joydiv66, it's not "just a game", is a service I'm paying for, so I have the right to demand quality in that service, just as I'd do with other services. Imagine your internet connection, if the bandwith were half of what it should be, and the company wanted you to wait one year to get the quality you're paying for, wouldn't you be angry? This is the same.

For TH and the Devs, I just can say:

You're right...but I would just quit my ISP and move on. I understand the frustration...but look at some of these posts...ROFL!

And yeah, the community doesn't just want you to do a better job, we expect it. The fact is you focused on Jedi first for 1 reason. It gives people something to do to take their minds off the fact the game is struggling. Only 1 problem there Sherlock, if you were to poll the community most people would rather have a good functioning game then a f ucking Jedi. You guys really are clueless. Keep delaying, I'm sure a few folks will stick with you until you release a broken expansion.


At the core of the discussions are our team goals. Funny that you list your final goal to make a much more SW experience. Question, what's the name of the game Thunderheart? star WARS. We don't even have a goddamn GCW and you're telling me that you want to make a more intense star wars experience? LOL How bout making it Star WARS first off. The graphics may look like Star Wars but that's where it begins and ends. And does anyone really believe, other than yourselves, that your design and implementation process is anything but flawed? I doubt it. Your team hasn't proven in 1 instance that you can plan, test, and implement a well thought out and bug free patch. Not 1 time. If you want to make this the greatest MMO ever you better get off the bench and get in the game pal. This game isn't gonna make 2 years at the speed you all are going.


Rather than continue to split the team’s forces and try to accomplish too many goals, we’re going to do a few things and do them right. Once the Jump To Lightspeed is complete, the team as a whole will be re-grouped. Then the combined team will accomplish the Combat Balance, the GCW and all the other improvements to the game.


Who didn't see this delay coming? And how many people did you hire in to design your JTL? I hear you hired quite a few folks in to help you with it. Funny, you're team is split? So is your a$$ but you don't hear us complaining about it.

What’s Ahead


To offset this very big announcement that will affect all of you, I will be immediately working with the correspondents and the community to develop a list of pre-combat balance fixes to get combat into a more enjoyable state. This will encompass many items planned for the Combat Balance, and will happen in a steady stream between now and JTL. The Combat Medic and Bounty Hunter changes that are coming in Publish 9.1 are the first of these efforts.
Once again, you're clueless. You can't offset this one. Too many people that have played this game for a long time, myself included, won't look past this. I'm not paying you another dime.



Between now and JTL is where I come in. Right out of the gate, I’ll be working with the community to develop plans for the Combat Balance and post them on the site; we’ll do a few features and I will continue to post updates. Later we will do the same for the GCW, the Squad Leader Revamp and all of the community issues on the table. In this, we can marry community expectations and development goals in a way that has never been done before with online games.

Our next major update, Publish 10 will bring us “The Jedi Trials”. Finishing the revamp of the Jedi profession is a big task. Being a Jedi is a big part of the Star Wars experience and it is a big game system. To become a Jedi, there needs to be a known path with mysterious quests, new NPC’s, new NPC behaviors, new places and all the little things that will make The Jedi Trials a publish to be excited about. To accomplish this, the team has expanded the scope of publish 10 so there is more design time and more testing time (hence the big changes).
Where you will allow everyone the ability to be Jedi to A. Destract them from the reality that you haven't fixed anything. B. Money....lemme say it slow for you all that are slow. M O N E Y and they love taking it from you. Like a bunch of crack dealers.

Not long after The Jedi Trials, we’ll be focused on the JTL Beta and integrating Space with the ground game. Meshing the live service with JTL is a big challenge since it means it will be the first time anyone has ever integrated a complete RPG and action Space game before.
What's thepoint of space combat with no war to fight in?

The Jump to Lightspeed is currently on track for a later October launch, which is a relatively short time away. Prior to that, we’ll be finishing up the Jedi Trials (Publish 10) and right after that, we will begin integrating the ground game with Space, start the JTL Beta Test and get on with making the game we all want to play. The good news is that the Jump to Lightspeed beta registration site is opening later this week

Ooh, are you sure you can get it done with your "team" divided as it is? Doubtful, and even ifyou do I'll pay bet you 500 dollars right now that the day JTL speed is released we have a repeat of when the game went live. MAJOR SYSTEMS ARE DOWN will be the cries. lol

You won't be getting my money anymore. And your last statement is the biggest slap in the face to all of us. If our feedback helped you keep focused on your priorities then we would have a smuggler revamp, a GCW and combat revamp long before we got a Jedi Revamp. This would've all been completed by now as well. Please SWG community, do not believe the lies they spew forth. Thunderheart is their disinformation minister. Goodbye.

Ah, I'd like to know how my post broke the TOS. I wasn't attacking anyone. Just giving my impression of the publish schedule since the game was launched. I'll post it again after the stratics chat. I think TH needs to see it, he's an old friend of mine, he'll get the point.

Great, great, great!!!


If I can add some critic to the actual process:


In my eyes - and I think in most other players' too - the SW-Feeling must be pushed more, than anything else. JtL will bring some nice things, making SWG starwarsy, but I think there are things which have to be done in the actual game!!!


For example the city revamps! The Cities are most static ... I could not sense any dynamic there. For RP, I am missing dark and small Corners in the streets or something like that. Another thing I talked about with other players: The City-Terrain ... it is too monotonic! Where are the different levels? Some bridges and everytime in almost every City the same houses which you can enter (Mostly Guild Halls with Junk Dealers and Trainers)! We thought, if it is possible to make some of the static houses enter-able, for example some skyscrapers in Coronet. That will give a lot more feeling to the Star Wars Universe at the SWG-Timeline, than so many Jedis ...

The other thing, we talked about: If it is possible, that players can hire a appartment in such a skyscraper.


I want to get back to the point with the city-terrain!

I do not know, how the cities in the states look like, but here in Germany, a city often has different levels, such as a historic section, and there are some ways where you have to get through a small passage between houses to get to a shop or something like that.

My starwarsy picture of Theed is like that! Not a static and "one-level" city, but with some smaller suburbs which lay on a different level, than the palace.


All in one ... I would say, there is a lot in the planets appearance, that makes them all the same - the cities!!!!

Well, I must say that this is a really bad move. Your priorities are screwed up, and you have not been listening to the customers who pay your salaries.


I am fed up with my professions having been "balanced" for almost a year (Master CH), and my other profession (Master Pistols) almost as useless.


I have not logged into this game in over 2 months, yet I kept paying in hopes that something would be done.


Obviously, I have 2 choices:


  1. Wait longer

  2. Quit

Well, I am choosing option #2. I cannot justify spending money on a broken game, that has no chance of being fixed for a very long time. I shudder to think of what JTL will be like if you cannot fix the main game in a reasonable time. Needless to say, JTL will not be found on my computer, and after tonight neither will the rest of it.

I get it ,, TH is saying " Listen guys that game you bought a year ago and have been paying for ever since (in more ways that one) is totally f'd up and we can't fix it. So buy this game called JTL instead.

I can live with the bugs, the lack of immersion, and everything else that has been promised to be fixed but that is currently delayed. What I want to know, but that has yet to be even remotely addressed, is:


What is being done to remove the god-awful time sinks?!


There is NOTHING fun and immersive about missing shuttles and waiting 9 minutes to group with your friends. With all the timers in this game for healing, crafting, entertaining, and so on, it is REALLY necessary to further include UNNEEDED timers like shuttle waits?!


If you want to socialize, go to a cantina like we used to. If you want to catch a shuttle to another planet, you go to a starport. The starport is like an outdoor frustration-cantina, has the community not been clear enough on this?!


It won't take a team of 5 developers, thousands of lines of code and 3 months of patches to fix this. Stop wasting our time, please. You want my $20/month while you fix this game? Fine, I will pay to play with my friends while you fix the issues, but stop making me pay to send a tell like this:


"/tell Kawika yeah man, definately up for a hunt, just need 15 minutes to get from SOAL Valley, to Coronet, then from Coronet to Dathomir"


The fact that I have typed this similiar sentence at least 100 times is indicative of the inherent problem. I will pay if you fix the irritants.
