I think a lot of this stuff is great and will help catch up where this game should of been on day one

for the most part i'm happy with this publish...


defense stacking imo has killed pvp, i don't like the fact you have to have camps, but then again, like the guy above me, 60 seconds of sitting staring at my screen sucks...its bad enough staring at it for 10 minutes for a shuttle, which i always watch fly away as i'm running towards it...


the fire blanket idea is cool, so would be a stop/drop/roll command....do that for 15 seconds+, depending on flame strength, and it goes out...maybe a tumbling effect to go along with it so that you can't do specials for 30 seconds...somethign along those lines


mechanical things not being poisoned/diseased...about dang time SOE....lol....


what else...the vertical movement in houses...THANK YOU!!!! holy cow...have we needed this dang thing for a loooooooong time....


junk dealers is cool, so is Victor or who ever he is in Bestine.


the jedi hunting...much better...however...will the Jedi see the droid...will it just plop down infront of him and he just log out? or will it inform the BH by finding the target from a distance...it will be pretty lame if the jedi sees the droid, and just logs out as his jedi and in as his alt just so he doesn't get hunted...would make hunting them impossible


lighting is cool too...


so is the 0/0 turrets being removed...though if they didn't work before, how are you going to fix it now?


and can you fix grenades btw? that would be nice...fix commando profession...and the bh profession....why can a Master Fencer beata Master Bounty Hunter? or a Master Commando? the "hardest" professions, the "hybrid" ones are the weakest professions....somethign isn't right there...



and another thing, why does a Master Pistoleer and Master Carbineer get LESS accuracy than a Master Rifleman? granted, there is BH carbine and pistol, but that is a lot more skill points to blow...and its not even worth it...master scout...for what? how is that going to help in combat? a Master gunfighter/expert bh or a master carbineer/bh carbine IV (don't remember what its called...) should have MORE accuracy for their weapons than a master rifleman....they are dedicating themselves entirely to that weapon....give them some respect...


and smuggler...you give us pistol skills, but no pistol skill mods...what good is that? no skills for the entire left line of smuggler (yes, buy faction, reduced faction cost), but no skill mods, no other skills...and master smuggler? what about that..yes, some say you get a 5% bonus slicing...where does it say it? and why do slicers and master smugglers get the same slices most of the time..how about up the chances of a master smuggler getting ABOVE 30% or something...and give us pistol skil mods!!! accuracy and speed would be nice



and give commando's defenses...you want us to fight within in 15 meters, but we can get owned by any melee class...**edit** mates...

grenades...any reason why i can hit a fencer 3 times in a row, miss a rifleman 10 times in a row, and miss my weaponsmith 2 in a row...all while standing still, at ideal range (12 meters using proton grenades), and with 121 accuracy (master commando = 85 + skill mods)?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? they are so inconsitent its a joke....the acid rifle....a joke....every commando weapon is a joke expcept the flamethrower, which you nerfed!!!!!!!!!!!!


thanks for ruining one of the elite hybrid professions....


and bounty hunters...some defenses would be nice...ranged defense, melee defense, defense vs dizzy, stun, blind, kd, posture change....every elite profession get them, but the hybrid ones dont....(commando gets a little, but no where near the other elite professions) why spend all the skill points (waste...why the heck does a Master Bounty Hunter need trapping??? or harvesting??? or survival???)


i also think that dizzy should be reduced...why do i just lie on my back and watch someone kick my a$$??? yay, they dizzy kd me, game over if i'm not wearing super armor and super buffed, because they can keep stacking the dizzy and keep the kd's coming....come on..


and how about giving commando's and the other professions access to a stun weapon...stun grenades that actually hit, a stun rifle, something...


i'm done complaining for now...thats about it



i remember once a upon a time when ppl would pvp, you'd hit ppl if you had a profession mastered, and everyone would fight, the game was fun, and life was grand...then along came the stupid idea that someone could stack defenses and a cone of fire at point blank range would miss because of....yea.....go figure...good one there.... a master gunfighter misses 20 times in a row on a fencer/master rifleman.... a fencer beats a master bounty hunter...because the master bounty hunter can't hit him....if a fencer> master bounty hunter, then how in the he|| is a master bounty hunter going to take down a jedi? (i've done it with my master commando, but thast not the point) it was sad when a near jedi master was taken down by...a cm and war cry 2...like a jedi is just going to stand there cuz some one screamed at him...thank God for the warcry nerf

guys,if u want to balance better pvp ur main problem is not def modifiers stacking, but the role of combat medics.Now,a well-equilibrated fight ends as a CM arrives: 1 minutes and it is all over.They passes-by def modifiers,they are ranged, they are fast(hard to reach for a meeler),their poison/disease too strong and no healable for a common pvp template(with justa fewboxes in medic).I have never whined about anything,and this is the first time i do this, but ubfortunately i had because they are ruining pvp.We will all become CM (there is a pvp guild on bloodfin whose members are nearly all CM)if this goes on,also because if def mod cannot be stacked anymore....

I think they should change the names of CM's to bio-chem terrorists or quite simply put al'queada.. the true meaning of combat medics is to be able to heal in the line of fire not throw toxins at people.. thats the handiwork of cowards and why we are at war in the real world... Poor taste on the devs part to include this profession especially since it has been exploited since day one

when is the OVERPOWERED and UNBALANCED dizzy/kd combo being removed/revamped? this needs to be addressed quickly. its been going on for way to long.

...and when every Jedi who plays more than 20 minutes has to fend off two dozen unconsented PvP attacks, I will be very interested to see what happens. I don't particularly care for this whole system, but I know there are plenty of bounty hunters out there that are frothing at the mouth because they get a chance to hunt players. Whatever. Unconsented PvP doesn't work. Look at the difference in the subscription rates of UO and EQ at their all time highs. Look at the retention rates.


I'm sure there will be many here who will argue and flame this post, and they can have at it. There is a growing frustration in the Jedi community regarding this whole issue and I will be willing to bet you get your wish of making jedi super rare...subscribing jedi at any rate.







I'm not sure where you've been, but the devs have been saying for 3 1/2 years that playing a Jedi will be extremely difficult.


They have already made it much easier than they said they would.


- They removed permadeath


- They removed total skill loss, now there is a loss of one skill box.


Just playing a Jedi gives your consent to PVP.


It was always going to part of the deal.


Long before there was any Jedi in the game.


Besides, this is the only way to keep the Jedi population under control now.


Otherwise, every player would have a Master Jedi in 6 months.


Is this time period, Jedi are all but dead.


Be glad that the devs have given players a chance to play characters that are virtually extinct.

The only thing I wont like about this publish is the new experimentation...


My fun in the game is to run around for rares ressources....if the quality doesn't mean anything what's gonna be the fun for miner?

No answer yet on the defensive caps.



I have no problem with kd/dizzy from TKA or master headshot from Rifleman or Feign Death from Smuggler or Eyeshot from BH or Flame from Commando..... everyone has a signature shot or move.


But Combat Medic Poison is RIDICULOUS. There is zero defense against it and that is not right. We have def vs dizzy and def vs KD. Helmets for eyeshot and masterhead shot (unless the rifleman is using a jawa ion rifle).


There is ZERO defense against CM. I can buy a 350k composite armor suit. I can get musician and dancer mind buffs. Eat a muon gold. Drink some brandy and fishak. Be a pure combat template (ranged or melee) and have great defenses yet I cant do a thing from being poisoned from 64m out thru walls??? When was CM supposed to be the best PvP class?


With zero mind pool I cant do 1 special move. I spend 250 skill points into combat and no matter what I do within 10 secs I cant do a special?


Now you are taking away defensive stacking but doing nothing about the CM profession?I dont see why everyone complains about defensive stacking anyways. If you choose to be Architect/TKA and I choose to be TKA/Fencer shouldnt I be better than you in PvP since I used more points for combat?

This appears to be the best publish ever overall.


This publish makes two things very clear to me:


- The devs DO listen to what we say. The majority of the stuff listed are things players have wanted for ages.


- Development of anything major in a computer game takes a LONG, LONG time.And that's the way things are in the industry. I bet many of things have been worked on for MONTHS.


Doom III was announced about the same time this game was, if not earlier, and it's still not out. It might be more polished than this was when it came out, but it will be done, while this will never be until the plug is pulled.


The amount of work the devs have been able to pull off while the product was already on the customers' computers is astounding. I'm pretty new to MMOGs, so I don't know how the pace here compares to others, but compared to the only other one I've played, the speed of how fast features get added into this game is remarkable.


I'd be interested to see a list of every change to date made to the game since it came out. I'm sure it would be quite loooong.


There is nothing listed here I don't like, and it gets me excited about the game again.

Actually a Master CM misses a poison 1/2 times so there is defense but you can't raise it and you can't effect the outcome.

Anyways, I think we are getting off subject. Myself included. This isnt about the CM or kd/dizzy of TKA or any of that stuff.



In this publish for me its about warcry being changed and a defensive hard cap. Enough people complained and they are changing it. Fine. Only thing I ask is that I am told what the defensive cap will be so I can adjust accordingly. I dont want to have to grind my current profession if its going to put me over my defensive limit. That would be pointless and a waste of time.


Also, does anyone know when publish 7 is tentatively scheduled for release?
