The star ratings for those few ranks is based on what people have so far and what is possible, as you can see its used sparcely and does not grant much more than title changing, there is a similar unranked title. Also yes, the star ranked "officer" ranks kick in faster than the regular ones.
The system will change when we are done with it, no specific date yet other than soon. And remember I do not work on the programming of the game, sorry, or I would be doing that.

I like these requirements more, but the original (page 1) titles more. But I do like the officer ensignia idea.

I'm looking forward to the weighting of one-stars. I just looked back at a bunch of my old posts and some psycho had gone back and one-starred a whole bunch of my ancient messages.
Also, one thought I had today was that if there is a title given for "One Star Bandits" who consistently one-star everything, many players, especially on Bloodfin, are going to work hard to achieve that title.

lol... hey GarVa, it might be wise to add a 6th FAQ question to your initial post. One that addresses the question "Why don't you work on the game first instead of the forums?" Seems as though a lot of people are asking that question....
I think you should stop whining. Garva is not someone on the Dev team, and is responsible for the forum system. So it would only be logical that Garva spends time on this. Not everyone at SOE is part of the programming team of SWG... there are other jobs to do too.... and I like the way Garva handles things at the moment. Keep it up.

Hate to rain on your parade, but if you check oh say, 1 page back I think it is, you'll see where I actually point that out to someone else. Point is, you misunderstood what I was saying. I know GarVa is Forums, separate from the devs on game... but a lot of people don't. I'm trying to get GarVa to address that on the initial post so that we can stop seeing those kinds of posts.

Kaessa,
Thanks for the correction yes 6/26 is the earliest as that is when the new forums and the game went live but as was also noted not many people were able to register for the game or the forums that day,you just have a lucky touch it would seem

The additional criteria look good, but in terms of forum coding I think some of them at least may be unreasonable since tracking all that information on every post and poster would exponentially increase the amount of information needed to be stored as well as updated with each new post or response. Additionally I don't like your choice of colors, especiallyhot pink for the highest rank colour? I definately wouldrather have some other colors for high ranks asI favor the cool greens and blues, but that is a personal preference obviously.

This should make forum posting more interesting. What's the ETA?

Proof that people who don't like you go back and "one-star" your posts in history: Check my history and look for a post titled "wierd texture blackening". It's a tech post, listed in the tech support board. There is no way that someonecould find it a "bad post" as far as ratings go. Yet, I've got a 1.9 average for every single one of my posts in that thread. It's really a shame...
