissapearing carrot. They want action.. Not just words. And NOT just things that hardly anybody will use like the jedi stuff. 10% of the population have jedi and you are making it priority #1. An equal ammount dont want to see jedi AT ALL. That is a pretty big group of people unhappy with your desisions. You need to get moving on the important things such as majority rebalances before you do other crap like swoop races.
And the devs are saying what they apperently have been for ages: that they are working on it.
I personally will keep playing and having fun for now... I will probably buy JTL when it comes out because it looks like alot of fun. But i'd like nothing more than to see these major issues everyone is complaining about fixed before i personally have to experience them and get frustraited by them. I also an eager to really see what the dev's do in the future.. if they do what they say they are going to do, or continue the cycle.

Ya know, I just have to point out I find it very amusing that the people posting all these complaints and cancelling their accnts are none other than the people with 2000+ posts and community leader next to their name. These are the guys that, until this blunder, have stuck with SWG through sooo much. Maybe the devs should take a hint.....?

Tell the devs from me, ThunderHeart, they really messed up this time.
The GCW fixes and Combat Balance were the only things a lot of players were holding out for.
The game is FUBAR at the moment, and they know it. They just shat on their current playerbase and damaged their own reputation in the process.
Looks like the Marketing 'suits' and their mighty dollar have over-ruled common sense yet again. I guess we shouldn't have got our hopes up.
I'll play the PvE game until I get bored, then I'll find something else to do. No point re-hashing the points everyone else has already raised, you know this is wrong TH, no matter what you have to say to 'toe the SOE line' now. I'm glad I stayed on a monthly payment plan unlike many of the other poor sods posting here.
You also never at any point answered the posts (several) in this thread quoting:
"Publish 10 will be the Jedi Trials.This will be the new gateway to the Jedi profession that will by a mysterious path to unlocking Force sensitivity."
I agree with the other posters - why have a poll then ignore the result?
I don't want to be a Jedi, I wasn't that bothered about going into space, I was just looking for a fun game that actually worked to replace UO after 3 years of play.

The case is how can SOE put jedi trials infront of something that is a major issue, and the combat balance is a need and a priority, I dont understand why its on the bottom of the list, probably even lower then all the little gitty bugs that are on low end of list, becuase to SOE they arnt a big deal and apparently they have no time to do anything about it.
SOE let Blizzards developement be a lesson and an example, my friend is in beta and the blizzard team is the best programmers that are commited to the game and actually take in feedback right away fix bugs right away and do things right almost all the time.
SOE is more experienced but apparently has not learned from the past. They are even makin more mistakes.
