Thread: Desired Rewards
More drops that crafters can use to make items.
I have yet to see a single item that can be used for crafting. I know they exist, but I've never seen one. That tells me that there are not enough of them.
I also really like the idea of having something special to put up in your home and a badge for others to see (like the Dead Eye). I think the main thing is to just gives something unique and special that shows the hard work you put in completing the quests (and better stuff for hard quests).
Advanced crafting schematics.
Totally new crafting schematics.
Here's one maybe most people haven't thought of (or maybe they have).
How about a reward for a quest chain that would actually be worth getting, yet wouldn't upset the balance of the game.
Special Shuttleports:
If you complete a quest chain, you get access to a special shuttleport at that location. A special transport at Jabbas pallace that he only lets his friends use. It would allow you to quickly jump to jabbas pallace, or back again from another starport.
This would be extremely useful on a place like Lok, or Endor since there aren't many shuttleports to start with.
NPCs:
How about you get an NPC/pet mercenaries after completing a particularly hard quest. Similar to faction pets. Once you complete it for the first time you can come back and pay for another one. Balancing this to make it worthwile (price/HAM damage) would be key.
I don't like the uber shematic thing !
.... ok it keeps crafters in the game but .... anyway it will leed to uber guns and stuff and everything else will be just ... normal -> not needed
and then , crafters will only make that items .... and thats it ...
Stuff to decorate your hose would be nice, its like a trophy hall then
.... and some clothes ... or even some guns and armor , but not so god as crafted can be ... just to decorade .. if some one wannt to wear it , it will be not as good as caftet ...etc.
just a little bit more of whats alredy there .... more random may be so ... it will be a supprise what the quest gives , and there will be no power questing .)
and make the reward the better item not the one that's to deliver .p
don't liek badges .... it'll be no fun do go throu 100 off quest badges that a chra has done , nobody will care , or look at it anymore ....
Titels ... hm don't need that but ....
just make the items do some thing !... if my char will stand there an look throu a binocular ( with is not broken
) it'll be just cool and funy , even it dose nothing ( only an animation
) ... but can be used to rp and so on
Seems like a lot of people want schematics and I would have to agree it would be a good choice. I would also state that the Schematics should be:
a: Time sensitive. Maybe make them require resources inthe current shift.
b: Skill Dependent. The higher level items should be crafted by higher level crafters.
c: Of limited uses: 1 to 5 items crafted per schematic at most.
d: Most should be Cosmetic: Hats, Clothes, Packs, Glasses, Gloves, Jackets, Furniture, Droid Casings, Unique Petsor maybe just Symbols, dyes or patterns that can be added to existing schematics.
I also like the idea of rare Resources in small lots.
Actual money, I find it kind of silly thatI kill almost 20 NPC people and they are all broke, especially theives. I mean if I were a combat person then the way I make money is missions. But personally I don't want to have to keep running back and forth back and forth to the mission terminal to keep getting missions.
So if I get high enough in levelI think the higher NPCs (Humanoid only of course)should start dropping enough money to make a living off of. That way you can actually have fun going out to dungeons or POI's and be making money too. Right now if you go do the interesting things like the Theme Parks, dungeons etc it doesnt pay youfor your time.
As for items I think the schematic would be a good one. I mean you guys have all those empty boxes in the dungeons. You shouldput something in them. Perhaps both the item and the schematic. I would love to be able to buy a speaker from an architect if I want one. Perhaps make the schematic's factory only that only turn out like 10 - 50 of the item so there is turnover.
Badges from Noteworthy persons. I have done all of the missions from 3P0 and am now on Han's missions for the Theme Parks. I'm not really getting anything from it. It would be cool if I had a badge that said the NPC's name on it for those group of missions.
Movie clothing - I have gotten a flight jumpsuit from one of the missions, now that was kind of cool. I would really love that poncho from the Battle of Endor. Or snow trooper armor, or Chewie's bandolier. This doesn't even have to be wearable so that it won't cut into the Tailoring profession. Just fun outfits to put up around the house. I love having the Tuskan Raider outfit in my house or the AtSt Pilot Helmit.
Limited Edition Schematics!
Make them factory only schematics (no critical fails that way...).
Make them use specific materials from different planets.
Make them have several optional components (more loot?, multiple types of crafters?).
Make the power of the item and the number of items produced compatible with the effort to obtain the item (solo, small group, large group only… and beware farming.)
Make the finished items hard to repair (very, very high complexity).
I like the uber-schematic idea.
But how about this for an idea:
Blueprints.
Not simply a limited production run schematic. I'm talking actual additions to crafting tools. These could then be traded around the crafting community as schematics, or sold to crafters so that they could produce the various goods.
IE: Player does the great "Ruins of [insert fallen galactic power name here]" in which they scour a planet for evidence of signs of said fallen power. After locating all the various pieces of the puzzle, they are given a blueprint for an ancient form of armor/weapon/dwelling/whatever that the player can then offer to a crafter. The player and crafter could agree to an exchange (you gimme the blueprint, I give you a free product from the blueprint), and the crafter can then make schematics which can be traded between similar crafters (IE: if it's a building blueprint, the crafter can give the schematics to other architects).
This would only really work for the REALLY hard quests, though. However, I'd advise that, if completed in a group, EVERYONE gets a copy of the blueprint, not just whoever happened to take the quest in the first place.
Various rewards for different professions -
New schematics - furniture that we can currently see in other places but can't make, weapon schematics that are slight modifications on current schematics etc
New dances/tunes/instruments - might be difficult to implement but quests that result in new dances or new tunes would bring interest to the cantinas.
High Tech Medical component schematics - can be used in place of advanced components.
Rare pets
Rare DNA
Reasonable quantites of high quality resources - the current resources that appear as loot are of such low quantity to be useless.
Factory crates of high quality sub-components - i.e a crate of 20 maximum quality Liquid Suspension
The rewards should compliment the professions already out there and build on them. The current system means that a master medic is the same as any other master medic, but if one were to complete a quest that resulted in a "High tech liquid suspension" schematic, it would set them apart from the cookie cutter master medics. These new schematics should be rare enough that few people on servers have them. If this is difficult to implement then schematics could be replaced as rewards with factory crates of extremely high quality components.
The results of quests should vary, according to the profession(s) of the person doing them, but also from profession to profession, so if 2 musicians do the same quest, they are not necessarily given the same reward.
The schematic/dance/tune/instrument rewards should be rare enough that few people on a server will have them at any one time (difficult to implement that fairly tho).
Rare and Semi-Unique collectables!
There are many of us "treasure hunters" out there that are always looking for collectables. Especially if there are items that are only availiable for a certian period of time.
decorations - like statues (some human sized), vases, paintings. Things an archeolgist might find that you can use to decorate your house.
schematics - one use schematics, dont have to create anything uber, just unique, such as "throne" chair an arch can make. Or weapon/arms schems that arent better statwise than the top normal crafted item, but look different.
rare components - that are used in current schematics as optional parts
